CASTANA - weakened passing the 600m. When questioned regarding the performance Driver B Butcher stated that the gelding may not have been suited to being left without cover from the 1900m after no other runner had improved around as he had expected. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.

WISHING STAR - Stewards viewed an incident near the 1300m where this runner briefly raced wider when CASTANA shifted out into the running line. It was established that Driver B Butcher (CASTANA) had commenced his outward movement prior to WISHING STAR covering his sulky wheel and no further action was deemed necessary.

SACRED MOUNTAIN - stood on the mark when the barriers were released before locking wheels with ALL CASHED UP(AUS), which was unable to avoid SACRED MOUNTAIN after having begun well from the 20m mark, with both drivers being tipped from their sulkies. Driver N Chilcott (SACRED MOUNTAIN) was uninjured in this incident and subsequently cleared by St John Ambulance staff. A post-race veterinary examination confirmed that this runner had not sustained any injury. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier manners.

SACRED MOUNTAIN - lost ground when having to take evasive action to avoid a breaking runner entering the back straight on the first occasion.

ALL CASHED UP(AUS) - raced wide early before breaking passing the 1850m losing considerable ground. It was established that Driver C Hackett had commenced to direct her runner inwards entering the first turn to look to shift BANGKOK BETTY down the track but BREAK FREE had improved to that runner's inside simultaneously with Ms Hackett then shifting ALL CASHED UP(AUS) back outwards, however the entire reacted badly and broke when appearing to resent the boring pole. Trotted roughly near the 850m when at the rear losing ground and trailed the field thereafter.

When questioned regarding the performance Co-trainer/Driver B Hackett confirmed that he had encountered difficulty when attempting to shift wider rounding the home turn but was satisfied with the manner in which the entire finished the race off.
