When questioned regarding the tactics adopted and in particular his decision to shift back to the marker line approaching the 1100m Driver A Poutama explained that it had been decided by connections to drive the filly with cover in tonight's event given the 2700m distance and this runner's moderate form line. Mr Poutama was issued a warning in relation to contacting the track markers early in the run home.
