After hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250. In taking this course of action, Stewards were mindful of Mr Smith's recent record in relation to this Rule.

BLUE ROCK DANCER - broke racing into the first bend hampering trailing runners losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Driver A Tomlinson was issued a warning to take her breaking runner clear of the field at the first opportunity.

BLUE ROCK DANCER - broke at the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Over-raced middle stages. Hampered for a distance by a weakening runner near the 1100m. Checked by an inside runner near the 600m and broke after locking sulky wheels with ABSOLUTE DYNAMITE.

ABSOLUTE DYNAMITE - locked wheels with BLUE ROCK DANCER near the 50m with both runners shifting ground outwards hampering an outside runner. Stewards questioned drivers J Dunn (ABSOLUTE DYNAMITE) and B Hope (BLUE ROCK DANCER) in relation to this incident and after hearing from both drivers and viewing the replays, it was established that ABSOLUTE DYNAMITE had lay outwards marginally simultaneously to BLUE ROCK DANCER attempting a marginal run and Stewards were unable to apportion blame onto any one horse or driver with no further action deemed necessary.

BLUE ROCK DANCER - broke approaching the 1000m checking trailing runners losing its chance with the gelding breaking the off-side hopple connecting strap while in a gallop. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Driver B Hope advised the gelding would be examined by the stable's Veterinarian in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.

When questioned regarding the performance driver T Williams advised he had been forced to race wide on the track after improving near the 700m and had been unable to make ground over the concluding stages. Mr Williams added he was not disappointed with the effort considering it was the gelding's first start after a spell and believed the horse would derive considerable benefit from the race.

Stewards questioned driver T Williams (GLENGARRY MOONLIGHT) in relation to this and after hearing his explanation and viewing the films, Stewards were satisfied that Miss Butt's movement had commenced simultaneously to GLENGARRY MOONLIGHT taking up the position to the inside and no further action was warranted.
