IMPOSING SEA - veered out passing the 300m shortly after Trainer/Driver B Butcher activated the removable deafeners then broke losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners. When questioned Mr Butcher confirmed that the gelding had taken fright and that he would be looking to make a gear change prior to resuming.

ENZO - when questioned regarding the performance trainer/driver Z Butcher stated that the gelding had not been suited to having to race without cover from the 1100m. Mr Butcher further stated that although this had not been his preferred option he felt that he was obligated to shift out to the parked position rather than being covered by the improving IMPOSING SEA.

WAR CHIEF - lay inwards when weakening rounding the final bend striking a track marker. When questioned regarding the performance driver Z Butcher advised the gelding had worked too hard early which had taken its toll over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination and endoscopy at the request of connections detected a slow recovery and a degree of mucous in the trachea. A veterinary clearance will be required prior to racing next.

GEORGIE BEST - broke near the 1200m after briefly locking sulky stays with an inside runner after both horses shifted ground and was taken up the track before settling. Raced greenly approaching the 250m and shifted out briefly locking wheels with MOVE IT LOU, which was checked, with NYMBAL,CYCLONE REBEL, PRINCE LINCOLN and WAR CHIEF being hampered. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners. Driver S Abernethy advised that the colt had raced keenly after contacting its sulky wheel disc over the early stages.

HES NOT THAT INTO U - lay inwards near the 900m after being shifted wider placing an inside runner in restricted room momentarily. Again lay inwards near the 750m dictating YANKEE FLYBYE inwards resulting in an inside runner racing in restricted room. Notwithstanding this driver T Herlihy was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. When questioned regarding the performance Mr Herlihy advised that the mid race effort when forced wide had taken its toll.

When questioned regarding the performance Mr Orange advised that after going back early from the outside draw the colt had not received a trail into the race as he had hoped before being forced wide rounding the final turn when attempting to improve.

After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300.

TURN O THE TIDE - over-raced middle stages. Junior driver K Denifostova, assisted by T Herlihy, was issued a warning for the manner in which she drove near the 850m when attempting to shift inwards when insufficiently clear of RUSHKINOFF with MUCHACHO also being hampered when Miss Denifostova had attempted to correct her runner.

Paced roughly then broke near the 250m shifting the gelding being shifted inside the marker line as a consequence losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.

MUCHACHO - had to be steadied off the back of IT'S NOT KATHY approaching the 1000m resulting in trailing runners being briefly hampered. Lay in approaching the 300m and paced roughly losing ground.

A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier and racing manners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Trainer Z Meredith reported he would be making gear changes.
