JUMAL - Stewards questioned driver S Ottley regarding the tactics she adopted passing the 1100m when electing to shift outwards from a trailing position. Miss Ottley advised that HADRON COLLIDER which she had been trailing, had worked hard in the early stages and she was concerned that runner may weaken prior to reaching the passing lane or could restrain to obtain cover from GOT THE CHOCOLATES had it improved forward to lead which would have resulted in her horse having to race three back on the marker line. After considering Miss Ottley's explanation, Stewards were satisfied her tactics were not unreasonable in the circumstances and took the matter no further.

JUMAL - driver S Ottley defended a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations alleging that she used her whip in a continuous manner late in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Miss Ottley, the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and suspended her driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 21 November up to and including 28 November 2025. (4 days).

Broke again near the 950m when being shifted wider on the track by an inside runner losing further ground. When questioned regarding the incident, Driver M White advised that the horse had failed to respond when being shifted wider after breaking at a similar point earlier in the race. Notwithstanding this, Driver Z Butcher (THE NIGHT AGENT) was advised to exercise greater care when shifting ground in similar circumstances in the future.

It was established that driver M White (IRON MIKE TYSON) had commenced his outward movement prior to EVERNDEN reaching his sulky wheel and no further action was deemed necessary. ANDRETTI(AUS) - when questioned about his perceived lack of vigour over the concluding stages driver A Poutama advised that the gelding had run its race by the latter stages and he was disappointed with the effort. He further added that he was placed in restricted room near the finishing line. After considering his explanation and viewing all available replays Stewards took the matter no further other than to remind Mr Poutama of his obligations as a driver to drive his horse out to the finish line.

CYCLONE REBEL - when questioned regarding the performance driver M White advised that he had been unable to get into the race from a wide barrier draw and that the gelding had peaked on its run over the concluding stages and would derive benefit in what was its first race in some time.

CYCLONE REBEL - held up final bend and throughout the run home. When questioned regarding his tactics during the middle stages Driver M White advised that after having worked hard to secure the lead near the 1400m he felt it was his best option to take a trail on the improving BARBAROSSA near the 1000m rather than risk receiving more pressure as he expected that runner to maintain the lead as it had performed well when driven aggressively prior. Mr White further stated that CYCLONE REBEL was racing with a notified gear change of the removal of blinds after having trialled earlier in the week but did not feel as sharp when warming up and during tonight's event in what was the gelding's first race in a month. After considering Mr White's explanation Stewards were satisfied his decision to surrender the lead was not unreasonable given the circumstances and took the matter no further.

Stewards lodged a protest against this runner's 4th placing being awarded under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the gelding broke in excess of 50m in the final 200m. Connections did not contest the protest and SAMMY LINCOLN was disqualified by Stewards.

GEORGIE BEST - broke near the 1200m after briefly locking sulky stays with an inside runner after both horses shifted ground and was taken up the track before settling. Raced greenly approaching the 250m and shifted out briefly locking wheels with MOVE IT LOU, which was checked, with NYMBAL,CYCLONE REBEL, PRINCE LINCOLN and WAR CHIEF being hampered. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners. Driver S Abernethy advised that the colt had raced keenly after contacting its sulky wheel disc over the early stages.
