RED HARBOUR - hung inwards when weakening near the 300 metres and as a result locked sulky stays with ROGIE FALLS which was shifting ground outwards before breaking near the 200 metres. After hearing from drivers C Thornley (RED HARBOUR) and S McNally (ROGIE FALLS) in relation to this incident when assessing the culpability of either driver, Stewards took into account that RED HARBOUR had hung inwards simultaneously as ROGIE FALLS shifted ground and no further action was deemed necessary. | |
LISTEN EASY - broke shortly after the start. Driver J Morrison reported the mare had become unbalanced in the deeper going on the outside of the track prior to breaking. |

ALENE - hung inwards in the early stages of the run home. When questioned regarding the performance driver L O'Reilly advised the mare had locked on one rein. Stewards will follow up with the connections in the coming days. | |
STELLA'S DELIGHT - hung outwards when attempting to shift down the track near the 600 metres and struck the sulky wheel of LIKE A DREAM. After hearing from driver L McCormick no further action was deemed necessary. | |
ART CRACKER - raced wide middle stages. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Orange advised he was disappointed with the effort and could offer no explanation. | |
Following this race the track was upgraded to Good. | |
Trainer D Reardon advised Stewards on 6 May that ALENE has recovered well following its performance at Ashburton last week. Mr Reardon added that the mare resented the grit on her face in that event and she will return to the trials prior to resuming with a nose flap being added to her gear. |

After hearing submissions on penalty, the JCA suspended Mr McCormick's licence from the conclusion of racing on 27 June up to and including 4 July 2021 (2 days). |
