MOODY RIVER - held up final turn and early in the run home. When questioned regarding the tactics he adopted rounding the home turn Driver A Fitzgerald stated that the gelding had raced best when able to be saved for one run so he had elected not to follow R K FINN out to a three wide position as he felt his best option was to look to save ground by improving forward one out. Mr Fitzgerald further explained R K FINN appeared to be under pressure leaving the back straight and felt this runner may not have taken him forward at that stage which also influenced his decision.
