HALBERG - trotted roughly at various stages and in particular rounding the final turn and was not persevered with. When spoken to regarding the performance Driver C Hackett confirmed that the gelding had been rough in its gait. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.

HALBERG - broke approaching the 800m losing all chance hampering a trailing runner.

HALBERG - held up passing the 600m by a weakening runner. Driver M McKendry admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly near the 500m when shifting ground outwards resulting in CROWN THE MOMENT being checked with the trailing IT AIN'T ME BABE also being checked. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr McKendry's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 26 May up to and including 29 June 2023 (5 days).

DIAMANT BLEU - slow to begin. Raced wider on the track near the 1900m when improving to the outside of ALDEBARAN PIPPI which shifted away from the marker line. It was established that Driver B Hackett (ALDEBARAN PIPPI) had commenced his outward movement prior to DIAMANT BLEU reaching his sulky wheel and no further action was deemed necessary. Weakened in the run home.

WALKINONSUNSHINE - broke near the 1700m when being shifted inwards by SHEZ BELLA. After taking initial evidence from drivers T Herlihy (WALKINONSUNSHINE) and D Ferguson (SHEZ BELLA) Stewards adjourned the enquiry sine die due to Mr Herlihy having to leave the course for travel commitments.

SHEZ BELLA - driver D Ferguson was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.

BELLATRIX - broke near the 900m after having been crossed by SHEZ BELLA, which improved to the parked position, checking trailing runners and lost all chance. An investigation was held into this incident. After hearing from Drivers A Matthews (BELLATRIX), D Ferguson (SHEZ BELLA) and viewing the replays the evidence proved to be inconclusive with no further action being taken other than to note the circumstances.

THE MOONSTONE - pre-race warmed. Broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first bend. Raced greenly near the 900m. Lay inwards near the 800m striking a track marker which was dislodged. Hung inwards in the run home and shifted into the passing lane. Authorisation of 2nd placing was withheld until Stewards had spoken to driver N Rasmussen (HIGH STEP) placed 3rd, who advised that her chances had not been affected by THE MOONSTONE. Driver N Chilcott reported the filly had hung inwards throughout the run home causing her difficulty. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly. Notwithstanding this, Ms Chilcott was also issued with a warning to make a greater effort to ensure the passing lane remains clear for trailing runners. Ms Chilcott advised that she would give consideration to sending the filly for a spell.

THE MOONSTONE - slow to leave the pre-race formation however was in position at the candy pole. Lay in on reaching the passing lane early in the run home and was corrected by Driver N Chilcott.
