4YO & OLDER R35 TO R50 SPECIAL HANDICAP TROT 2600m
Of $30000 ($16500, $4650, $2850, $1800, others $525)
For R35 to R50 4yo-&-older trotters. Front: R35 to R40. 10m: R41 to R45. 20m: R46 to R50. 30m: R51 to R59. 40m: R60 & Faster To be eligible for these Races a Trotter had to be a 4yo and Older Trotter and Rated no faster than R50 or lower as at 1st January 2026, and have had a minimum of Five (5) Official Race Starts at a South Island Harness Race Meeting in the official qualifying period from 1st January 2026 up to and including the 29th March 2026. The Trotters selected to start in these Races will be the first 30 Trotters that hold a nomination on points earned in the qualifying period (highest to lowest), then split on Ratings. Trotters remain eligible for these Races if their Rating ascends above R50 after 1st January 2026. Non-Win Trotters are not eligible for these Races. A Trotter that has met the selection criteria for these Races must still be nominated for these Races with the HRNZ BUREAU. Of $25000 ($13750, $3875, $2375, $1500, others $437.50)
For R51 to R80 3yo-&-older trotters. Front: R51 to R55. 10m: R56 to R60. 20m: R61 to R70. 30m: R71 to R80. This Race will be selected on Ratings (highest to lowest).

For 2-year-old pacers. Preferential Barrier Draw Based on: Winning Stakes then Sex (fillies drawn inside colts and geldings) using the track grid. This Race will be selected at the discretion of the HRNZ BUREAU. (Trainer Please Note: See Special Condition No. 9).

For 3yo-&-older pacers. Preferential Barrier Draw Based on: Sex (fillies and mares drawn inside colts, geldings and entires) using the track grid.

For up to & including R50 3-year-old pacers. Preferential Barrier Draw Based on: Rating then Winning Stakes using the track grid. This Race will be selected at the discretion of the HRNZ BUREAU.

4YO & OLDER R35 TO R50 MOBILE PACE 2600m
Of $30000 ($16500, $4650, $2850, $1800, others $525)
For R35 to R50 4yo-&-older pacers. Preferential Barrier Draw Based on: Rating then Winning Stakes using the track grid. To be eligible for these Races a Pacer had to be a 4yo and Older Pacer and Rated no faster than R50 or lower as at 1st January 2026, and have had a minimum of Five (5) Official Race Starts at a South Island Harness Race Meeting in the official qualifying period from 1st January 2026 up to and including the 29th March 2026. The Pacers selected to start in these Races will be the first 42 Pacers that hold a nomination on points earned in the qualifying period (highest to lowest), then split on Ratings. Pacers remain eligible for these Races if their Rating ascends above R50 after 1st January 2026. Non-Win Pacers are not eligible for these Races. A Pacer that has met the selection criteria for these Races must still be nominated for these Races with the HRNZ BUREAU. Special Conditions
- ONE HORSE ONE NOMINATION
A horse may only nominate for one race on the programme/race day, the trainer has the right to transfer the horse if he/she wishes, and may advise the club at the time of nomination whether the horse is to be transferred or not.
- DUAL ACCEPTORS
Selection Preference for this meeting, in the first instance, will be given to horses that are not already accepted into a race(s) at another meeting. This condition includes races later than this race day/night. This condition will not apply to races that are covered by specific series or race conditions; e.g. NZ Sires Stakes Board Administered races.
- LATE NOMINATIONS
In the event Nominations are extended for any races or the meeting, selection preference will be given to those horses that Nominated at the original closing time. Except in the case of Non-Win races, where Field Selection Regulations take precedence or where specific race or series conditions are Programmed. No late Nominations will be permitted to transfer from the race that they have nominated for, unless the club requires it.
- ELIGIBILITY
Any horse is eligible to nominate & accept for a race that has a higher Rating than it has. However, preference will be given in the first instance to horses that the race caters for in terms of Rating. Races Programmed with an 'R' rating will see preference given to 'R' rated horses over 'MR' rated horses.
- FIELD SELECTION
Field Selection for this meeting will be conducted in line with the Handicapping Regulations for non-win or non-win front races. That being; first and second preference horses will be selected in the first instances and thereafter at clubs discretion. All other races will be selected at the clubs discretion or per the conditions attached to each Programmed race.
- SPLIT FIELD NOMINATIONS
Should any race on this programme be able to be split it will be done so on the basis of highest to lowest rating or vice versa, by sex or by a yet to be decided method, as the Club sees fit. This does not apply where conditions are detailed in the race programme. Owner, Trainer & Driver splits will not be taken into consideration if the race is split.
- HORSE ATTENDANT
Owners, Trainers and Drivers are advised that should they be required to attend a judicial enquiry a starters assistant will be made available after each race for the purpose of returning their horse to the horse stall area. If a Trainer or Driver does not wish a starters assistant to carry out this duty it will be the Trainers responsibility to provide an attendant at all times. Owners, Trainers and Drivers should be aware that the Club does not accept legal liability for the horse, if a starters assistant is required to drive it back to the horse stall area.
- RACEMEETING ATTENDANCE
It is the Trainers responsibility to have an attendant with their horse at all times. Please be aware of the Programming Conditions Regulation, Clause 15, "Racemeeting Attendance"which is a requirement for all racemeetings.
- 2YO STAKES FOUR ACCEPTORS
Where a programmed 2YO race has exactly four (4) acceptors at the close of withdrawals, Harness Racing New Zealand, at its discretion, may elect to proceed with the race and apply a 20% reduction to the advertised stake.
