Race 1   FAMOUS GROUSE - DRIVER OF THE YEAR TROT
ANDOVERFIST - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
MONARO MAKO - trainer M Bryers was warned for presenting the gelding to race with blinds instead of the notified pacifier. Broke passing the 200 metres. Stood down pending one satisfactory trial.
TAHIR TROUBLE - broke briefly approaching the 800 metres before breaking again passing the 700 metres losing all chance.
CLASSIC CALL - broke at the start. Over-raced for a distance through the early stages. Driver M Edmonds was warned to make a greater effort to ensure he leaves full access to the passing lane for trailing runners after shifting inwards over the concluding stages.
INQUIZITIVE MAN - hampered by a breaking runner near the 150 metres and had to shift ground wider.
JESPER FAST - fractious prior to the start and was out of position. Broke at the start losing ground.
RANDOM SPUR - raced wide early stages. When questioned regarding the mare's performance driver J Morrison explained that the mare had been unsuited to racing parked for the majority of the event.
SAMANTHA BEE - lay inwards in the run home when having difficulty obtaining clear racing room.
BRANDY AND DRY - trotted roughly through the early stages.
ELLA OF MOT - broke at the start losing all chance.
ROSIE'S SON - trotted roughly through the early stages and again in the run home.
Race 2   CRATE & BARREL LEESTON MOBILE PACE
EL TERROR - hampered by a breaking runner over the crossing near the 1700 metres.
ASHES OF DESIRE - driver M Smolenski was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion and free of the rein on one occasion in the home straight.
SHADOW AVEROSS - broke racing over the crossing hampering trailing runners. Weakened leaving the final bend.
LECONTE - lay inwards near the 800 metres striking several track markers.
DALNESS FIRST - shifted outwards near the 500 metres after being forced wider on the track by EVIDENTLY and locked wheels with KING ARTHUR which was improving quickly losing all chance. Stewards questioned drivers J Curtin (EVIDENTLY) and B Hope (DALNESS FIRST) regarding this incident. After viewing the replays and hearing from both drivers, Stewards were unable to apportion blame to any one horse or driver and took the matter no further. Mr Hope was shown the replay and spoken to advisedly regarding his obligations after locking wheels.
BEEPS - driver B Borcoskie was warned for using his whip free of the rein on one occasion in the early stages of the run home.
DAGGY LAMB - late scratching at 8:55am on veterinary advice. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
MALDITO - over-raced in the early stages before breaking after becoming awkwardly placed close to the sulky of ASHES OF DESIRE near the 1700 metres.
KING ARTHUR - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1700 metres. Locked wheels with DALNESS FIRST on the final bend losing all chance.
ADHARA - briefly hampered near the 1600 metres. Lay inwards in the home straight.
CRISTIANO BUCCINI - co-trainer G Hope reported that the gelding has had a wind operation since last racing.
Race 3   HARNESS RACING UNHINGED PACE
MAXIMILIAN - broke at the start. Placed on the Unruly for future Standing Starts.
CHARLIE'S ACE - broke at the start. Placed on the Unruly for future Standing Starts.
KENNEDY - broke at the start. Paced roughly in the home straight.
IRON WOMAN - broke near the 650 metres after a side carrier came adrift. Trainer W Stapleton will be spoken to in the coming days regarding this.
BROMAC HYPE - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier record.
NADIRA FRANCO - hampered near the 600 metres by a breaking runner.
FRANCO HATTON - hampered at the start by a breaking runner. Again hampered near the 600 metres by a breaking runner.
UNCHANGED MEMORY - hampered at the start by a breaking runner.
FULL OF DESIRE - hampered near the 600 metres by a breaking runner.
DANCEMYSTER - hung inwards throughout the run home when under pressure.
Race 4   JIMMY CURTIN & RICKY MAY FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
GET BACK - held up early stages of the run home.
FASCINATE - paced roughly in the early stages and had to be steadied. Broke for several strides racing over the crossing near the 1700 metres. Lay inwards in the final straight.
ROSE MARSH - raced wide throughout. Stewards questioned driver J Patterson regarding the tactics he adopted throughout. Mr Patterson advised that he had intended shifting inwards in the early stages to obtain cover however had not been able to do so and so considered restraining to last. At this time he became aware of THE MORNING STAR improving three wide and so attempted to follow that runner into a prominent position but his horse had been unable to do so leaving him poorly placed through the middle stages. After considering his explanation Mr Patterson was advised that in future it was expected he be more decisive around his decision making and was issued with a warning for his lack of judgement.
TIGER TAYLOR - raced wide early stages.
ALI X - weakened leaving the final bend. A post race veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery.
THE MORNING STAR - over-raced early stages. Raced wide early and middle stages.
SEARING LIGHT - paced roughly shortly after the start. Hung inwards and broke passing the 300 metres.
Race 5   JULIA & STEVIE GOLDING AT HARCOURTS PACE
SWEET HEAVEN - driver J Herbert was issued with a warning for arriving late to the start resulting in a delay. Held up in the early and middle stages of the run home.
ANTOINETTE - broke at the start.
TEDS LEGACY - held up for clear racing room for the majority of the home straight. Driver M Edmonds advised he was not afforded the opportunity to activate the removable deafeners
HEAVEN HELPUS - trainer G Smith was warned for arriving late on course. Paced roughly after 150 metres.
ROYAL RUBY - broke at the start.
PURE COURAGE - began awkwardly. Hung outwards final bend and for the majority of the home straight when held up for clear racing room.
SAINT WAITAKI - lay outwards throughout the final straight when racing greenly.
Race 6   JUDITH & LINDSAY BLACKMORE/ FAY & FRED FLETCHER TROT
FRANCO JOSIAH - weakened leaving the final bend after trailing throughout. When questioned regarding the performance trainer B Waldron reported that in his opinion the gelding had failed to back up from its last start.
SUNNIVUE PHILEAH - broke passing the 400 metres.
FULL OF HOPE - raced wide in the early stages.
TEQUILA SUNSET - hampered near the 1200 metres after a slight easing of the pace. Broke passing the 400 metres.
THAT'S THE STORY - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
SILVERLININGS - raced wide in the early stages.
DD'S SUPER STUART - hampered near the 1200 metres after a slight easing of the pace.
MAJESTIC ACTION - broke near the 1200 metres for a short distance due to a slight easing of the pace. Weakened leaving the final bend. When spoken to regarding the performance trainer T Yesberg reported that in his opinion the mare had failed to back up from its last start. Cleared from the Unruly for future Standing Starts.
UNDER AND OVER - hampered near the 1200 metres due to a slight easing of the pace. Raced wide without cover from the 1000 metres.
Race 7   JONTY'S JOURNEY MOBILE PACE
TIMES ARE A CHANGIN - lost ground final bend when under pressure.
PRESIDENT PAT - had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight. Driver N Burton reported that he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
BOULTON HOME - weakened final stages. When questioned regarding the gelding's performance driver S Ottley could offer no explanation and had been slightly disappointed with the effort. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
FROSTY RECEPTION - raced wide early stages. Driver L O'Reilly will be spoken to in the coming days regarding using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the home straight. When spoken to regarding the improved performance trainer C McDowell reported that the mare had appreciated a drop back in class from recent racing.
FLAMBOYANT - raced wide early stages.
CHANGEOVER JO - raced roughly in the early stages.
Stewards delayed the all clear after 4th placing was incorrectly awarded to RAFA NOVAK by the Judge with this being rectified soon after.
Race 8   WESTVIEW LOVES JONTY MOBILE PACE
PINK FLAMINGO RUN - weakened final bend.
SCOTLYNN BEACH BOY - when spoken to regarding the gelding's performance trainer D Taylor and driver M Williamson were both disappointed with the effort and could offer no explanation. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
CABALLE BEACH - broke as the start was effected and shifted outwards checking an outside runner and lost all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
CONQUER ME - checked by a breaking runner at the start. Weakened leaving the final bend.
THE OPTIMIST - broke at the start losing its chance. A warning was placed on the mare's barrier record.
PLAY BY EAR - hampered final bend by a weakening runner.
KEY REACTOR - hampered soon after the start by a breaking runner having to be steadied. Driver O Thornley advised she had not been able to release the gelding's deafeners. Trainer J Gray was issued with a warning for failing to have the gear correctly affixed so as not to malfunction.
ROCKNSNAP - hampered soon after the start by a breaking runner having to be steadied.
RUBY'S A DELIGHT - trainer J McDermott was warned for presenting the mare without the notified Blinds which were fitted prior to the mare completing its Preliminary. Hampered soon after the start by a breaking runner having to be steadied. Held up throughout the run home.
Race 9   McMILLAN FEED BARN - TRAINER OF THE YEAR MOBILE PACE
A false start was declared when STAR REACTOR pulled its way on to the front row despite the efforts of driver G Thornley and could not be taken off the gate to allow runners into position. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
MARTIN JOHN - when spoken to regarding the performance trainer A Stuart advised that he was very disappointed and could offer no explanation. Stewards will follow up with the recovery of the gelding in the coming days.
DUFFY HOLLOW - held up for clear racing room for the majority of the home straight.
SENORITA MARGARITA - held up throughout the run home.
MONGOLIAN CONQUEROR - when spoken to regarding the performance driver S Tomlinson could offer no explanation and had been disappointed with the effort. Stewards will follow up with the connections in the coming days.
ARCHMAN - raced wide early stages.
TAUMATA VC - broke briefly racing over the crossing. Raced wide without cover from the 1600 metres.
HIGH FLYING HARRY - raced wide early stages.
ALREADY GONE - weakened leaving the final bend.
Race 10   MORRIE MOLLOY MEMORIAL TROT
There was a slight delay to the start of the race when READY I AM required a sulky change.
DEBORAHS GEM - broke shortly after the start. Broke again near the 1700 metres. Placed on the Unruly for future Standing Starts.
BREAK FREE - fractious prior to the start causing a further delay. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Broke approaching the 1600 metres when attempting to shift inwards despite the efforts of driver K Hadfield and made contact with the sulky wheel of GO MARG after over-racing. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
TAKE AFTER ME - trainer F Scott was issued with a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for failing to secure the gelding's near hind bandage which came adrift and hung loose during the running.
LINE A LOVE - broke after 300 metres losing ground.
TRES MAGNIFIQUE - broke shortly after the start.
ONE OVER DOVER - trainer B Waldron was warned for presenting the gelding to race without the notified Pacifier which was fitted prior to the horse completing its Preliminary. Broke after 200 metres. Broke again near the 150 metres.
BLINK N BONES - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1600 metres.
READY I AM - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground.
Race 11   TROTS AT THE MOT- SEE YOU IN SEPTEMBER MOBILE PACE
WILL HE ROCK - raced wide early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field. Weakened leaving the final bend.
MOTOR MOUTH - raced wide early stages. Over-raced through the middle stages when racing parked before improving to the lead.
HITTHEROADJACK - held up early stages of the home straight. Broke near the 300 metres. Driver B Hope reported that the gelding had struck a knee when looking for racing room.
HUEGO BOS - weakened leaving the final bend.
