Had to be strongly restrained off the back of CLOUDING OVER near the 750m. Weakened from the 500m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stood down to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards on one occasion prior to resuming.

AUNTY ROSE - locked wheels with HE'S TOUGH passing the 1800m for a considerable distance then broke losing considerable ground. Stewards spoke with junior drivers H Orange (assisted by S Abernethy) and C Hackett (assisted by A Poutama) regarding the incident in question. Each driver was given the opportunity to provide their account of the circumstances and after considering the submissions from all parties and carefully reviewing all available race footage, it was established that AUNTY ROSE shifted outward whilst under slight restraint at a point where HE'S TOUGH was improving rapidly to its outside. Stewards were satisfied that the circumstances were a result of racing dynamics rather than any carelessness from either driver and subsequently, no action was deemed necessary.

MR MIKI - paced roughly rounding the final turn. Held up early in the run home having to be strongly restrained before contacting the sulky wheel of BILLY THE KID near the 100m and broke checking a trailing runner losing its chance. Stewards were satisfied that driver Z Butcher had not driven carelessly in this incident and took the matter no further.

CYAMATE - Driver M Nimczyk was spoken to advisedly regarding not having his right foot in the sulky footrest throughout the run home. In considering this matter Stewards took into account that Mr Nimczyk had encountered difficulty when attempting to activate the removable deafeners.

BREENY'S CONQUEROR - over-raced middle stages. Broke after the hopple carrier came detached in the run home. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition with trainer C Sharpe deemed not to be a fault.

BREENY'S CONQUEROR - driver C Sharpe admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion early in the run home. After viewing the replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Sharpe's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 14 June 2026 (1 month).
