GET UP N DANCE - trainer B Butt was issued a warning for presenting the gelding to race without the notified anti choke device. Paced roughly and lay inwards in the run home. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

GET UP N DANCE - driver N Williamson admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Williamson's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 13 May up to and including 27 May 2023 (4 days).

KISS THE GIRLS - co-trainers D & A Jones were issued a warning for being late to notify the gelding would be racing without the notified blinds. Held up middle stages of the run home and shifted ground outwards near the 75m crowding DASHING MAJOR with outside runners being hampered. Driver R Close admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly when shifting ground and after viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Close's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 9 February up to and including 17 February 2024 (3 days).

DASHING MAJOR - hampered by an outside runner leaving the final bend. Driver T Williams was questioned regarding his decision to shift ground outwards near the 350m instead of waiting for a run in the passing lane. Mr Williams advised the gelding had lay outwards on the point of the bend and instead of attempting to shift back inwards and lose momentum he continued to allow the horse to shift wider. Mr Williams added that he was aware the outside horses were improving sharply and he was conscious of being held up however once into the open the horse had been hampered shortly after and failed to respond to his urgings and proved disappointing. Stewards noted Mr Williams explanation and took the matter no further.

Junior driver K Newman, who declined assistance from a senior driver, admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion and in a continuous manner in the run home. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250.
