Special Conditions

ONE HORSE ONE NOMINATION

A horse may only nominate for one race on the programme/race day, the trainer has the right to transfer the horse if he/she wishes, and may advise the club at the time of nomination whether the horse is to be transferred or not.

DUAL ACCEPTORS

Selection Preference for this meeting, in the first instance, will be given to horses that are not already accepted into a race(s) at another meeting. This condition includes races later than this race day/night. This condition will not apply to races that are covered by specific series or race conditions; e.g. NZ Sires Stakes Board Administered races.

LATE NOMINATIONS

In the event Nominations are extended for any races or the meeting, selection preference will be given to those horses that Nominated at the original closing time. Except in the case of Non-Win races, where Field Selection Regulations take precedence or where specific race or series conditions are Programmed. No late Nominations will be permitted to transfer from the race that they have nominated for, unless the club requires it.

ELIGIBILITY

Any horse is eligible to nominate & accept for a race that has a higher Rating than it has. However, preference will be given in the first instance to horses that the race caters for in terms of Rating. Races Programmed with an 'R' rating will see preference given to 'R' rated horses over 'MR' rated horses.

FIELD SELECTION

Field Selection for this meeting will be conducted in line with the Handicapping Regulations for non-win or non-win front races. That being; first and second preference horses will be selected in the first instances and thereafter at clubs discretion. All other races will be selected at the clubs discretion or per the conditions attached to each Programmed race.

SPLIT FIELD NOMINATIONS

Should any race on this programme be able to be split it will be done so on the basis of highest to lowest rating or vice versa, by sex or by a yet to be decided method, as the Club sees fit. This does not apply where conditions are detailed in the race programme. Owner, Trainer & Driver splits will not be taken into consideration if the race is split.

ANNE THOMPSON MEMORIAL TROTTING GRADUATION SERIES

1. The Rangiora HRC 3YO & Older Non-Win Trotter Graduation series is scheduled to consist of two heats and a final. The two heats will be as follows: heat one run at the 28 April meeting, heat 2 run at the 05 May meeting. The final will be run at the Rangiora HRC meeting on 19 May 2024. 2. To be eligible to contest the final a horse must have started in at least one heat, been balloted out or eliminated from a heat or been an acceptor for a heat that was abandoned. 3. The first four placegetters in each heat will be guaranteed a start in the final, if nominated. The balance of the field will be made up of starters in the heats, at the club’s discretion. 4. Heat one on 28 April will be run over 2600m standing start. This race will be for Non-Win 3YO & Older Trotters, for a stake of $12,500. Heat two will be run on 05 May will be run over 2000m standing start. This race will be for Non-Win 3YO & Older Trotters, for a stake of $12,500. 5. The final for the series will be run over 2600m standing start, be a random draw and be run for a stake of $20,000. No handicaps will apply for the final of this series 6. In the event any race in this series has nine or fewer acceptors the club reserves the right to abandon said race. 7. Any horse that is a guaranteed qualifier for the graduation final will not be permitted to start in any other race at the meeting of the final on 19 May 2024. 8. A nomination for the final must be made to the club in the normal manner, even if a horse is an automatic qualifier. 9. Any horse automatically qualified for the final of this series that accepts to start at the NZ Metropolitan TC’s clubs meeting on Friday 17 May 2024 will forfeit its automatic qualifier status and be reliant on club’s discretion, if it is to be selected to start in the final. 10. Selection for the heats will be per the Handicapping Regulations and the discretion of the Raceday Secretary. 11. A trotter winning a heat of this series on 28 April will be ineligible to contest the heat on 05 May. Note: All races in this series will be run under the Rules and Regulations of HRNZ. No races within this series will be Rating Penalty Free. In the event of circumstances beyond the club’s control, it reserves the right to alter the conditions or dates of this series, providing the approval of HRNZ. In the event nominations for the heats or final of this series are not full the club reserves the right to extend the closing of nominations.

ANNE THOMPSON MEMORIAL PACING GRADUATION SERIES

The four heats will be as follows: two heats run at the 28 April meeting, two heats run at the 05 May meeting. The final will be run at the Rangiora HRC meeting on 19 May 2024. 2. To be eligible to contest the final a horse must have started in at least one heat, been balloted out or eliminated from a heat or been an acceptor for a heat that was abandoned. 3. The first three placegetters in each heat will be guaranteed a start in the final, if nominated. The balance of the field will be made up of starters in the heats, at the club’s discretion. 4.
