GOTTA GO MIKI - slow early. Broke rounding the first bend when contesting for a position in the running line with SWEET MAGGIE MAE (K Denifostova), losing ground. After viewing the films and hearing from Driver L Hollis, Stewards established that Ms Denifostova was initially entitled to shift GOTTA GO MIKI down the track, however, SWEET MAGGIE MAE was soon after placed in restricted room to the inside of OLYMPIC KO (S Abernethy), which was hanging inwards, preventing SWEET MAGGIE MAE from relieving the pressure being applied to GOTTA GO MIKI. Given the circumstances, Stewards were unable to apportion blame to any horse or Driver and took the matter no further.

GOTTA GO MIKI - weakened near 400m hampering a trailing runner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare had suffered an atrial fibrillation. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance including the results of an ECG prior to completing one satisfactory trial before resuming.

GOTTA GO MIKI - lay inwards and raced inside and struck a track marker near the 1300m. Lay inwards and struck track markers near the 800m and again rounding the final bend. Driver L Hollis reported that the mare did not handle the bends.

When questioned regarding the improved performance Trainer M Collins stated that the mare was racing with notified gear changes after having recently rejoined his stable and had benefitted from an economical run.

SPIRITED BELLE - raced wide without cover early and middle stages after unsuccessfully contesting for a position in the running line. Was then eased to the rear near the 800m before being retired from the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.

SPIRITED BELLE - broke in the score-up and then attempted to dislodge driver S. Abernethy from the sulky. Continued to gallop for an extended period thereafter and took no competitive part in the event. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier record.

SPIRITED BELLE - caretaker trainer J Abernethy was warned for not having the correct colours available. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Abernethy advised that he was not disappointed with the run given that the mare had been required to work to find the early lead.
