Trainer J Harrington advised Stewards on 7 January that TAS GIRL BROMAC has been treated for a virus since racing at Reefton and will resume at Richmond on Sunday.

Co-trainer M Purdon advised Stewards on 7 January that BETTOR TWIST has recovered well since arriving back at its Christchurch base and will resume at Addington later in the month pending a clear blood test.

Race 1   BMTT / DESIGN ART MOBILE PACE
MACH'S ELIMINATOR - when questioned regarding the performance driver B Butt reported that the mare had over-raced throughout due to the unsuitable tempo of the race.
JIBE - trainer S Smolenski was issued with a warning for presenting the gelding without the notified blinds. Out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver J Cox. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
CORFU BROMAC - raced wide early stages.
BUDDY REIGN - cleared from the unruly for future mobile starts.
WHITE DIAMOND GOLD - cleared from the unruly for future mobile starts. Held up final bend.
Race 2   TOWN & COUNTRY VETS HANDICAP TROT
NORDIC PRINCE - trotted roughly in the run home.
LA DAMA - broke racing into the first bend losing ground. Held up for clear racing room until late in the run home. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly.
TIGHT N BRIGHT - paced before breaking leaving the final bend and was shifted wider on the track by its driver to avoid trailing runners.
NORTIE NORTIE - driver J Cox reported that he had not released the gelding's deafeners due to having the field covered. When spoken to regarding the improved performance Mr Cox advised that the gelding had appreciated a significant drop in class from its last start.
SILK JACKET - broke shortly after the start losing ground. Hampered by a breaking runner leaving the final bend.
GOTTA TICKET - tangled away. Broke near the 600 metres losing all chance.
ZSAHARA - hampered leaving the final bend.
Race 3   PALMS MOTEL / NBS PACE
FLEETING MAJOR - tangled away. When spoken to regarding the improved performance driver S Tomlinson reported that the gelding had been suited to a more economical run than in recent starts and had been able to captilise.
SOUTH SEAS ROCK - broke at the start losing ground.
GANA - hampered by a breaking runner near the 150 metres. Held up throughout the run home.
RAKERO'S DELIGHT - shifted outwards a small margin in an abrupt manner passing the 200 metres checking an outside runner. A warning was placed on the filly's racing record.
WATCHING OUR COIN - despite the efforts of driver M Edmonds was unable to cross to the lead during the middle stages even after being able to establish a margin over the inside runner. Broke near the 200 metres after making contact with the sulky wheel of an inside runner which had shifted outwards abruptly.
JUTE - paced roughly over the concluding stages and had to be steadied.
BLUE ROCK DANCER - broke racing into the first bend losing ground.
AMARLA - broke at the start losing ground.
FALCON'S MONARCH - hampered by a breaking runner near the 150 metres.
MAXIMILIAN - hampered by a breaking runner near the 150 metres.
Race 4   REDWOOD STABLES HOLIDAY PARK MOBILE PACE
FLO MOTION - held up early stages of the run home.
GOSAKHI - held up early stages of the run home.
DONMARO - raced greenly and hung inwards when utilising the passing lane near the 200 metres and had to be corrected by driver B Orange.
HIMSELF - broke near the 200 metres. Authorisation of 3rd placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied that the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation and had not galloped in excess of 50 metres.
ROLLWITHIT - raced wide without cover from the 900 metres. Weakened leaving the final bend. Driver S Ottley reported that she sustained a punctured sulky tyre in the early stages of the run home.
OPAWA LOUIE - raced wide early stages.
HELLS ART - held up early stages of the run home.
MELANDO CHIEF - hung outwards and paced roughly near the 1100 metres hampering an outside runner. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Held up early stages of the run home.
SHEEZA PURLA - hampered near the 1100 metres. Held up for the majority of the run home. Stewards questioned driver A Cameron (assisted by M Purvis) regarding the manner in which she drove leaving the final bend when her runner made contact with the sulky wheel of ROLLWITHIT. Miss Cameron explained that her mare was over-racing and had improved quickly onto the back of the weakening ROLLWITHIT after being held up for clear running. She also added that soon after this she had been contacted from behind by the trailing MELANDO CHIEF when shifting ground inwards and made contact with the sulky wheel of ROLLWITHIT. After considering the matter and the consequential effects, Stewards took the matter no further other than to remind her of her obligations.
Race 5   HOANI JACK CUP (MOBILE PACE)
DIXIE REIGN - weakened near the 600 metres.
SUNTAN - broke in the score up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Weakened final bend.
MANHATTAN - broke in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
JUST HOLLA - weakened final bend.
SMIFFY'S TERROR - raced four wide for a short distance passing the 1500 metres. Stewards investigated a possible breach of the Push Out Rule at this stage of the race where it was established that JUST HOLLA had shifted outwards prior to SMIFFY'S TERROR reaching its sulky wheel. Accordingly no further action was taken.
Race 6   TOMMY BEHRNS TROT
OUR PEGASUS PEARL - slow through the early stages. Trotted roughly entering the first bend losing further ground.
MIKEMARO - broke at the start. Lay outwards through the final straight.
ROSSCO TROUBLE - broke at the start losing all chance.
ANNA'S BOY - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
SOUTH PARK - broke racing into the first bend losing all chance.
RUAKAKA - trotted roughly over the concluding stages and had to be steadied.
MENTALIST - broke near the 250 metres.
Race 7   CLUB WAIMEA MOBILE PACE
CAB CALLOWAY - held up final bend.
FRANCO CORNEL - weakened from the 700 metres. When questioned regarding the performance driver R Close reported that the gelding was unsuited to having its lead pressured by an over-racing runner throughout.
BELLE'S BOY - over-raced through the middle stages causing driver A Cameron considerable difficulty. Weakened final bend.
SOMEDREAMSOMEWHERE - raced wide throughout. Weakened final bend.
JUDGEMENT BAY - over-raced early and middle stages. Shifted outwards abruptly near the 1000 metres and fell to the track. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled from both nostrils. Stood down for the mandatory 30 day period with connections advised that a veterinary clearance including the results of an endoscopic examination prior to a satisfactory trial would be required before the mare resumes racing. Driver L O'Reilly was unharmed in this incident.
WESTBURN BLISS - held up final bend. Lay inwards throughout the run home.
SHEELASINLEAGUE - unable to cross down to the parked position due to the horse in that place racing fiercely and consequently raced wide throughout. Weakened final bend.
WITH GRACE - held up final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
Race 8   TRATHEN TROT HANDICAP TROT
WANNA PLAY WITH ME - when spoken to regarding the performance driver T Williams could offer no tangible explanation and was disappointed with the mare's performance.
SHOW ME THE GRAY - when spoken to regarding the performance driver R Close reported that the gelding had been unsuited to racing parked from the 1300 metres.
HIGHGROVE - lay inwards and trotted roughly in the home straight.
Race 9   NELSON PINE INDUSTRIES NELSON CUP (HANDICAP PACE)
JAZELLE - broke at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
ALLAMERICANLOVER - began awkwardly.
ARDEN'S REALITY - broke at the start.
BOOM - broke at the start losing ground.
ABOVE N BEYOND - paced roughly and broke near the 150 metres.
SHAN NOBLE - began awkwardly and shifted outwards as the start was effected.
DI CAPRIO - when spoken to regarding the performance driver S Ottley reported that the entire had raced lethargically throughout and had been very disappointing. Miss Ottley also added the removable deafeners could not be released due to the cord breaking but felt this had no bearing on the horse's performance. The gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition. A post-race Veterinary examination of the entire revealed no abnormalities.
Race 10   DAVE & JAN BIRDLING SPORTS TRUST PACE
LOYALIST - broke briefly at the start.
PEMBROOK TILLY - hampered at the start and began awkwardly as a result. Over-raced middle stages.
EMMA'S BOY - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
UNCLE CHAN - broke at the start.
SCELTA UNO - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
SOPHIA BROMAC - driver S O'Reilly was spoken to advisedly to ensure that she starts wider on the track when drawn unruly.
Race 11   DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS MOBILE PACE
PRECIOUS SARA - broke in the early stages of the score up, however was able to take up its allocated position at the start.
KANSAS CITY JIM - broke near the 100 metres. A final warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
ELO LOUISE - paced roughly in the run home and was unable to be fully driven out.
CELTIC SPIRIT - over-raced middle stages. Held up early stages of the run home.
EYECON - held up early stages of the run home.
