BETTING SENSATION - driver K Green admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) in that she drove carelessly near the 400m when shifting ground outwards and striking the sulky wheel of TAKEITOUT which punctured. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty, the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200.

TAKEITOUT - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Over-raced passing the 1000m and paced roughly before breaking again losing ground. When spoken to regarding the performance driver S O'Reilly reported the filly had resented the track kick back and she would be recommending gear changes prior to the horse resuming.

TOKYO ROSE - steadied near the 1800m when WICKED WANDA shifted ground. Stewards questioned drivers S Ottley (TOKYO ROSE) and D Ferguson (WICKED WANDA) regarding this and after hearing from both drivers and viewing the replays no further action was required. Held up final bend. Again held up in the early and middle stages of the run home. Shifted ground outwards near the 200m and then lay outwards hampering an outside runner.

TREACHEROUS GALL - held up early in the run home. Driver C Ferguson defended a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) alleging he drove carelessly when shifting ground near the 200m resulting in MILOU (K Cameron) breaking. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from all parties the Adjudicative Committee found the charge proved and Mr Ferguson's driver's licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 30 October 2023 (4 days).

MANTRA BLUE - broke shortly after the start and attempted to buck losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Held up final bend. Stewards lodged a protest against 3rd placing being awarded under Rule 870(3) and the Breaking Horses Regulation alleging the filly had broken in excess of 150m in the early stages. After viewing the replays trainer/driver Z Butcher did not contest the protest and MANTRA BLUE was disqualified by the Stewards. Mr Butcher advised he would be adding hopple shorteners for the filly's next start.

Stewards questioned drivers M Williamson (WHAT A MINX) and S Ottley (TOKYO ROSE) regarding this and after hearing from both drivers and considering their explanation no further action was warranted other than to note the circumstances.

Stewards investigated a possible breach of the Push Out Rule near the 1500m when AMORE INFIDA shifted away from the marker line when racing to the inside of ADVANCE PARTY. After viewing the replays it was established that driver M Purdon (AMORE INFIDA) had commenced to shift outwards prior to ADVANCE PARTY which was racing wide on the track reaching the parked position. Accordingly no further action was deemed necessary.
