MUZZ - shifted outwards at the start. Paced racing into the first bend having to be restrained into its correct gait.
DREAMSINTHE MIST - paced away before breaking losing ground. Held up early stages of the run home.
MAJESTIC JAG - held up early and middle stages of the run home. Driver M Williamson reported the gelding had hung outwards throughout and he did not activate the removable deafeners in consequence.
ILSAS SON - trotted roughly around the bends. Driver R Anderson was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the home straight and to break up his use of the whip with alternative actions.
GALWAY GIRL - broke shortly after the start. Trotted roughly in the home straight.
LOVE ROSE - raced wide early stages.
EILISH HALL - trotted roughly in the home straight.
GLIDE ALONG - broke rounding the first bend. Stood down to complete one satisfactory trial. Driver T Chmiel reported the gelding had been striking his sulky wheels.
KD HAWK - broke rounding the first bend losing ground. Authorisation of 4th placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards questioned driver G Smith regarding his apparent lack of vigour in the home straight. After considering his explanation Stewards adjourned the matter for further consideration.
Race 2   NEWLANDS AUTO ELECTRICAL MOBILE PACE
ADDO CARR - held up by a weakening runner final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
FINE BY ME - held up by a weakening runner final bend and in the early stages of the run home.
THE ARTFUL DODGER - paced roughly rounding the first bend when becoming awkwardly placed close to the sulky of HEY TONIGHT. Raced wide without cover from near the 1200 metres.
TIMES ARE A CHANGIN - when questioned regarding the improved performance the connections advised the filly had appreciated the drop back in calibre of the field and the slower tempo of today's race.
HEY TONIGHT - hung inwards leaving the final bend and struck a track marker. When questioned regarding the improved performance the connections advised the filly was better suited to racing over a longer distance than it had been in recent starts and had appreciated a drop back in calibre of the field.
BEST TRIO - raced wide early stages. Weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver M Jones advised the gelding had performed to his expectations. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a slow recovery. Stewards will follow up the recovery of the gelding in the coming days with trainer D Taylor.
DON'T QUOTE ME - paced roughly on various occasions throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the right hind leg. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
Race 3   NEVELE R FILLIES SERIES (HEAT 3) MOBILE PACE
PASSION AND POWER - the boring pole was removed and a rein pricker added prior to the start after warming up unfavourably.
SONGBIRD - hung outwards racing into the first bend when being restrained briefly crowding an outside runner.
WITH GRACE - crowded by an inside runner racing into the first bend and had to be steadied. When spoken to regarding the performance driver K Newman reported that in his opinion the filly had been unsuited to the distance of the race and the fast closing sectionals.
BETTOR TALK ART - raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 1000 metres.
Race 4   FULTON HOGAN LTD MOBILE TROT
STEEL DUST - when questioned regarding the improved performance driver T McMillan reported the gelding had appreciated a return to mobile racing from a favourable draw.
PRINCE RANIER - broke in the score up and was out of position at the candy pole. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
SHOW ME THE GRAY - held up early stages of the run home.
SODS LAW - driver J Geddes was spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the home straight.
ROGIE FALLS - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Raced wide early stages.
RUSTY I AM - weakened final bend.
TYENE - when spoken to regarding the performance driver K Barron advised the mare had worked hard in the middle stages to improve to the parked position however despite this he had still been disappointed with the overall effort of the mare.
FAITH NO MORE - raced wide early stages. Over-raced middle stages. Weakened leaving the final bend. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts at the request of trainer L McKay.
Race 5   SHEEP MILK NEW ZEALAND SAPLING STAKES (MOBILE PACE)
GET KRAKEN - driver K Barron was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the home straight.
EXECUTIVE BANNER - Stewards questioned driver J Dunn regarding the tactics he adopted near the 500 metres when electing to shift from a trailing position behind the leader TIDE AND TIME to race parked. Mr Dunn advised that due to the slow tempo of the race he felt his best option was to shift outwards and increase the speed to minimise the chance of his runner being left flat footed in a sprint home however he had been disappointed with the manner the colt had finished the race off. Mr Dunn was spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the run home.
STAR CASINO - forced wider on the final bend by an inside runner before racing greenly and weakening.
CUT GLASS - broke briefly in the score up and recovered to be in position at the start.
TIDE AND TIME - driver K Cox was warned for using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the home straight.
MOSSDALE BEN - paced roughly in the run home. Driver R May was warned for using his whip free of the rein on one occasion in the home straight.
MY ULTIMATE CHEVRON - held up early and middle stages of the run home.

LEAF STRIDE - trotted roughly in the early stages of the score up. Hung inwards racing into the first bend and struck track markers.
LOVE N THE PORT - when spoken to regarding the performance driver M Williamson reported the gelding had trotted roughly throughout the run home and he had been unable to fully drive the horse out.
ALLURING TYRON - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
WANNA PLAY WITH ME - the rein pricker was removed prior to the start. Broke after being steadied when racing keenly near the 400 metres.
DESBOIS - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
MAUI - driver D McCormick admitted a charge in that he used his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the home straight and after viewing the films and hearing penalty submissions the JCA suspended his licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 27 May 2021 (3 months).
ROYAL DEL - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.

Race 8   MORGAN FENCING LTD MOBILE TROT
MAJESTIC CHICK - driver R Holmes was reminded of his obligations to keep both hands on the reins when urging his runner with the whip.
SPY DA MOMENT - broke shortly after the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
MONRIKA - when questioned regarding the improved performance driver S McNally advised the mare races well over a sprint distance and had appreciated the return to mobile racing with a favourable run throughout. Mr McNally was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion and loose reining in the home straight.
EASY PICKINGS - held up early and middle stages of the run home. Trotted roughly and broke late in the run home and was lapped on at the finish by several runners. The connections did not contest the protest and EASY PICKINGS was relegated from 3rd placing to 6th placing by the JCA.
ZSA ZOE - broke briefly near the 400 metres losing ground. Trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
