It was established that Driver S Abernethy (EYRE I WILL) had commenced his outward movement prior to SANINARMBRO, which was improving wider on the track, reaching his sulky wheel and no further action was deemed necessary. SANINARMBRO - when questioned regarding his decision to shift out off the leader's back near the 700m Driver R Downey stated that the mare had raced keenly in what was her first start back after being freshened so he elected to shift out when ITAINTNECESSARILYSO commenced to improve to his outer in the hope that his runner would settle however the tempo had increased appreciably at this stage with SANINARMBRO dropping the bit as a result.

Driver B Hope defended a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) alleging he drove carelessly when shifting ground near the 250m checking DOWNTOWN ORLANDO (R Jenkins) which broke with the trailing ROYAL YANKEE also being crowded and striking a track marker. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and driver R Jenkins, Mr Hope elected to change his plea and admit the charge. After penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Hope's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 1 May 2024 (3 days).

Authorisation of 2nd placing was withheld to enable Stewards to ascertain whether there were grounds for a protest for alleged interference to VAL THORENS which raced in restricted room between HEARTBREAK HOTEL and FATHER BARRY during the run home. After hearing the relative evidence from Drivers Z Butcher (HEARTBREAK HOTEL), T Mitchell (VAL THORENS) and J Dickie (FATHER BARRY) and viewing the replays Stewards did not proceed with the protest as it could not be established that VAL THORENS would of beaten HEARTBREAK HOTEL with Driver T Mitchell (VAL THORENS) declining the opportunity to proceed with a protest.
