In the event there are nine or less acceptors for this race, the club reserves the right to include the lowest rating/and or 1-win trotters from Race 2, off a handicap of 30-metres.

R35 & FASTER DISCRETIONARY HANDICAP TROT 2400m (Tentative)

Of $15000

For R35 & faster trotters. These races will be split based on ratings. The lower rating race will be run for $13,000. The highest rating race will be part of the Seddon Summer Trotting Series, of which the full conditions can be viewed on the HRNZ website, in the Racing Schedules & Conditions Sections. The intention is the Faster Trot will be an R50 & Faster.

For R35 to R50 pacers. These races will be split based on ratings. Preferential Barrier Draws will be used if deemed necessary. The lower rating race will be run for $12,500, middle race $13,000 and highest race $13,500.

For R45 to R60 4yo-&-older pacing mares. Preferential Barrier Draw Based on: Rating using the track grid. This race will be restricted to 12 starters. The top 5 placegetters will automatically qualify for the final to be held at NZ Metro on 21st January 2026. Any horse eliminated from Day 1 will have preference for Day 2 with the remainder of the field selected on ratings highest to lowest. The winner of the heat if also wins the final on 21st January 2026 will get a rating penalty free win.

For R50 & faster pacers. This race is included in the COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP. This race is included in the COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP.

Special Conditions

  1. HORSE ATTENDANT

    Trainers and Drivers are advised that should they be required to attend a judicial enquiry a starters assistant will be made available for the purpose of returning their horse to the Stable enclosure. If a trainer does not wish a starters assistant to carry out this duty it will be the trainers responsibility to provide an attendant at all times.

  2. PREFERENCE GIVEN TO FIRST DAY STARTERS

    Horses which start on the first day will receive preference for second day starts.

  3. STABLING

    All stabling requirements must be advised to the Club by 1pm, Tuesday 6th January 2026.

  4. FIELD SELECTION

    Field Selection for this meeting will be conducted in line with the Handicapping Regulations for non-win or non-win front races. That being; first and second preference horses will be selected in the first instances and thereafter at bureau's discretion. All other races will be selected at the bureau's discretion or per the conditions attached to each Programmed race.

  5. NOMINATING

    Trainers are advised that nominations will only be accepted for one race. Please nominate for your preferred race. The trainer or bureau have the right to move your horse to another race once nominations are closed unless the trainer has advised, DO NOT TRANSFER.

  6. SPLITTING FIELDS

    In the event any race or races are split on this Programme, unless specific in the indiviual race conditions, races will be split and selected at the bureau's discretion, with consideration given to recent form.

  7. ELIGIBILITY

    Any Horse is eligible to nominate & accept for a Race that has a higher Rating than it has. However, preference will be given in the first instance to Horses that the Race caters for in terms of Rating. For Races specified as "R" Races, preference will be given to "R" Rating Horses (ie. Race Winners) over "MR" Rating Horses (ie. Non Race Winners).

  8. ALTERATIONS TO THE PROGRAMME

    Some alterations may be made to this programme after Nominations are taken to ensure the fullest possible fields and to allow as many horses as possible a start. The bureau also reserves the right to transfer any horse to any other race for which it may be eligible for, unless the trainer has advised a horse is Not to be transferred.
