Race 5 - GARRY THOMPSON - FERNLAW MOBILE PACE
Trainer J Howe advised Stewards on 27 January that FRANCO CORNEL has recovered well following its first raceday performance at Addington last week with Mr Howe being of the opinion that the gelding would derive considerable improvement from the experience.
Race 9 - HYDROFLOW HANDICAP TROT
Trainer T Bagrie advised Stewards on 26 January that EXCUSE MY FRENCH has been treated for a high white blood cell count since racing at Addington last week.
Banks Peninsula TC - Sunday, 24th January 2021
Driver B Butt admitted a breach of Rule 513(3)(a)(c) & (4)(c) in that he provided a breath alcohol sample in excess of 100 micrograms of alcohol per litre of breath. After hearing submissions on penalty, the JCA suspended Mr Butt's licence from the conclusion of racing on 31 January 2021 up to and including 28 March 2021 (8 weeks).

Trainer K Barron advised Stewards on 29 January that CARIBBEAN LILY has been treated for back soreness subsequent to its performance at Motukarara last week and will continue with its current preparation.

MOSSDALE TERRY - hampered by a breaking runner in the home straight.
SMOKIN GUN - lay inwards final bend and struck track markers. Hampered by a breaking runner in the home straight. Driver G O'Reilly was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion.
CANTFINDABETTORMAN - lay inwards in the early stages of the run home. Broke approaching the 150 metres when leading hampering trailing runners before breaking again over the concluding stages. Disqualified from 5th placing by the JCA after breaking in excess of 50 metres inside the final 200 metres of the race.
MOSSDALE BEN - paced roughly for a distance passing the 200 metres and hung inwards.
EXECUTIVE BANNER - lay inwards in the run home. Driver R Houghton admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) and the Whip and Rein Regulations in that he used his whip with the handle end pointed forwards in the early stages of the home straight before using his whip free of the rein on one occasion and then with more than a wrist flicking motion. After considering submissions on penalty the JCA imposed a fine of $500.

ARRAN CHIEF - held up by a weakening runner final bend before hanging inwards and striking track markers.
IDLE STUARTIA - weakened final bend. When questioned regarding the performance trainer R Austin advised he was disappointed and could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
GIL FAVOR - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver P Nairn. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room until late in the home straight.
MONRIKA - held up early stages of the run home.
SMOKIN BANDAR - pre-race warmed. Broke in the score up losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Trainer/driver C Ferguson advised the gelding will be sent for a spell.
THE PLAYER - raced wide early stages.
MISSALYSSA - raced wide without cover from the 700 metres.

When spoken to regarding the performance driver J Dunn reported the gelding had been striking a knee. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
PROSPECT PARK - over-raced in the score up. Continued to over-race in the middle stages.

Race 4   SBSR AT NZBS FOR VIDEOS & PEDIGREES HANDICAP TROT
The start was delayed due to OVERZEALOUS being slow to turn into line resulting in DOFF YOUR CAP breasting the barrier strand despite the efforts of driver B Butt.
HARRYSUL - trotted roughly final bend and in the home straight.
MATADEROS - raced wide through the early stages when improving forward. Broke near the 2000 metres. Broke again passing the 400 metres. When spoken to regarding the performance driver J Dunn reported the gelding had objected to the track grit.
ONE APOLLO - broke after 150 metres losing ground.
Race 5   SBSR FOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK & HARNESSLINK MOBILE PACE
SHANIKA - paced roughly passing the 150 metres. Driver J Dunn reported he did not activate the removable gear due to having the field covered.
GET BACK - checked by a breaking runner near the 900 metres.
TAKE A HIKE - paced roughly late in the score up and was out of position at the start. Stood down to trial satisfactorily on one occasion from a mobile. Trainer/driver R Houghton reported the horse would be restricted to standing starts where possible in the immediate future. Hung inwards throughout the run home when under pressure.
KOWHAI SHADOW - checked by a breaking runner near the 900 metres. Raced wide without cover from the 800 metres.
SPORTSCAM - checked by a breaking runner near the 900 metres. Held up final bend and in the early and middle stages of the run home. Driver J Cox reported that the sliding blinds had activated in the middle stages after the cord had become entangled in the gelding's hopple resulting in the horse over-racing.
ROLLYOUROWN - late scratching on veterinary advice at 9.30am. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
ARDEN COUNTRY - hampered by a breaking runner near the 900 metres.
FRANCO CORNEL - held up early stages of the run home and paced roughly.
HIGH FLYING HARRY - paced roughly in the home straight and had to be steadied near the 50 metres.
JOURNO - broke near the 900 metres checking trailing runners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the gelding.
HEY TONIGHT - checked by a breaking runner near the 900 metres. Held up early stages of the run home.

I'M TOUGH - hung inwards in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Paced roughly in the early stages after driver M Williamson had to take evasive action to avoid a breaking runner which had shifted inwards abruptly.
CRANBOURNE - lay inwards in the early stages of the run home when being shifted wider on the track to obtain clear racing room.
MIKEY MAGUIRE - out of position at the start. Broke shortly after the start and shifted inwards abruptly checking an inside runner losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
LAVER - raced wide early stages.

YANKEE PARTY - hung outwards throughout the run home.
WATCH ME NOW - raced wide early stages.

HAVTIME - over-raced through the early and middle stages. Raced wide without cover from the 700 metres.
SWELL TIME - broke when being shifted wider on the track by an inside runner passing the 600 metres.

FULL OF HOPE - when spoken to regarding the performance driver P Nairn reported the mare had failed to handle the bends and had trotted roughly. Mr Nairn will be spoken to regarding using his whip free of the rein in the home straight.
ROGIE FALLS - broke briefly on the final bend.
GREENBANK BETTY - broke after 100 metres losing ground. Held up final bend.
SODS LAW - checked and broke near the 300 metres.
GLOBAL FLIGHT - held up final bend.
UNIQUE ROSE - crowded by an outside runner after 100 metres before breaking shortly after.
ROYAL DEL - raced wide early stages. Driver S Thornley was warned for the manner he drove shortly after the start when crowding an inside runner.
UNIQUE MARSHALL - weakened final bend.
TYENE - raced wide without cover from the 1200 metres. Broke near the 300 metres checking trailing runners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
YURI - checked by a breaking runner near the 300 metres.
LUMINOSITY - raced wide early stages.
CRADDOCK - refused to move away at the start losing all chance. Stood down to complete one satisfactory trial from a stand.

TAS GIRL BROMAC - weakened final bend.
LUELLA - junior driver B Hope (assisted by R Holmes) admitted a breach of Rule 868(3) in that he failed to drive his runner out to the end of the race when having a reasonable chance of finishing 5th and was fined $200 by the JCA.
DHAULAGIRI - had to be steadied approaching the 1600 metres after a slight easing of the pace.
BLAZING IMPACT - raced wide early stages. Weakened from the 500 metres. When spoken to regarding the performance driver T Bamford reported the horse had worked hard in the early stages and had been unsuited to racing parked. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
ARDEN'S REALITY - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver J Campbell. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Had to be steadied approaching the 1600 metres after a slight easing of the pace and sustained a punctured sulky tyre after being contacted by a trailing runner.
TERROR MARIA - out of position at the start. Driver C Jones was issued with a warning. Mr Jones was also spoken to advisedly for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the early stages of the home straight.
TEAGAN BANNER - out of position at the start. Driver S Payne was issued with a warning. Raced wide rounding the first bend when over-racing. Continued to over-race through the middle stages. Made contact with the sulky wheel of ARDEN'S REALITY after a slight easing of the pace approaching the 1600 metres despite the efforts of driver S Payne. Weakened final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery. Stewards will follow up with trainer K Barron in the coming days.
ROCKNROLL MAMA - had to be steadied approaching the 1600 metres after a slight easing of the pace. Held up final bend. Driver A Cameron (assisted by M Purvis) was warned to show better judgement after improving wider on the track on the final bend onto the back of the weakening BLAZING IMPACT resulting in her runner being held up for a short distance. Miss Cameron was also warned for using her whip free of the rein in the early stages of the run home.
Race 10   SBSR SELLING AT NZBS SALE 15, 16, 17 FEBRUARY MOBILE PACE
LE TISSIER - held up leaving the final bend.
FIVE STAR GENERAL - held up early stages of the run home. Driver B Butt was warned for using his whip free of the rein in the home straight.
RAZORS EDGE - hung outwards approaching the 100 metres. Driver J Geddes was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the home straight.
NOT OVER - driver R Close admitted using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion in the home straight and was fined $200 by the JCA.
BETTOR GRUNTER - raced wide early stages. Driver K Barron will be spoken to regarding the manner he used his whip in the home straight.
STAVROS THE TERROR - out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the entire. Hung inwards final bend and throughout the home straight.
CHUBBY CHECKER - held up for clear racing room throughout the run home.
PASSION AND POWER - paced roughly when improving wide on the track on the final bend and in the home straight. When spoken to regarding the performance driver J Dunn reported the filly had not been suited by the sit and sprint tempo of the race.

OH NOVA LOVE - broke near the 800 metres losing all chance.
