Front: Trotters with no wins for lifetime. 20m: Horses with 1 or more wins for lifetime. For horses who are either non-win, or 1-win at time of the Winton HRC meeting on 7th May 2026, and have raced at a Southern Harness Racing meeting at least once between 7th May 2026 and 5th July 2026. See special condition No.6

R35 TO R60 MOBILE PACE 2200m (Tentative)

Of $12000

For R35 to R60 pacers. This race will be split based on ratings. Preferential Barrier Draws will be used if deemed necessary numbering sequentially from 1. The two highest races will get a rating penalty free win if 4YO and older, and driven by a Junior Driver, and has not previously won a rating penalty free race this season. The stake for the lowest rating race will be $10,000, second lowest $11,000 and two highest $12,000.

Special Conditions

  1. RIGHT OF RE-ENTRY TIME

    Shall be 5pm on day before raceday.

  2. ORIGINAL NOMINATIONS

    In the event horses are transferred to another race from the trainer, selection preference will be given to original nominations received for that race.

  3. IMPORTANT NOTICE TO NOMINATORS

    Owners and Trainers are reminded that the bureau has the right to transfer any horse not selected to start in a race for which it was nominated to ANY OTHER RACE ON THE PROGRAMME for which it may be eligible. If you do not wish the bureau to exercise it's right to transfer a particular nominated horse then it is your responsibility as the nominator to advise the bureau of the same.

  4. SPLITTING FIELDS

    In the event any race or races are split on this Programme, unless specific in the individual race conditions, races will be split and selected at the bureau's discretion, with consideration given to Ratings in the first instance.

  5. DUAL ACCEPTORS/NOMINATORS

    In the event that horses have gained a start at another meeting these horses are not guaranteed to gain a start at this meeting.

  6. GOLD CHIP FINAL

    For non-win, or up to 1 win trotters for lifetime aged two years and older at the closing of nominations for the Winton HRC meeting held on Thursday 7th May 2026. Conditions: 1. Open to all trotters aged two years and older that have never won a race (non-winners), or have won one win for lifetime. 2. To be eligible to start in the Gold Chip Championship Trot a horse must start in at least one race or an open trot race run by Southern Harness Racing Clubs (Winton HRC, Invercargill HRC and Wyndham HRC) and have its second win in the period from 7th May 2026 through to 5th July 2026 at a Southern Harness Racing Club meeting. 3. Field selection for the Gold Chip Final will operate as follows: Most wins at during that period at a Southern Harness Racing club meeting, most 2nds during that period at a Southern Harness Racing club meeting, most 3rds during that period at a Southern Harness Racing club meeting, then club discretion. 4. The $15000 Gold Chip Final will be raced over 2200m, from a standing start. Non-win horses will start off the front. R rated horses off a 20 metre handicap.
