Selection for the Final (8 May 2026) will be determined as follows: the first five official placegetters in the Prelude will automatically qualify for selection, if nominated for the Young Guns Easton Light Classic Group 1 $100,000 (8 May 2026). The balance of the field will be selected by the HRNZ Bureau. To contest the Young Guns Easton Light Classic a trotter NEED NOT contest the Prelude but must be qualified and passed from the mobile start. For up to & including R55 trotters. Preferential Barrier Draw Based on: Rating then Winning Stakes numbering sequentially from 1. Eligible to nominate, horses who ran in the Heats on 17th April 2026. Penalty Free should a horse win a Heat and the Final. Refer Series Conditions. First five placed runners from the heats run on 17th April are automatic qualifiers for the final run on 24th April should they be nominated. Heats and Finals limited to 12 starters. Should a horse win both a Heat and the Final, the Final will be plenty free.

Special Conditions
- RATINGS PROGRAMME
An Age & Feature Group Race meeting. All races to be run as programmed unless advised otherwise.
- ONE NOMINATION
Trainers are advised that a horse may only be nominated for One Race at this meeting. Trainers do however have the right to Transfer their horse(s) following the close of Nominations. The Club reserves the right to transfer any horse deemed necessary, unless trainers specify that their horse(s) is NOT to be Transferred.
- RESTRICTED PROGRAMME
Owners and Trainers please note that this programme is restricted to ten races.
- 2YO STAKES FOUR ACCEPTORS
Where a programmed 2YO race has exactly four (4) acceptors at the close of withdrawals, Harness Racing New Zealand, at its discretion, may elect to proceed with the race and apply a 20% reduction to the advertised stake.
- CADUCEUS CLUB SERIES 27 BONUS
Conditions: 1. A bonus of $7,000 shall be paid to the owners of the winning filly of the nominated race, provided that: (a) the filly is eligible for Caduceus Series 27, and (b) such eligibility is at Level D, E, or F. 2. Only one (1) bonus may be won by any individual filly under this condition, regardless of the number of eligible races contested. 3. For the 2026 racing season, nine (9) bonuses shall be available, allocated as follows: o Three (3) in the North Island, o Three (3) in the Canterbury region, o Three (3) in the Southland region. 4. The allocation and payment of bonuses shall be at the discretion of the New Zealand Sires' Stakes Board and subject to compliance with all other race conditions. 5. In the event this race is not run a replacement race may be programmed.
