Race 7 - MICO MOBILE PACE
Driver J Abernethy (PETER FORSBERG) admitted a charge under Rule 868(2) in that he failed to take all reasonable and permissible measures to ensure his horse was given full opportunity to win the race or obtain the best possible position and/or finishing place by holding the lead when challenged by RORY MCILROY (A Poutama) over the initial 700m which has resulted in PETER FORSBERG weakening near the 700m to finish in 10th place beaten 50.1 lengths. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Abernethy's Driver's Licence from the conclusion of racing on the 23rd June up to and including the 15 July 2022 (3 days) and imposed a fine of $400.
Driver A Poutama (RORY MCILROY) admitted a charge under Rule 868(2) in that he failed to take all reasonable and permissible measures to ensure his horse was given full opportunity to win the race or to obtain the best possible position and/or finishing place by persisting with a challenge for the lead, which was being held by PETER FORSBERG (J Abernethy), over the initial 700m and that this has resulted in the gelding weakening from near the 700m to finish in 11th place (last) beaten 85.8 lengths. After viewing the replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Poutama's Driver's Licence up to and including the 7th July 2022 (3 days) and imposed a fine of $300.

Race 4 - NZ ONION CO. MOBILE PACE
Driver S Phelan (MANNY) was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion on several occasions late in the run home.
Race 6 - POWELL TRANSPORT MOBILE PACE
Driver M McKendry (SIMPLY SAM) was issued with a charge under Rule 868(2) on the grounds that he failed to take all reasonable and permissible measures to ensure his horse was given full opportunity to win the race or to obtain the best possible position and/or finishing place by electing to shift down off the back of HARDER THAN DIAMONDS (T Mitchell) rounding the home turn to attempt to secure a run which did not eventuate resulting in SIMPLY SAM being held up throughout the home straight to finish in 7th place beaten 2.8 lengths. Mr McKendry admitted the charge and the matter was adjourned to a date, time and venue to be confirmed.

Race 1   RAY GAVIN HAPPY 80TH BIRTHDAY MOBILE PACE
SOME GIRLS DONT - held up rounding the final turn and early stages of the run home. Paced roughly then broke short of the finishing line and was lapped on by BROOKIES JAFFA. A Protest lodged under Rule 870(5) against this runner's 4th placing was not contested by connections and the filly was relegated to 5th place by the Adjudicative Committee.
JOHN WAYNE - lay out throughout the run home and locked wheels briefly with I'LLAVABUBBLES near the 50m.
I'LLAVABUBBLES - lay in marginally under pressure and locked wheels briefly with JOHN WAYNE near the 50m. When spoken to Co-trainer/Driver D Ferguson confirmed that the filly had contributed to this incident so Stewards took the matter no further.
MAKARA - lay in during the score up and over the early stages. Continued to lay in and over-race through the middle stages. Held up early in the run home.
Race 2   REHARVEST HANDICAP TROT
WHO'S QUEEN - broke at the start and trailed the field throughout.
SLIPPERY MISTRESS - broke at the start losing all chance.
TRAMPS LIKE US - weakened in the run home.
CYBER ATTACK - lay in rounding the final turn.
LOVE AND FAITH - over-raced middle stages.
MR MUSCLE - raced wide early stages.
Race 3   NZ HORSE AMBULANCE TRUST MOBILE PACE
MAJOR GRACE - held up for clear racing room until passing the 100m.
RONDA - commenced to give ground from the 800m.
PERFECT BET - raced wide early stages.
JONO B - raced lethargically during the middle stages. Lost ground near the 800m. Checked near the 600m.
RED QUESTRO - over-raced down the back the final time and rounding the home turn.
UPSIZE ME - paced roughly near the 1300m when attempting to improve three wide. Paced roughly again then broke near the 600m checking trailing runners. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Driver B Butcher advised that the gelding lost the near fore shoe during the running.
THE BIZZNESS - lay in entering the first turn and raced over several track markers. Lay in again passing the 1250m dislodging a track marker. Checked near the 600m.
OHOKA CREED - raced keenly through the middle stages. Checked near the 600m.
TUGAWAR - threw its head on numerous occasions during the running.
Race 4   LINCOLN FARMS MOBILE PACE
NEPTUNE - driver M McKendry dropped his right foot from the sulky footrest near the 1300m when activating the deafeners. Mr McKendry was reminded of his obligation to return his foot to the footrest promptly given similar circumstances in the future.
ON DEADLINE - lay in and paced roughly for several strides near the 1400m when being eased from a three wide position to take a trail in the running line.
Race 5   JOHN ROSS MEMORIAL HANDICAP TROT
PRESIDENTIAL JEWEL - gave ground from the 400m.
JASINOVA - broke shortly after the start but soon settled. Gave ground from the 400m.
SPECIAL WAY - lay in rounding the turn near the 1250m dislodging a track marker. Trotted roughly at various stages.
CALL ME TROUBLE - lay in rounding the turns.
Race 6   THE ALEX BAR & EATERY MOBILE PACE
ABHISHEK - over-raced middle stages when outside the leader. Broke near the 250m hampering a trailing runner but soon settled.
WHOOSHKA - over-raced middle stages. Briefly hampered by a breaking runner near 250m. Held up early in the run home.
ZARIAS - paced roughly late in the score up before being taken forward to lead entering the first turn.
BENJAMIN BUTTON - commenced to over-race near the 1400m and became awkwardly placed to the sulky of MIDFREW LUCRE which resulted in that runner's outside sulky wheel being contacted and punctured. Continued to over-race throughout the middle stages. Stewards questioned Junior Driver T Hanara (assisted by J Abernethy) and were satisfied that the racing manners of BENJAMIN BUTTON had contributed to the incident near the 1400m however notwithstanding this, Ms Hanara was reminded of her obligations in the future.
Race 7   REX & MARGARET HAMLEY MEMORIAL HANDICAP PACE
A false start was declared at the first attempt due to the 20m barrier strand failing to release. All barriers were hand-held for the re-start.
OHOKA ACHILLES - weakened in the run home. Trainer/driver O Gillies reported that the near side hopple shortener became entangled around the middle carrier after having released correctly.
BAD MEDICINE - late scratching at 2.28pm on veterinary advice.
MIMI E COCO - raced keenly through the middle stages.
MELANION - broke briefly at the start. Stewards investigated an incident near the 2100m where this runner raced three wide briefly after MIMI E COCO shifted away out from the marker line. It was established that Driver B Butcher (MIMI E COCO) had commenced his outward movement prior to MELANION covering his sulky wheel and no further action was deemed necessary.
NEW YORK MINUTE - over-raced through the middle stages.
There was an issue with the TAB in relation to the paying out of dividends for this event.
Race 8   NISBA FILLIES & MARES MOBILE TROT
The start of this event was delayed for several minutes due to the TAB issue with the payout from the previous race.
EMMA JOY - broke at the start checking a second row runner and lost considerable ground. The filly was placed on the Unruly for future mobile starts. Gave ground final turn.
RUMOUR HAS IT - broke near the 1400m and was retired from this event after slipping its crupper whilst in the break.
BRIENNE - lost ground racing down the back the final time.
ASTERIA LAVRA - broke approaching the 1100m when leading and lost its chance. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
ALDEBARAN KEEPA - raced wide early stages.
MY ROYAL ROXY - broke near the 1400m losing its chance. A warning was placed on the mare's racing manners.
EMMA FROST - raced wide early stages.
ALDEBARAN FLAME - checked by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
Race 9   TOM STUCKEY MEMORIAL "SOUTH OF THE BOMBAYS" 2022 ( MOB PACE)
VOODOO PRINCE - lay in rounding the final turn contacting a track marker.
WATCH AND LEARN - lay in entering the first turn.
NELSON'S BOY - lay in rounding the final turn when improving wide.
PETER FORSBERG - held up by a weakening runner rounding the final turn then had some difficulty obtaining clear running early in the home straight.
RUN MASON RUN - lay in rounding the final turn.
PLAY BALL - weakened in the run home.
MALAKA MISS - over-raced in the early stages before being taken around three wide to race outside the leader near the 1700m. Weakened passing the 400m.
JACK TAR - improved wide from the 850m. Lay in entering the run home then shifted out when corrected.
Race 10   WED QUIZ NIGHT AT THE ALEX TROT
ULTIMATE MOMENT - broke shortly after the start and galloped a considerable distance before settling at the rear. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
PLAY FOOTSIE - weakened final stages.
PRESIDENTS TOPSHOT - broke near the 400m losing its chance.
MONT BLANC - broke briefly in the score up and was back from the unruly position at dispatch.
