DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER - over-raced early stages. Weakened from the 1600m hampering trailing runners and was retired from the event. Returned to the stabling area with blood present in both nostrils. A post-race veterinary and endoscopic examination confirmed that the mare had bled. Stood down for the mandatory period of 30 days with connections advised a veterinary clearance including the results of an endoscopic examination prior to a satisfactory trial would be required before the mare resumes racing.

Driver H Orange advised that he had encountered steering difficulties when the gelding had locked on the inside rein rounding the final turn. A warning was placed on this runner's racing manners. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormality.
