Race 1   MURRAY GRAY MEMORIAL MOBILE TROT
PYRAMID MYSTIC - hung outwards through the early and middle stages then lay inwards under pressure late in the run home.
ALLABOUTTHEMOMENT - broke in the score-up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
CRUSHER COLLINS - when asked to comment on the improved performance trainer L Bond advised the mare had taken natural benefit from its first up run at Addington on 29 April and performs best when racing from a mobile start.
Race 2   RHEEM/PETER COCKS FOR DAIRY CYLINDERS MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared when BETTER ROBYN broke in the score-up and shifted outwards making heavy contact with the outside fence, dislodging driver D Anderson from the sulky and escaping driverless for some distance before being caught. Mr Anderson was examined by the St John Ambulance Paramedics and cleared of any injury. BETTER ROBYN was declared a late scratching at 12.31pm by order of the Stewards with connections advised that the gelding was stood down to complete one mobile trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming. Co-trainer R Wilson advised that BETTER ROBYN would now be sent for a spell. A subsequent veterinary examination cleared the gelding of any injury. The start of this race was subsequently delayed approximately 11 minutes.
FOVEAUX STRAIT - paced roughly in the score-up.
BETTERTHANAROCKET - lay inwards over the concluding stages having to be corrected by its driver.
ROBYN X - weakened on the final bend.
Race 3   MM BRANDS MARES MOBILE PACE
The start time of this race was rescheduled to 1.03pm due to the delay in the previous.
TASHS BAD GIRL - had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight.
STEEL CRUSHER - had difficulty obtaining clear running throughout the home straight with driver S Ottley reporting she did not release the removable deafeners or activate the sliding blinds as a consequence.
SHERWOOD MAGGIE - over-raced in the score-up and through the early stages when being restrained.
Race 4   DUX INDUSTRIES MOBILE PACE
The start time of this race was re-scheduled to 1.25pm due to the delay with Race 2.
TEDDY BAKER - held up early in the run home and again over the concluding stages.
JACCKA OPA - paced roughly racing into the first bend. Raced three-wide without cover throughout.
ART PROFILE - raced wide with cover throughout.
SIR LANCELOT - when asked to comment on the performance driver M Williamson expressed disappointment however could offer no tangible excuse. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the gelding with connections in the coming days.
NGAROMA - broke in the score-up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
BAILEYS ART - lay inwards racing into the first bend dislodging a track marker.
Stable representative T Nally advised Stewards on 19 May that SIR LANCELOT had recovered well following its last start and they will continue with the gelding's current preparation.
Race 5   RWC RELIANCE WORLDWIDE CORPORATION MOBILE TROT
JOEDIUM - broke racing into the first bend losing all chance.
TWO MENNY MUSCLES - broke shortly after the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
WINNING BONES - held up by a weakening runner on the final bend.
STEEL DUST - trotted roughly through the middle stages. Held up by a weakening runner on the final bend and broke briefly. Broke again late in the run home.
TOP POCKET CHANCE - slow through the early stages. When asked to comment on the improved performance trainer C Buchan advised that the gelding had derived benefit from recent racing, appreciated a drop in class and the mobile start today.
ANDIAMO - weakened from the 400 metres.
Race 6   PLUMBING WORLD MOBILE PACE
THE MIGHTY MONDO - broke shortly after the start hampering trailing runners. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
THE BIG LEBOWSKI - hampered shortly after the start by a breaking runner. When asked to comment on the improved performance connections advised that the gelding had benefitted from racing on the larger track today.
BOOTIES DELIGHT - hampered shortly after the start by a breaking runner. Raced wide without cover from the 900 metres. Weakened from the 500 metres.
WHITE DIAMOND GOLD - hampered shortly after the start by a breaking runner. Held up early in the run home.
NYLA - connections reported the mare has had its hocks treated since last racing. Held up until late in the run home with driver A Armour reporting he did not activate the sliding blinds as a consequence.
YOUNG GEORGE - over-raced in the early and middle stages when leading.
HALEY ROBYN - hampered shortly after the start by a breaking runner. Lay outwards rounding the final bend.
THE JAFA EXPRESS - hampered shortly after the start by a breaking runner.
RAKANOTTA - hampered shortly after the start by a breaking runner.
I'M WATCHING YOU - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home.
Race 7   BUTELINE NZ LTD MOBILE PACE
BEAUDIENE HUSTLER - weakened on the final bend.
SZYBKA LANE - over-raced in the middle stages.
AIRWAVES - lay outwards leaving the final bend and broke after becoming awkwardly placed to the inside of BETA THAN LOVE which was placed in restricted room momentarily when MEMPHIS TENNESSEE shifted inwards. Stewards spoke with driver R McIlwrick and junior driver T Larsen (assisted by B Williamson) regarding this incident where it was established that AIRWAVES had hung outwards when weakening, simultaneous to MEMPHIS TENNESSEE laying inwards when improving wider on the track which resulted in inside runners being crowded. After considering the matter Stewards were mindful of the racing manners of AIRWAVES however advised Mr Larsen (MEMPHIS TENNESSEE) that it was expected he make a greater effort to allow sufficient room for inside runners in future.
BETA THAN LOVE - crowded leaving the final bend by an outside runner.
MOGUL - junior driver W House reported a sulky tyre had deflated during the running.
Race 8   MICO PLUMBING & BATHROOMS MOBILE PACE
LOCK IT IN EDDIE - held up on the final bend then had difficulty obtaining clear running in the run home.
ARCHAIC LUSTRE - over-raced in the middle stages. Lay inwards rounding the final bend when weakening.
MIGHTHAVTIME - lay inwards rounding the final bend.
FIREFOREFIDDLE - over-raced in the middle stages.
HOKONUI SAM - paced roughly shortly after the start and shifted outwards.
Race 9   HYDROFLOW DISTRIBUTORS LTD MOBILE PACE
LIVY DESMA - trainer L Bond was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for failing to affix the off-hind bandage so as not to come adrift.
DANGEROUS - hung outwards when leading through the back straight on the final occasion. Driver R McIlwrick admitted a charge under Rule 869(7A)(c) that he drove carelessly near the 700 metres when allowing his runner to shift ground inwards when insufficiently clear of AMERICAN EYRETIME which was forced over track markers. After viewing replays and considering penalty submissions the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $300. Weakened leaving the final bend.
MEOHMYMARTINI - retired from the race shortly after the start when a sulky tyre punctured and came off the rim.
AMERICAN EYRETIME - placed in restricted room near the 700 metres and struck several track markers when DANGEROUS shifted ground inwards.
I'M TROUBLE - weakened from the 1400 metres. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have suffered an atrial fibrillation. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance including an ECG following strenuous exercise.
WOLFENSTEIN - weakened on the final bend.
SAGWITCH - weakened on the final bend.
CARRERA DANCE - over-raced in the early stages and despite the efforts of driver B Barclay contacted the sulky wheel of MEOHMYMARTINI which was being restrained to obtain cover. After hearing from Mr Barclay and viewing the films Stewards took the matter no further.
