IT AIN'T ME BABE - pre-raced warmed. Raced wide early. Stewards investigated an incident near the 2000m where IT AIN'T ME BABE was obliged to race three wide briefly when racing to the outside of BANGKOK BETTY. It was established that CON GRAZIA LOVE had sufficient room to improve to the inside of BANGKOK BETTY which meant that Driver J Abernethy had little option other than to follow MELSADELE when that runner shifted out into the running line which resulted in IT AIN'T ME BABE being caught three wide briefly. Given the circumstances no further action was deemed necessary.

CROWN THE MOMENT - over-raced middle stages. Held up rounding the final bend. Stewards questioned driver B Hope regarding his tactics in the initial stages when challenging for the lead for a distance after the start before restraining his runner near the 1650m. Mr Hope advised it was intention to try and lead and when he had established a length advantage over SOUTHERN DIAMOND (Z Butcher) he believed he was going to be able to cross that horse and assume the lead but was unable to do so. Mr Hope conceded he should have made the decision to restrain his horse earlier and Stewards advised him he is to show better judgement in similar circumstances in future.

AMERICAN MUSCLE - broke approaching the first turn losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.

AMERICAN MUSCLE - broke near the 2000m losing ground. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation. The near side mudguard became detached near the 100m.

JASINOVA - Driver L Chin admitted a charge under Rule 869(4) and the Home Straight Regulations in that he allowed his mare to shift into the passing lane in the final 100m. After hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Dr Chin's Driver's licence from the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 1 March 2024 (3 days). When questioned Dr Chin advised that a recent gear change of replacing an overcheck bit with a chinrest had been beneficial with the desired improvement in the mare's manners.

MONARCH HILL - broke rounding the first turn and galloped for a distance losing considerable ground. Broke again near the 400m losing its chance.

ALL CASHED UP(AUS) - Driver C Hackett was spoken to advisedly in relation to the manner in which she paraded prior to the start which resulted in a brief delay. Stewards also spoke to Starter F Phelan in relation to this incident.

ALL CASHED UP(AUS) - raced wide early before breaking passing the 1850m losing considerable ground. It was established that Driver C Hackett had commenced to direct her runner inwards entering the first turn to look to shift BANGKOK BETTY down the track but BREAK FREE had improved to that runner's inside simultaneously with Ms Hackett then shifting ALL CASHED UP(AUS) back outwards, however the entire reacted badly and broke when appearing to resent the boring pole. Trotted roughly near the 850m when at the rear losing ground and trailed the field thereafter.
