BRIENNE - Driver M White admitted a charge under Rule 869(4) and the Home Straight Regulations in that he allowed his mare to shift outwards early in the run home placing TRIFOLIUM (T Mitchell) in restricted room for some distance. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300.

SHES ALL LEGS - weakened final turn. Driver P Ferguson reported that a sulky tyre deflated in the run home. Stewards were satisfied that this was a result of the improving GRACE N ELEGANCE (T Cameron) contacting the sulky wheel of the weakening SHES ALL LEGS passing the 200m and took the matter no further given the circumstances.

SHES ALL LEGS - lay out approaching the 900m having to be corrected. Hampered by a breaking runner passing the 350m and shifted out when taking evasive action checking an outside runner. Stewards took no action against Driver P Ferguson given the circumstances. A post-race veterinary examination requested by connections revealed the mare to be suffering from synchronous diaphragmatic flutter (thumps) which was treated. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.

BREWSTER BAKER - broke near the 150m and continued in a break before settling just prior to the finish line. Stewards lodged a protest against 5th placing being awarded to the gelding under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging BREWSTER BAKER had broken in excess of 50m inside the final 200m. Connections did not contest the protest and BREWSTER BAKER was disqualified by the Stewards.

A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners. Driver L Chin admitted a charge under Rule 869 (3)(b) that he drove carelessly near the 900m when contacting and puncturing the sulky wheel of EYES TO HEAVEN (Driver N Chilcott). After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Dr Chin's licence from the conclusion of racing on the 15 August up to and including 28 August 2025 (3 days).

The Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and imposed a fine of $50. Checked by an outside runner passing the 150m.

Stewards questioned drivers L Neal (TWO FRANCS) and B Wilkins (CONRAD H) and after hearing explanations from both drivers Stewards could not apportion full blame to either horse or driver and took the matter no further.
