Race 1   CRAIG HEYRICK AT HARCOURTS TROT
JASMINE JACCKA - lay inwards rounding the final bend.
IN THE GROOVE - Trainer B Gray admitted a breach of Rule 865(2) when presenting this gelding to race without the notified Blinds and after hearing submissions on penalty the Judicial Committee imposed a fine of $150. Broke at the start losing considerable ground.
THE POWER BROKER - lay inwards rounding the final bend contacting track markers.
HOT SAUCY BETTY - broke at the start losing all chance.
DENN NEE'S SISTER - trotted roughly leaving the first bend.
MAJESTIC JAG - trotted roughly when leading passing the 1000 metres. Again trotted roughly rounding the final bend. Broke passing the 150 metres losing its chance. A warning was placed on the racing manners of the gelding.
ANDIAMO - Driver K Larsen reported he did not release the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
Race 2   SOUTHLAND EXPRESS MOBILE PACE
CAST A SHADOW - held up in the early to middle stages of the home straight.
KAGEE VC - held up by a tiring runner rounding the final bend and through the early and middle stages of the run home.
HAZER - held up rounding the final bend.
SANTANNA MACH - Driver B Orange reported he did not release the removable deafeners due to having the field covered. When asked to comment on the improved performance stable representative T Dewe advised the gelding is very well in itself, had trained well in the lead up to today and had received a run to suit.
SAGWITCH - weakened rounding the final bend.
FRANCO HUNTINGTON - raced wide in the early stages. Improved three-wide from the 1500 metres until reaching the parked position near the 1250 metres where the gelding raced thereafter.
AIRWAVES - paced roughly in the score-up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
Race 3   WAXY'S IRISH PUB FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
AH MACH - weakened from the 700 metres. When asked to comment on the performance Driver O Kite could offer no explanation. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the mare. Stewards will follow up with Trainer N Williamson in the coming days.
DIDSHEDOIT - raced wide in the early stages.
EMMA STONE - held up rounding the final bend. When asked to comment on the improved performance Trainer/Driver P Hunter advised the mare had been freshened since its last start and had drawn benefit from an economical run today.
TASHS BAD GIRL - lay outwards in the score-up however was able to take its allotted barrier position at the dispatch. Driver A Kyle was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the home straight.
VERA SPECIAL - badly hampered by a tiring runner near the 700 metres. Driver E Swain was warned for improper driving at this stage of the race when failing to avoid the tiring runner.
SUPERFAST - held up rounding the final bend.
Trainer N Williamson advised Stewards on 27 May that AH MACH has recovered well following its performance at Ascot Park on Saturday and is of the opinion that the mare may have choked down in the running. Mr Williamson added that AH MACH will return to workouts prior to resuming.
Race 4   REGENT CAR COURT MOBILE PACE
MAN I'M GOOD - when asked to comment on the performance Trainer/Driver A Kyle advised the gelding was suited by an economical trip from an inside barrier. A Kyle admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and Whip & Rein Regs when using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion and in a continuous manner in the home straight. After viewing replays and hearing submissions on penalty the Judicial Committee imposed a suspension of Mr Kyle's licence to drive from the conclusion of racing today up to and including the 10th June (3 days).
SAINT TROPEZ - held up in the early stages of the run home and again over the concluding stages.
MAGNETIC WATCH - underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination after not having raced for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start.
DALNESS ARIZONA - lay inwards rounding the final bend.
I'M WATCHING YOU - held up for clear racing room over the concluding stages.
NORTHVIEW PEG - over-raced when being restrained to obtain cover shortly after the start.
MIDNIGHT IN MEMPHIS - Driver B Orange reported he was unable to release the removable deafeners due to the connecting clip becoming entangled.
Race 5   MAGNUM AUTOMOTIVE GROUP TROT
MAKE MY DAY - broke passing the 900 metres losing all chance. Stood down to complete one satisfactory trial prior to racing next.
IT'S SUMMERTIME - broke at the start. Again broke over the concluding stages.
PRINCE ENVY - broke at the start losing all chance. Stood down to complete one satisfactory standing start trial prior to racing next.
MISS BAMBOOCHA - broke briefly at the start.
RUBY SEDDON - broke passing the 200 metres.
MR OLYMPUS - briefly hampered by a breaking runner near the 900 metres. Contacted a number of track markers on the final bend. Driver M Shirley will be spoken to in the coming days regarding this.
Race 6   ILT JUNIOR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE
LINCOLN MOMENT - weakened from the 700 metres. When asked to comment on the performance Driver S Tomlinson could offer no explanation. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering from a fever. Trainer S Matheson advised he will have blood tests conducted on return to his home stable which Stewards will follow up in the coming days. Connections were advised LINCOLN MOMENT is stood down pending a Veterinary clearance prior to racing next.
CHANGEAROUND - lay outwards rounding the final bend and in the early stages of the home straight. Driver M Hill was spoken to regarding the tactics he adopted in the home straight when allowing a trailing runner to access the Passing Lane before his runner. Mr Hill explained he went to release the removable deafeners and once he had done this he realised he had been beaten to the Passing Lane by the trailing runner. Stewards accepted Mr Hill's comments however reminded him that his obligation is to steer his horse first before activating gear.
RACING MINISTER - raced wide in the early stages until obtaining cover near the 1500 metres.
JABALI - out of position at the start despite the efforts of Driver T Larsen. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
CELEBRATING - paced roughly and broke in the score-up. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
Race 7   WANAKA AUTO ELECTRICAL & MECHANICAL MOBILE PACE
MAAHES - over-raced in the middle stages. Held up rounding the final bend.
TAC MAC - raced three-wide without cover from the 1000 metres.
RAKANOTTA - lay inwards over the concluding stages.
PORT AU PRINCE - Driver P Hunter was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the home straight.
AMERICAN MAC - lay inwards in the score-up.
BELLE'S BOY - lay outwards through the early stages.
Race 8   RYAL BUSH TRANSPORT HANDICAP TROT
HARRY H - weakened rounding the final bend.
STEVE - trotted roughly rounding the final bend.
SPOTLIGHT THE VALLEY - weakened rounding the final bend.
KING OF THE NORTH - over-raced in the middle stages.
NOTTINGHAM K TWO - trotted roughly on various occasions during the running. Weakened from the 700 metres. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the gelding with trainer G Orr in the coming days.
GET LUCKY - fractious prior to the start. Reared and swung sideways as the tapes were released then refused to step away, losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
ULTIMATE STRIDE - Driver M Williamson advised he did not release the removable deafeners nor activate the sliding blinds due to having the field covered.
Trainer G Orr advised Stewards on 24 May that NOTTINGHAM K TWO has recovered well following its run at Ascot Park on Saturday and will continue with its current preparation.
Race 9   REX MCGREGOR & JANICE PURCHASE / SSBA MOBILE PACE
BETTER GALLEON - briefly hampered leaving the final bend by a breaking runner.
SMOKIN ANNIE - late scratching on Veterinary advice at 1.19pm.
ESPECIAL - broke briefly rounding the first bend free of interference. Again broke leaving the final bend free of interference.
MISS AUCKLAND - held up through the early and middle stages of the run home.
DACHY - held up in the early to middle stages of the home straight.
Race 10   BLUFF RACE DAY 5TH JUNE MOBILE PACE
ARLO MAGUIRE - hampered by a breaking runner racing into the first bend. Held up in the early and middle stages of the run home.
TOMMYSONAROLL - broke briefly in the score-up after making contact with the mobile arm however recovered to take up its allotted barrier position at the dispatch.
PADDY FINN - broke after 200 metres hampering a trailing runner and losing considerable ground in consequence. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Held up through the middle stages of the run home. The near side number came adrift during the running.
ROCK MY MIND - late scratching on Veterinary advice at 12.10pm. Connections were advised a Veterinary clearance would be required prior to the mare racing next.
WONTHAVTIME - briefly hampered by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
