---|---|
COLONEL LINCOLN - held up early final turn. | |
LUKAKU - lay in throughout the running contacting marker pegs near the 900 metres. Continued to lay in losing ground rounding the final turn. | |
PERFECT BET - lay out rounding the turns and in particular the final turn losing ground. Paced roughly passing the 200 metres when shifting ground outwards in search of clear running. Continued to pace roughly for some distance before racing in restricted room inside the 50 metres. When questioned Driver D Butcher confirmed that the filly had lay out rounding the final turn and then again after he had activated the deafeners before running up onto the back of the leader so he felt that his best option was to allow the filly to shift wider rather than having to restrain in order to attempt to use the passing lane. | |
TIME OUT - over-raced throughout. Held up early final turn. Paced roughly passing the 200 metres. |
Race 4 LONE STAR ALEXANDRA PARK MOBILE TROT | |
---|---|
DELLARIO - Trainer K Marshall was issued with a warning for the late notification that the gelding would be racing without the notified pacifier. Appeared to drop the bit when leading passing the 1800 metres and shifted up the track before being corrected by Driver T Herlihy. Shifted out leaving the back straight the final time before weakening on the home turn. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners. | |
ESCAPE THE PACE - broke racing into the first turn losing all chance. | |
ISLA ELSIE - broke near the 500 metres losing its chance. When questioned Driver J Dunn explained that he had sufficient room to improve to the inside of DELLARIO due to that runner shifting up the track but then broke free of interference. The replays supported Mr Dunn's explanation and no further action was deemed necessary. | |
IN SEQUENCE - shifted out entering the home straight. | |
CRAZY - broke late in the score up losing all chance and was retired from the event. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners. | |
LIAISON - broke for several strides at the start losing ground. | |

---|---|
KANGO - unsuccessfully contested for the early lead before attempting to shift down to trail BETTOR TWIST passing the 2200 metres but was then taken back up the track by Driver D Butcher after SELF ASSURED had established its running to his inside. Was able to shift down to trail the leader near the 1900 metres when SELF ASSURED was eased before that runner was taken forward to lead near the 1650 metres. | |
MACH DAN - raced three wide early and middle stages before being restrained to the rear near the 1800 metres. | |
SPANKEM - when questioned regarding the performance Driver N Rasmussen reported that the gelding felt flat throughout probably due to feeling the effect of recent racing and will go for a brief spell before continuing its preparation. | |
MAJESTIC CRUISER - raced keenly middle stages. Raced four wide from the 400 metres and shifted out early in the run home. | |
SOUTH COAST ARDEN - late scratching at 11.03am on veterinary advice. | |
HOT AND TREACHEROUS - broke early in the score up but was in position prior to the candy pole. Co-trainer G Hughes advised that the gelding had sprung the near fore shoe during the running. | |
CRANBOURNE - commenced to over-race when in the parked position approaching the 1400 metres. Was allowed to roll forward by Driver M Williamson passing the 800 metres to race in advance of the leader SELF ASSURED before commencing to weaken inside the 300 metres. When questioned Mr Williamson advised that the gelding had been striking the sulky wheel with its near hind causing it to over-race. | |
SOUTH COAST ARDEN - Trainer B Mangos advised Stewards on 5 May that the gelding had scoped clear after a recent virus and would continue with his preparation toward the upcoming Waikato Flying Mile on 12 May. |
Race 8 AUCKLAND & ROWE CUP NOMS CLOSE MAY 6 MOBILE PACE | |
