A Request for a Ruling was lodged with the Adjudicative Committee by driver R Close to determine whether the gelding had been denied a fair start after breasting the barrier strand at the start. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from Stewards and Mr Close, the Adjudicative Committee declared MAINBOCHER to be a runner.

When questioned regarding the performance trainer T Bagrie advised that he was very disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with Mr Bagrie in the coming days.
