Race 1   CHARLES WIFFEN & MT BEAUTIFUL WINES TROT
TRIXTON TIME - trainers C & C Dalgety were warned for being late to notify the gelding would be racing with blinds. The start was delayed due to TRIXTON TIME backing away with the sulky becoming positioned over the gelding's back. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
LOVE ROSE - trotted roughly and lost ground on the final bend before breaking near the 250 metres.
CHEEKY MONKEY - broke racing into the first bend losing all chance.
GALWAY GIRL - trotted roughly when attempting to improve three wide in the middle stages. Trotted roughly and broke passing the 200 metres and continued on in a break to the finish. Driver C Thornley reported the filly had cast both front bell boots.
PREACHER'S DAUGHTER - broke racing into the first bend and again near the 1300 metres. Broke again near the 150 metres.
GIFT CARD - trotted roughly rounding the first bend. Again trotted roughly approaching the 1000 metres.
KD HAWK - broke near the 2100 metres when improving to the lead losing ground. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed the horse had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation.
BOURBON ON THE ROCKS - trotted roughly middle stages. Hung outwards and trotted roughly in the home straight before breaking for a short distance passing the 150 metres and again near the 50 metres.
MAJESTIC WHISPER - raced wide early stages.
Race 2   RURAL LIVESTOCK MOBILE PACE
HAITI FRANCO - weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver C Thornley reported he felt the mare had not been suited by the longer distance of today's race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery. Trainer S McRae advised he will have the horse examined by his Veterinarian in the coming days and will notify Stewards of the results.
THE ARTFUL DODGER - paced roughly throughout the run home. Driver M Williamson was spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the home straight. When spoken to regarding the improved performance trainer J Kennett advised the horse had been having tough runs recently and had benefited from an economical run today.
CALI FRANCO - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver R May. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
DONE DEAL - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts. Continued to pace roughly through the early stages having to be steadied. Weakened near the 600 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery. Trainer M Purvis advised he was very disappointed with the performance and he will have the horse examined by his Veterinarian in the coming days and will notify Stewards of the results.
RUBY'S A DELIGHT - held up by a weakening runner final bend. A side hopple carrier broke during the running, the gear was inspected and found to have been in previously good condition. Driver J Cox was spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the home straight.
IT'S A SHAWTHING - broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts. Weakened near the 700 metres. Trainer J Gary advised the horse will be sent for a spell.
TYKE - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver L O'Reilly. Lay inwards in the home straight.
MAXIMILIAN - hampered by a weakening runner final bend.
Trainer S McRae advised Stewards on 10 March that HAITI FRANCO was found to be suffering from muscle tie-up following its performance at Addington on Sunday with Mr McRae adding that the mare will be trained on the beach in the immediate future.
Trainer M Purvis advised Stewards on 12 March that DONE DEAL was found to be suffering from a lung infection following its run at Addington last Sunday and is being treated accordingly.
Race 3   GH BUILDERS LTD (FILLIES & MARES) MOBILE PACE
WITH GRACE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 900 metres.
TAUMATA VC - hampered by a breaking runner near the 900 metres.
FASCINATE - hampered by a breaking runner near the 900 metres.
DE LA RENTA - paced roughly and broke near the 900 metres when leading hampering trailing runners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the filly.
HATTIE - paced roughly in the early stages. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 900 metres.
SEE ME NOW - hung inwards rounding the final bend when under pressure.
BELMONT DIVA - trainer S McRae was warned for being late to notify the filly would be racing with removable deafeners. Hampered by a breaking runner near the 900 metres. Hung inwards and paced roughly leaving the final bend. Driver C Thornley reported the removable deafeners were not activated due to having the field covered.
Race 4   JACKIE ORR MEMORIAL HANDICAP TROT
BOYZ INVASION - broke at the start losing ground.
GIRLS LET LOOSE - trotted roughly rounding the first bend. Broke near the 2100 metres checking a trailing runner. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
PRINCE TEKA - hung inwards final bend and struck several track markers.
CHLOE ROSE - checked and broke near the 2100 metres losing ground. Forced wider on the track near the 1050 metres when OVERZEALOUS shifted outwards.
OVERZEALOUS - hampered by a breaking runner near the 2100 metres. Driver P Davis admitted a breach of the Push Out Rule after he shifted outwards near the 1050 metres forcing CHLOE ROSE to race wider on the track. After hearing penalty submissions the JCA suspended Mr Davis licence from the conclusion of racing on 14 March up to and including 19 March 2021 (2 days). Mr Davis was also spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the home straight.
MIDNIGHT DASH - driver B Hope reported he did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
Race 5   GLEN MCNABB EARTHMOVING & ENGINEERING (JUNIOR DRIVERS) PACE
There was a delay to the start while MISS IMPRESSION was attended to by the Veterinarian and loaded into the horse ambulance after sustaining a fractured shoulder in the preliminary with the mare being euthanised.
There was a further delay when JEREMY WELLS returned to the stables after sustaining a flat tyre in the preliminary.
JEREMY WELLS - slow to begin and got back as a result.
CAESAR'S QUEST - a side hopple carrier broke during the running. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously satisfactory condition.
NOT REALLY BLONDE - stood on the mark losing ground hampering trailing runners. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
MONGOLIAN CONQUEROR - driver S Tomlinson was spoken to advisedly for using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the home straight.
THE CONQUEROR - weakened final bend.
BETTOR BELIEVE IT - broke rounding the final bend when being shifted wider on the track by an inside runner. While in a break the off side hopple connecting strap broke.
TAS GIRL BROMAC - hampered shortly after the start. Weakened final bend. Shifted inwards into the passing lane when under pressure in the home straight. Driver E Barron was warned for failing to leave the passing lane clear for trailing runners.
TERRIER - hampered shortly after the start. Paced roughly from the 800 metres.
Race 6   DOWNBYTHESEASIDE LEONARD MEMORIAL STAKES (MOBILE PACE)
The start was delayed 11 minutes due to the delay in the previous race.
WOODLEA BEAVER - weakened final bend.
BULL SPEED AHEAD - weakened final bend.
MARY AUSTIN - weakened final bend.
SUNTAN - lay inwards throughout the run home.
Race 7   CHEVIOT BUSINESSES CHEVIOT CUP (HANDICAP PACE)
The start was delayed approximately 8 minutes due to the delay in the previous race.
BUCKSKIN - broke at the start. Driver G O'Reilly reported the gelding had been making abnormal breathing noises during the running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. The connections explained they had tried a different bit today which they felt may have contributed.
LAST OF THE MOHICANS - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
KISS THE GIRLS - broke at the start. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts. Driver D White was spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the home straight.
INVALUABLE - over-raced middle stages. Broke near the 300 metres and briefly locked sulky stays with ZAMBIA.
SPOT ON - weakened from the 700 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A warning was placed on the racing performance of the gelding.
ZAMBIA - over-raced passing the 1000 metres. Hampered by the breaking INVALUABLE leaving the final bend and briefly locked sulky stays.
Race 8   CHEVIOT CONCRETE & AMURI READY MIX TROT
The start was delayed five minutes due to the delay in the previous race.
The start was further delayed due to the tyre on ALDEBARAN FLOSS requiring attention.
SALVO - over-raced middle stages. Held up final bend and early stages of the run home and trotted roughly late in the run home.
ARRAN CHIEF - held up final bend and in the early and middle stages of the run home.
FULL OF HOPE - weakened leaving the final bend. When spoken to regarding the performance driver R Close advised he was very disappointed. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
SMUDGEE - held up final bend.
TEHORO DAZZLE - raced wide early stages.
ILLEGAL ALIEN - raced wide early stages. Lost contact with the body of the field from the 800 metres.
ROYAL PRIDE - held up early stages of the run home. Trotted roughly near the 150 metres after making contact with the sulky wheel of UNIQUE ROSE. Driver S Thornley (assisted by C DeFilippi) was shown the films and warned to take greater care when shifting ground.
MIKEMARO - when spoken to regarding the improved performance driver J Curtin advised he had received a favourable run with cover into the race and had benefited from the addition of sliding blinds.
TAKE AFTER ME - raced wide early stages.
MICHELLE - broke after a slight easing of the pace near the 900 metres.
Race 9   CHEVIOT LICENCING TRUST (FILLIES & MARES) MOBILE PACE
HONOUR SCROLL - weakened final bend.
FANCY - held up for clear racing room throughout the run home.
ROCKNROLL MAMA - raced wide early stages. Paced roughly from the 600 metres.
SKY VALE - hung inwards in the score up and was slightly out of position as a result.
ANNIE RICHTER - raced keenly middle stages.
STORM - out of position at the start. Driver R Close was issued with a warning.
SWEET BELLE - hampered on the final bend by a weakening runner. Unable to secure clear running over the final stages.
PASSION AND POWER - lay inwards in the run home. When spoken to regarding the performance driver J Dunn advised that his filly had again disappointed him on this track and felt she may not be suited to the surface.
Race 10   MORGAN SHEARING MOBILE PACE
ROCKNSNAP - lay inwards and paced roughly near the 1000 metres.
IDEALINDREAMS - weakened leaving the final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery. Trainer S Dolan advised it was his intention to consider spelling the mare.
LINCOLN SKIPPER - held up early stages of the run home.
BETTER FLY - out of position at the start. Driver J Dunn was issued a warning. Raced wide early stages.
ARCHMAN - out of position at the start. Driver K Newman was issued a warning. Over-raced middle stages when racing parked.
SMOOTH DEBATE - lay inwards near the 1500 metres and struck several track markers. Held up leaving the final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
DIDJASEEMYSHADOW - broke shortly after the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Trainer T Chmiel advised the horse will be sent for a spell.
