Stewards took the matter no further with 2nd placing being duly authorised.

TYSON - lay in near the 1450m when improving three wide crowding an inside runner. Co-Trainer R Green reported that the colt had cast the near fore shoe during the running.

TYSON - when questioned regarding the performance Driver Z Butcher stated that the colt had lay in prior to the dispatch and lost the opportunity to go forward from the favorable draw. Mr Butcher further stated that this runner had lay in again rounding the final turn and peaked on its run in what was its first race for a month.

THE RASCAL - the murphy blind was removed prior to the start due to the colt failing to warm up favourably. Lay in and raced over a track marker near the 1250m. Authorisation of this runner's 3rd placing was withheld until Steward's viewed the replays and questioned Drivers P Ferguson (THE RASCAL) and M McKendry (BIG HERB) in relation to THE RASCAL contacting a track marker passing the 80m when looking for a run to the inside of BIG HERB. These two runners then locked wheels over the final 40m. After considering the matter Stewards were satisfied that THE RASCAL had not gained an advantage in this incident and gave all clear on the judge's placings. Mr Ferguson was issued a warning in relation to contacting the track marker.

KATAMA - Co-Trainers M & N Purdon were issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for presenting the filly to race with blinds which had not been notified. Broke approaching the 2000m after contacting the sulky wheel of BIG HERB which was crossing to the lead, checking and hampering trailing runners before settling. An investigation was held into this incident and after hearing from Junior Driver B Wilkins (KATAMA), assisted by T Herlihy, Driver M McKendry(BIG HERB) and viewing the replays it was established that KATAMA had over-raced when being crossed by BIG HERB contacting that runner's sulky wheel despite the efforts of Ms Wilkins. Broke again near the 1200m hampering a trailing runner losing its chance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormality. A warning was placed on the filly's racing manners.

OHOKA ACHILLES - raced wide early before being restrained to the rear. Authorisation of this runner's 1st placing was withheld to enable Stewards to view the replays of the run home and to question Junior Drivers K Coppins (JACCKA OPA), assisted by R Lawson, and M Ranger (OHOKA ACHILLES), assisted by S Abernethy, in relation to an incident passing the 100m where JACCKA OPA (3rd place) paced roughly when to the inside of OHOKA ACHILLES which shifted inwards so as to ascertain whether there were grounds for a protest. It was established that there was not a full run available for JACCKA OPA to improve prior to OHOKA ACHILLES shifting inwards with Stewards electing not to proceed with the protest. The connections of JACCKA OPA also elected not to proceed with a protest against OHOKA ACHILLES's first placing with placings then being duly authorised. Ms Ranger was issued a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) on the grounds that she drove carelessly in this incident and indicated that she would be defending the charge. The matter was adjourned until the Waikato BOP Harness meeting to be held on the 10 July 2025.

Driver J Dickie was questioned regarding his decision to remain in the one one position passing the 600m when he had the opportunity to shift out to lead up the three wide line. Mr Dickie stated that the gelding had cast the off fore shoe over the early stages and had raced outside the leader for some distance before receiving cover near the 1300m. He then explained that he felt attempting to improve three wide prior to being covered by MAJOR MAJOR near the 600m may have proved detrimental to his chances given that the gelding does have some difficulty in negotiating the bends. Mr Dickie further stated that he felt IDEAL DELIGHT would be strong enough to take him forward into a position that he could shift wider to secure clear running however this did not eventuate. Stewards noted Mr Dickie's comments.

Stewards questioned drivers C Hackett (DELIGHTFUL CHIC) and L Hollis (GOTTA GO MIKI) regarding a possible breach of the Push Out Rule near the 1200m. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from both drivers, Stewards were satisfied that when driver L Hollis shifted outwards, a full run was available to the inside of DELIGHTFUL CHIC, as this runner was already racing in a three-wide position. Consequently, no further action was taken.

Starter D Blakemore advised Stewards that he had called to Driver L Hollis late in the score up with Mr Hollis indicating that he was receiving sufficient room to be in position. After considering the matter Stewards took no further action other than to note the circumstances.
