Race Comments

Race 1   HIDDEN LAKE HOTEL MOBILE PACE
ABHISHEK - the near side number became detached and hung loose passing the 100 metres. Paced roughly over the final stages and briefly locked sulky stays with RIVERMAN SAM near the 50 metres.
MAHIA DREAMIN - lay in rounding the final turn.
RIVERMAN SAM - had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight and briefly locked sulky stays with ABHISHEK near the 50 metres.
ENJOY ME - driver A Harrison was warned for using her whip in a continuous manner in the run home.
NELSON'S BOY - paced roughly entering the first turn. Raced keenly during the middle stages and tended to lay in.
Race 2   MCMILLAN EQUINE FEEDS TROT
HIGHVIEW ROCKN ROLL - began awkwardly. Broke racing into the first bend hampering trailing runners, then switched to a pace losing its chance. Trainer D Cossey reported there had been an issue with the rein pole which had affected the steering and resulted in the mare switching to a pace.
WINNERS TIME - broke shortly after the start and trailed the field. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Placed on the Unruly for future standing start engagements at the request of co-trainers A & L Neal.
VORONOV - briefly locked wheels with DORIS RAE near the 900 metres after being shifted wider on the track. Lost contact with the field briefly leaving the back straight the final time.
REIGN - badly hampered by a breaking runner rounding the first turn and raced over track markers. Removed from the unruly for future stands.
FLYING SCOTSMAN - raced wide early. When asked to comment on the improved performance Trainer R Paynter advised that the gelding had been breaking in its recent racing and that manners had been the key in tonight's event.
PHOEBE MAJESTIC - fractious prior to the start. Slow over the early stages. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 1800 metres. Broke passing the 1300 metres losing ground before settling.
SIR HENRY CASTLETON - broke near the 1700 metres losing all chance. Removed from the unruly for future stands.
DORIS RAE - broke briefly at the start. Briefly locked wheels with VORONOV near the 900 metres.
Race 3   WOODLANDS STUD MOBILE PACE
TASTE OF DIAMONDS - over-raced in the trailing position throughout and lay in rounding the turns.
MHAI TOMMIE - held up late in the run home.
JONO B - lay in and contacted track markers approaching the 800 metres.
VICTOR BRAVO - broke near the 400 metres losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
Race 4   CAMBRIDGE HOMES MOBILE PACE
The start was delayed approximately 2 minutes due to the sulky seat on MO SZYSLAK requiring some adjustment.
BET ON THE TIGER - when asked to comment on the disappointing performance driver Z Butcher advised that the gelding had received every opportunity when setting its own terms in front however may not have been suited by the 2700 metres of tonight's event.
RUN MASON RUN - over-raced throughout.
MO SZYSLAK - over-raced near the 1150 metres and became awkwardly positioned close to the sulky of MR WONDERFUL. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 400 metres.
COMEDY ACT - driver A Harrison was warned for coming to the mobile in an incorrect barrier position before being corrected by the Starter. Paced roughly passing the 1400 metres. Over-raced in the middle stages when at the rear.
IDEAL TOMADO - paced roughly near the 800 metres.
MR WONDERFUL - broke near the 400 metres hampering a trailing runner and lost all chance. Stood down to trial on one occasion to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming.
Race 5   SHAWS MOBILE PACE
BRI EXPRESS - held up early on the final turn.
IMASHADOWPRINCESS - broke near the 1900 metres hampering trailing runners and losing its chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
BORIS YELTSIN - hampered by a breaking runner approaching the 1800 metres. Held up early final turn.
PRIVATE EYE - raced wide early.
NEXT TO ME - raced wide early. Checked by a breaking runner near the 800 metres and raced wide for the remainder.
FLETCH MAGUIRE - raced wide early. Lay in rounding the final turn when weakening.
ANDY QUICK - checked by a breaking runner approaching the 1800 metres. Broke near the 700 metres checking a trailing runner and lost ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Weakened on the final turn.
THE BIZZNESS - lay in striking several track markers near the 200 metres. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be showing signs of a respiratory infection. Stewards will follow up the recovery with trainer B Mangos in the coming days.
AMERICAN MAID - over-raced in the early and middle stages.
MISS LIPPIE - broke early in the score-up and was well back from position at dispatch before catching the field in the middle stages. The filly was subsequently stood down from mobile starts to complete one trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming. Weakened on the final turn.
Race 6   DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS HANDICAP TROT
MOLLY BELLE - broke briefly at the start. Underwent a veterinary examination at the request of connections which revealed the mare to be showing signs of a respiratory infection. Stewards will follow up the recovery with trainer J Stormont in the coming days.
FUNNY FACE - broke briefly at the start.
PRESIDENTIAL JEWEL - raced keenly in the middle stages. Broke under pressure passing the 100 metres and failed to settle.
AFLYIN SPUR - slow to begin.
Trainer J Stormont advised Stewards on 5 May that MOLLY BELLE has been treated for a respiratory infection since last racing.
Race 7   GAVELHOUSE.COM MOBILE PACE
THEMIGHTY MIKI - lay out rounding the final turn.
THE SPORTSMAN - lay out rounding the turns. Held up rounding the final turn.
CLAUDE - paced roughly over the early stages. Paced roughly again near the 150 metres.
Race 8   BOOK MOTHERS DAY AT THE CLUBHOUSE MOBILE TROT
The start was delayed approximately 6 minutes due to KEYSTONE COMET requiring farrier attention. Stewards extended leniency when assessing horse penalties for this race due to the delay.
MONT BLANC - broke late in the score-up losing considerable ground.
RUN FOREST RUN - the required veterinary clearance was received. Broke in the score-up and was several lengths out of position at the start. Over-raced in the middle stages before being taken forward to lead approaching the 1050 metres. Lay in near the 200 metres then shifted out marginally when being corrected.
PRESIDENTS TOPSHOT - raced without the near side number after a strap broke in the preliminary. Broke near the 1050 metres losing all chance.
DEBBIE LEE GALLEON - hampered late in the score-up by a breaking runner. Broke passing the 150 metres losing its chance.
