Driver N Rasmussen (WILLOW BAY) was warned for using her whip free of the rein in the middle stages of the run home.

Race 8 - LAMB & HAYWARD (JUNIOR DRIVERS) MOBILE PACE
Trainer R Todd advised Stewards on 11 May that blood tests taken from STAC revealed no abnormalities with the gelding continuing with its current preparation.
Race 10 - FIRST DIRECT TAXIS MOBILE PACE
Trainer B Negus advised Stewards on 11 May that PERFECT CUT was found to be suffering from greasy heel after its performance at Addington last week and in consequence has been sent for a spell.

Race 4 - GARRARDS YOUNG AT HEART MOBILE PACE
Trainer M House advised Stewards that RIPSNORTER had bled following this race with the gelding being stood down for the mandatory 30 days. A veterinary clearance including the results of an endoscopic examination prior to a satisfactory trial would also be required prior to RIPSNORTER resuming.

Driver B Cusdin (REFINE) was warned for using his whip when out of contention.

Race 1   NEVELE R FILLIES SERIES No.43 CONSOLATION (MOBILE PACE)
ENDLESS DREAMS - paced roughly racing into the first bend and had to be steadied. Weakened from the 700 metres. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange reported the filly had raced lethargically and he had been disappointed with her effort. Trainer G Court was unable to provide any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the filly.
HEY TONIGHT - weakened final bend.
DONT LIE TO ME - held up by a weakening runner passing the 700 metres.
ARIELLA - held up by a weakening runner near the 700 metres. Weakened leaving the final bend.
TIGER TAYLOR - weakened final bend.
BETTASTAR - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver N Williamson. Stood down pending one satisfactory trial. Raced wide early stages. Trainer N Williamson advised the filly will be sent for a spell. Mr Williamson was also spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the early stages of the run home.
TIMES ARE A CHANGIN - weakened from the 700 metres.
WITH GRACE - the required veterinary clearance was received.
Race 2   MID-WINTER AT ADDINGTON TROT
SALLY LINDENNY - broke near the 1500 metres losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
TAKE AFTER ME - lay outwards in the run home when under pressure.
THIS TIME GAMBLE - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Weakened final bend.
MUSCLE BANK - broke after 150 metres. Trotted roughly in the middle stages losing considerable ground. Broke again near the 700 metres.
LOVE N THE PORT - trotted roughly in the middle stages when improving to the lead. Trotted roughly throughout the run home and was unable to be fully driven out. Broke late in the run home. Driver M Williamson reported he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
ROSIE'S SON - broke at the start losing all chance.
CLASSIC CALL - trotted roughly in the early stages and had to be steadied losing ground. Hung inwards and broke near the 1100 metres losing all chance.
ONE TWO MENNY - over-raced middle stages.
MONRIKA - trainer M Howard was warned for failing to have the correct colours available.
MISS CRAZED - raced wide early stages. When spoken to regarding the performance driver B Williamson advised that he had difficulty improving his position after settling at the rear of the field in the early stages due to the strong tempo of the race throughout. Mr Williamson added that despite this he had still been slightly disappointed with the mare's effort.
Race 3   WALKER DAVEY SEARELLS FREE-FOR-ALL (MOBILE PACE)
JACK RYAN - over-raced middle stages. Paced roughly final bend and had to be steadied losing ground.
PLUTONIUM LADY - raced wide early stages. Weakened from the 600 metres. When questioned regarding the performance driver S Ottley reported the mare had raced lethargically throughout and had been disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Race 4   MICO PLUMBING PACE
TEDS LEGACY - driver M Edmonds was warned for the manner he drove near the 800 metres when shifting ground placing an outside runner in restricted room.
ADMIRABLE - broke at the start and shifted up the track hampering an outside runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
MEGAROCK - hampered by a breaking runner at the start losing ground. Over-raced near the 1400 metres and became awkwardly placed to the inside of PAY ME VISA despite the efforts of driver G O'Reilly. Lost contact with the body of the field for a distance in the middle stages.
THE MORNING STAR - hampered by a breaking runner at the start.
HARRISON - held up leaving the final bend.
LE POLE DANCER - briefly locked wheels with an outside runner at the start before breaking. Raced wide early stages.
ARTATAC - briefly locked wheels with an inside runner at the start.
HE'S TOUGH - paced roughly in the early stages. Placed in restricted room near the 800 metres and had to be steadied after an inside runner shifted outwards. Held up final bend and again paced roughly.
TARTAN ROXY - broke at the start. Paced roughly final bend.
KOWHAI MAGIC - paced roughly near the 800 metres after being shifted wider on the track by an inside runner.
PAY ME VISA - hampered by a breaking runner at the start.
MARK O'RONGA - fractious prior to the start and reared on several occasions. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Raced wide without cover from the 1300 metres. Weakened final bend.
Race 5   FAHEY FENCE HIRE MOBILE PACE
I'MALLABOUTTHEBASE - broke in the score up checking a trailing runner with a false start being declared. Driver C Ferguson elected to remain in his allocated position for the re-start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
BACK IN BLACK - weakened final bend.
LAST OF THE MOHICANS - raced wide early stages. When questioned regarding the performance driver R May reported the gelding had become worked up due to the false start and had worked hard in the early stages when improving wide to obtain the lead. Mr May added that despite this he had still been slightly disappointed with the effort. Trainer L Hanrahan advised the horse will be sent for a spell.
SHE'S TOUGH - raced wide early stages. Weakened from the 900 metres. When questioned regarding the performance driver M Williamson advised the mare had become worked up after the false start and had failed to settle. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the mare.
SHAN NOBLE - raced wide early stages.
PACE N PRIDE - raced wide early stages.
ITALIAN LAD - over-raced middle stages.
CARDINAL SIN - held up final bend and paced roughly after the gelding's hind leg made contact with the sulky wheel of BELMONT MAJOR when hanging outwards.
MIKEY MAGUIRE - over-raced middle stages.
Stewards spoke with Starter R Donnelly regarding the false start where the mobile accelerated away from the field and the green light was momentarily activated. Mr Donnelly advised that he had called to the drivers in the middle stages of the score up and signaled his intention to abandon the start however the mobile driver was not aware of this and so took control as if the start was to be normally effected. Stewards will be speaking to Harness Racing NZ in the coming days about improving the ability for Mr Donnelly to communicate with the mobile driver.
Race 6   NZB STANDARDBRED HARNESS MILLION 2 - 2YO MOBILE TROT
TORO STRIDE - broke in the score up losing considerable ground. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts. Trotted roughly passing the 1500 metres. Over-raced middle stages.
ONE TREE HILL - weakened final bend.
HIGHGROVE - broke briefly in the early stages of the score up however was able to take up its allocated position at the start.
EMMA JOY - weakened final bend. A post-race veterinary and endoscopic examination revealed mucous present in the trachea. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
NORTIE NORTIE - trotted roughly near the 1000 metres and the 900 metres losing ground. Hung inwards final bend and struck several track markers.
Race 7   PENINSULAR BEACHFRONT RESORT MOBILE PACE
DHAULAGIRI - weakened leaving the final bend. When spoken to regarding the gelding's performance driver J Cox reported he was very disappointed with the effort of the gelding. Trainer J Howe advised that the gelding had been unsuited to having to work hard in the early stages to maintain its position from an inside draw.
GOT YOU COVERED - raced wide without cover from the 800 metres.
MISS MUCHO - over-raced passing the 1400 metres when being restrained to obtain cover. Broke near the 700 metres after making contact with the sulky wheel of TAUMATA VC and lost ground. Stewards questioned driver J Morrison regarding this incident who explained that the mare had been racing keenly and had become awkwardly placed to the inside of TAUMATA VC after that runner had hung outwards near the 700 metres and briefly shifted up the track. After considering the matter, Stewards took the matter no further other than to advise Mr Morrison that it was expected he makes a greater effort to ensure he does not allow his runner to trail too closely in similar circumstances.
TAUMATA VC - raced wide early stages. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room through the final straight. Driver J Herbert reported she had not released the mare's deafeners.
SAMHARA - raced wide early and middle stages.
KISS THE GIRLS - raced wide early stages.
JAZELLE - hung inwards and weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance both driver D Butcher and trainer M Pash advised they were very disappointed with the effort and could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days
BETTOR GRUNTER - raced wide early and middle stages.
CHASE THE HAT TRICK - back slightly at the start.
Trainer M Pash advised Stewards on 20 May that JAZELLE has recovered well following its performance at Addington last week and will continue with its current preparation.
Race 8   LONE STAR SIRES' STAKES AGED TROTTERS CLASSIC (HCP TROT)
MAJESTIC LAVROS - when spoken to regarding the performance driver S Ottley advised the gelding had been unsuited to the sit and sprint tempo of the race however was not disappointed with the effort.
MIDNIGHT DASH - driver B Hope (assisted by N Williamson) admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) and the Whip & Rein Regulation in that he used his whip in a continuous manner in the home straight. After viewing the films and hearing penalty submissions the JCA suspended his licence from the conclusion of racing on 21 May 2021 up to and including 30 May 2021 (4 days).
ONE MAJIC KENNY - began awkwardly and trotted roughly.
OSCAR BONAVENA - slow in the early stages. Over-raced from the 800 metres. Shifted outwards in the home straight when being driven out. Driver N Rasmussen was warned to make a greater effort to maintain a straight course in the run home.
CHINESE WHISPER - forced wider on the track by OSCAR BONAVENA in the home straight.
Race 9   NEVELE R FILLIES SERIES No 43 FINAL (MOBILE PACE)
RUBY MACH - held up by a weakening runner final bend.
SONGBIRD - broke in the score up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
LIFES A BEACH - paced roughly racing into the first bend. Over-raced passing the 1400 metres when being restrained to obtain cover. Again paced roughly for a distance passing the 900 metres.
DARLING ME - badly held up by a weakening runner rounding the final bend. Driver B Butcher reported a sulky tyre deflated during the running.
LA ROSA - paced roughly racing into the first bend after being shifted inwards by an outside runner. Briefly hampered leaving the final bend.
BIZZIE LOU - broke near the 800 metres losing all chance. Stood down to trial satisfactorily on one occasion prior to resuming. Trainer S Baucke advised the filly will be sent for a spell.
ALLAMERICANLOVER - raced wide without cover from the 700 metres. Had to be steadied when being shifted wider at the 700 metres. Blundered and paced roughly leaving the final bend after the filly's hind leg made contact with the sulky wheel of BETTOR TALK ART when being shifted wider on the track by that runner. When questioned regarding this driver D Butcher explained that he had been taken wider on the track by BETTOR TALK ART when wheel to wheel however his runner had not responded as well as he had anticipated creating some pressure between the two sulkies. When BETTOR TALK ART improved clear its sulky had shifted outwards abruptly and contacted his horse. No further action was necessary.
TOWN ECHO - briefly hampered leaving the final bend.
THE HONEY QUEEN - hung inwards from the 500 metres when weakening and struck several track markers with a trailing runner being hampered. A post-race veterinary examination including an endoscopic examination revealed mucous present in the trachea and a slow recovery. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance. Co-trainer G Hughes advised he would have blood tests taken in the coming days and would notify Stewards of the results.
R Close (BETTOR TALK ART) was spoken to regarding the abrupt manner he shifted ground outwards near the 700 metres which took ALLAMERICANLOVER wider on the track.
THE HONEY QUEEN - Co Trainer B Hughes advised Stewards on 21 May that the blood tests taken from the filly showed a high white cell count which has been treated. Mr Hughes further advised that THE HONEY QUEEN would trial prior to returning to the races.
Race 10   SPECTATORS NOW OPEN SUNDAYS! HANDICAP TROT
WILLANGUS LAD - trotted roughly in the early stages and broke passing the 100 metres.
SUNDONS FLYER - broke at the start when having to avoid the barrier strand which did not clear the front row losing its chance.
SHOW ME THE GRAY - struck by the barrier strand on release and galloped in the early stages losing its chance.
OVERZEALOUS - broke at the start and continued on in a gallop for a considerable distance.
TIME IN A BOTTLE - after beginning well and establishing a clear lead the mare was eased by driver J Morrison for some distance in anticipation of a false start with this having no bearing on the mare's chances.
SIOUX PRINCESS - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
MILLIONDOLLARMONKEY - broke passing the 100 metres.
VALLEY STAR - had to shift ground inwards in the early stages to avoid a galloping runner. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the early stages of the run home. Shifted inwards and made contact with several track markers near the 150 metres. Driver R May was spoken to advisedly.
OUTAMYWAY - hampered in the early stages. Broke passing the 400 metres.
MIDNIGHT ASSASSIN - hampered after 100 metres by a breaking runner.
REBEL KIBBYBONES - driver J Hay will be spoken to in the coming days regarding the manner he used his whip in the home straight.
ULTIMATE STRIDE - broke at the start losing ground. Again broke at the 2200 metres losing its chance.
THE DOMINATOR - began awkwardly.
The all clear was delayed in order to allow Stewards to review the start of the race after several horses were either hampered by the barrier strand or not driven competitively due to believing a false start had been declared. After questioning all drivers involved in the race it was established that drivers, J Young-Grant (SUNDONS FLYER), J Dunn (CHIEF OF STAFF), R Close (SHOW ME THE GRAY) and B Orange (OUTAMYWAY) had all observed the false start light flashing and restrained their runners in consequence. Accordingly these four runners were declared non-runners by the JCA. Starter R Donnelly when questioned advised that he had briefly activated the false start alert but then believing the incident to only be minor switched it off. Mr Donnelly was spoken to advisedly regarding his actions and indecisiveness in this incident.
Driver J Hay (REBEL KIBBYBONES) was spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the home straight.
Race 11   NZB STANDARDBRED HARNESS MILLION 2 - 2YO C & G MOBILE PACE
The start was delayed due to the enquiry in the previous race.
FRANCO MAC - weakened final bend. When spoken to regarding the performance driver N Rasmussen advised the gelding had worked hard in the early stages to obtain the lead with the effort taking its toll on the horse. Ms Rasmussen added that the gelding may be better suited when driven with cover.
REPUBLICAN PARTY - over-raced middle stages. Paced roughly near the 900 metres and had to be steadied.
MONTANA D J - pre-race warmed. When spoken to regarding the performance driver Z Butcher reported he had not been disappointed with the effort considering the strong tempo of the race while racing parked for the majority of the event.
AJIRA - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver S O'Reilly. Weakened final bend.
AKUTA - over-raced for a short distance passing the 1300 metres.
WILLOW BAY - paced roughly rounding the first bend. Hung inwards and paced roughly leaving the final bend.
BOLLINGER - weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver J Cox advised he was disappointed with the performance and could offer no explanation. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the colt in the coming days with trainer H Cullen.
MAJOR PERRY - pre-race warmed.
CHIMICHURRI - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver D Butcher. Paced roughly in the early stages before breaking after 100 metres. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the colt.
ALWAYS HAVE FAITH - paced roughly passing the 1000 metres and had to be steadied.
Trainer H Cullen advised Stewards on 22 May that BOLLINGER has been sent for a spell.
Race 12   FIRST DIRECT TAXIS MOBILE PACE
The start was delayed at the request of the TAB.
HANDS ON - held up final bend by a weakening runner.
CHAL PATCH - held up final bend by a weakening runner.
ROCKET BOY(AUS) - raced wide without cover from the 700 metres.
SOUNDSOFCASH - held up final bend by a weakening runner.
STAG PARTY - raced wide early stages.
STORM - raced wide early stages. Driver G Smith was spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion passing the 1000 metres.
YOROKOBI - weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver R Close advised the gelding had raced lethargically in the middle stages when leading. Trainer R Todd advised the horse had worked hard in the early stages to obtain the lead and considering this he had not been disappointed with the gelding's effort. Mr Close will be spoken to regarding the manner he used his whip near the 1200 metres.
SPORTSCAM - out of position at the candy pole despite the efforts of driver J Cox. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight. Mr Cox reported he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
LUELLA - out of position at the candy pole despite the efforts of driver B Hope. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Over-raced middle stages.
CLASSY DANCER - held up final bend by a weakening runner. Held up for clear racing room late in the run home.
MAJORCA - over-raced in the early stages when being restrained to the rear of the field. Continued to over-race through the middle stages.
R Close (YOROKOBI) was issued with a warning for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion near the 1200 metres.
