Race 1   IRT. YOUR HORSE. OUR PASSION. FILLIES & MARES PACE
WINEMEUP - crowded near the 300m and had to be steadied.
DARK ECLIPSE - raced wide early.
ITZ MAGICAL MEG - driver G O'Reilly was warned to exercise greater care when shifting ground near the 300m which briefly crowded an outside runner. When questioned regarding the improved performance trainer S Adlam advised the mare had raced without luck at its first start when being shuffled back in the running and had derived benefit from that race day experience.
MACY BLACK - lay inwards final bend and in the run home.
NO MATTER WAT - briefly hampered near the 300m. Paced roughly throughout the run home and was unable to be driven out by driver O Thornley. Authorisation of 2nd placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed the filly was in the correct gait when it crossed the finishing line.
AIRIES GOLD - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
Race 2   AVON CITY FORD MOBILE PACE
TAKE A HIKE - trainer F Scott was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice under Rule 864(2)(d) after the off hind bandage came adrift during the running.
TWILIGHT BROMAC - weakened final bend. When questioned, trainer T Yesberg advised he was disappointed with the performance and could offer no explanation. Mr Yesberg added it was his intention to have the gelding examined in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.
IDEAL GRACE - weakened from the 800m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the mare.
WESTAR LAD - checked by a breaking runner near the 1100m. Raced wide without cover from the 800m. Weakened in the run home. When questioned, co-trainer G Hope advised in his opinion the gelding had failed to back up from its last start on 17 June.
NO GEE ESS TEE - weakened final bend. When questioned, trainer T Yesberg advised he was disappointed with the performance and could offer no explanation. Mr Yesberg added it was his intention to have the mare examined in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.
AIRPARK LIGHTNING - weakened from the 900m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the mare.
VIOLET KNIGHT - broke passing the 1100m losing ground checking a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Held up final bend and early in the run home. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation when breaking near the 1100m.
Trainer T Yesberg advised Stewards on 21 June that NO GEE ESS TEE has been treated for a respiratory infection since last racing.
Trainer T Yesberg advised Stewards on 21 June that a veterinary examination following the race meeting revealed TWILIGHT BROMAC had suffered an atrial fibrillation. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance including the results of an ECG.
Race 3   BOOK TRACKSIDE DINING AT ADDINGTON MOBILE PACE
KING ARTHUR - lay inwards early and middle stages of the run home.
KALI B - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver K Butt. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
MONGOLIAN MACHETE - over-raced in the parked position through the middle stages. Lay inwards rounding the final bend.
IT'S ME - driver S Thornley reported the off side hopple shortener had become entangled in a side carrier after being activated.
MANZINI - weakened final bend.
Race 4   SILVERMOON JEWELLERS LADIES' NIGHT- 8 JULY HANDICAP TROT
MAKE MY SUNDON - driver J Dunn reported he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
LAVRA SEGIL - weakened final bend and trotted roughly in the run home.
SAMANTHAS MOON - fractious prior to the start. Broke passing the 1050m after a slight easing of the pace losing all chance.
MAJESTIC ROLLON - trotted roughly in the run home and was unable to be fully driven out by driver J Morrison.
MADELEINE STOWE - when questioned, driver P Davis advised he was disappointed with the effort and could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
SIOUX PRINCESS - broke at the start losing ground. A final warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
Race 5   SPECTATORS BAR MOBILE PACE
BETTORLINI - driver R May was warned for the manner he drove on the final bend when crowding an inside runner.
BACKBURN - raced greenly when leading for a distance passing the 1300m. Held up final bend and had to be steadied near the 350m when crowded by an outside runner.
MOP - over-raced middle stages when racing in the parked position. Hung outwards when weakening final bend.
MAXIMILIAN - raced wide early. Weakened final bend. Driver B Orange reported the gelding had over-raced in the early and middle stages.
SPORTSCAM - driver J Cox was warned to make a greater effort to ensure his runner does not strike track markers leaving the final bend. When questioned regarding the improved performance Mr Cox explained the gelding had shown natural improvement from its first start back from a spell. He added the horse had been assisted by the small field today when able to improve to the lead compared to its last start when slow away resulting in the horse racing at the rear of the field and had been unable to make ground due to the fast tempo throughout.
Race 6   HYDROFLOW HANDICAP PACE
MOSSDALE MAC - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
SOVIET STAR - broke at the start losing ground. Authorisation of the promoted 2nd placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation when in break at the start.
KATHERINE - held up final bend and early in the run home.
MISSMOLLYGOODGOLLY - over-raced middle stages when in the parked position. Driver L McCormick admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home. After viewing replays and hearing penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200.
HAZER - paced roughly over the concluding stages and broke just prior to the finish line. A protest was lodged under Rule 870(5) against 2nd placing alleging the gelding had been lapped on by SOVIET STAR and KATHERINE. The connections did not contest the protest and after viewing the replays HAZER was relegated to 4th placing by the Adjudicative Committee. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
SHARDS FURY - the required veterinary clearance was received.
Race 7   DAKINS GROUP TROT
IT'S SO EASY - fractious prior to the start and charged the barrier strand despite the efforts of driver P Davis. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Began awkwardly and was slow to begin. Trotted roughly through the early stages before breaking racing into the first bend losing considerable ground.
GINAS MAJESTY - held up final bend. Hampered in the run home before breaking near the 50m.
AIGUILLE - fractious prior to the start causing a delay. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Broke at the start losing ground.
THE PRESENT MAKER - broke after 100m when leading losing considerable ground. Broke again near the 200m.
RACEY KRUSA - broke after 100m. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation when in a break in the early stages.
MERLOT - hampered after 100m and trotted roughly. Trotted roughly final bend and early in the run home before breaking near the 150m.
LA REINA DEL SUR - paced shortly after the start before breaking losing ground. Held up final bend and trotted roughly in the run home. Authorisation of 2nd placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed the mare had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation when in a break at the start.
MICKEY JAY - lay outwards final bend and trotted roughly. Driver M Williamson was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
DOCTOR LAVROS - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start. Broke near the 200m when leading.
MOONS WAY - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
Race 8   GARRARDS PACE
The start was delayed due to SEAPRIS requiring gear adjustments.
There was a further delay when PROTEUS reared and fell to the track prior to the start.
MEGAROCK - broke at the start losing ground.
ATOMIC TRAVELLER - broke briefly near the 2000m. Weakened in the run home. When questioned, driver M Williamson advised he was disappointed with the effort and could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and slow recovery. Stewards will follow up the progress of the gelding with connections in the coming days.
PROTEUS - underwent a veterinary examination at the start after rearing and falling to the track and was cleared to start. Sent to the unruly position by the Starter where the gelding will remain for future standing starts. Hampered shortly after the start. Weakened leaving the final bend.
MOODY RIVER - held up until late in the run home.
FRANK BURNS - broke briefly at the start.
SONIC REIGN - held up until late in the run home.
JAVASA - broke at the start before being contacted by an outside runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Weakened final bend.
SEAPRIS - trainer A Swain was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice under Rule 864(2)(d) for presenting the mare to race with hopples which had been incorrectly applied. Began awkwardly and shifted inwards making contact with the breaking JAVASA.
HILDA MAUD - broke after 100m losing ground. Cast a bell boot in the run home.
Trainer G Smith advised Stewards on 20 June that PROTEUS has been treated for a virus since last racing.
Trainer J Gray advised Stewards on 29 June that ATOMIC TRAVELLER has recovered well since its last start and he will continue with the gelding's current preparation.
Race 9   FIRST DIRECT TAXIS MOBILE PACE
SPIRIT OF ARDEN - held up until late in the run home.
MOTOR MOUTH - hampered by a weakening runner near the 600m.
THE TERRORFIER - when questioned regarding the improved performance driver R May advised the gelding had raced without luck at its last start and had benefited from the solid tempo of today's race when able to be saved for one run.
THE HORNET - over-raced in the score up. Weakened near the 600m hampering a trailing runner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards questioned driver G Smith regarding the tactics he adopted during the running. Mr Smith explained that his instructions had been to lead given the horse had performed well at its last start when driven in a similar manner. Mr Smith added the gelding had over-raced shortly after the start when he had attempted to restrain his runner and had then commenced to contact its sulky wheels placing him at a disadvantage. Mr Smith further added that the gelding had dropped the bit when challenged for the lead near the 600m and had proved disappointing. Mr Smith was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the back straight on the final occasion.
OFF THE EDGE - over-raced in the score up. Raced wide early.
MORRISSEY - broke briefly on the final bend. Driver G O'Reilly reported the gelding had hung inwards and made contact with the sulky wheel of an inside runner despite his efforts.
