Driver A Kyle admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion leaving the final bend and early in the run home. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $250.

CALDWELL - when asked to comment on the improved performance trainer/driver K Green advised the mare was more settled today after a change in training regime and with different driving tactics she was not surprised by the forward showing.

CALDWELL - over-raced in the early stages. Eased down passing the 700m and was taken wider on the track. Junior driver M Hurrell reported the mare had over-raced and become very difficult to steer so he elected to ease the horse out of the race. ROCKCENT - shifted outwards near the 1800m simultaneously to SWEET SPIRIT shifting inwards resulting in contact to the wheel of ROCKCENT which shifted off the rim. Driver S Ottley wished to view the film in relation to lodging a protest against 4th placing being awarded to SWEET SPIRIT. After viewing the films Miss Ottley was satisfied her horse had contributed to this incident and declined to proceed with the protest.
