Race 3 - THE ANCHORAGE BED AND BREAKFAST WAITARERE BEACH MOBILE PACE
Driver S Doody (SHANROAD) admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) in that he used his whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion in the run home. After hearing submissions on penalty the JCA suspended Mr Doody's driver's licence upto and including 28 January 21 (3 days). Mr Doody also admitted a further charge under Rule 303(2) in that he failed to comply with a Steward's request when leaving the inquiry room prior to the completion of the hearing. The JCA imposed a fine of $400.

Race 1   CHECK OUT OUR RANGE FOR HIRE MOBILE TROT
TARUKENGA - broke near the 1750m after DEMOLITION MAN had shifted down to trail the leader and settled at the rear. When questioned Driver J Stormont stated that the mare should not have galloped in the incident and no further action was taken.
KEYSTONE COMET - broke at the start checking a trailing runner and was retired from the event. A warning was placed on the horse's mobile barrier manners record.
ROMEO FOXTROT - raced three wide early. Lay in and trotted roughly for several strides near the 850m. Broke near the 250m checking a trailing runner.
STORMS ACOMING - had to take evasive action near the 200m.
SKYZRCLEARNSUNNY - trotted roughly under pressure throughout the run home and could not be driven out.
JASINOVA - checked and had to take evasive action near the 200m.
ULTIMATE MOMENT - checked and broke shortly after the start losing considerable ground.
CEPHEUS - inconvenienced by a breaking runner shortly after the start.
Race 2   MITRE 10 CAMBRIDGE MOBILE PACE
THE PEACEMAKER - held up by a weakening runner near the 500m. Hampered by a breaking runner approaching the 200m.
ITSTHEFINALCOUNTDOWN - over-raced score up. Competed with FORWARDY for a position in the running line rounding the first turn.
FORWARDY - competed with ITSTHEFINALCOUNTDOWN for a position in the running line rounding the first turn. Raced three wide with cover from the 1000m.
ONEDIN PUNTER - raced three wide with cover from the 1100m.
DOWNTOWN BABE - raced three wide early. Weakened from the 400m. Hampered by a breaking runner approaching the 200m.
CAPTAIN NEMO - raced greenly in the score up and was back from position despite the efforts of Driver D Butcher. A warning was placed on the colt's mobile barrier manners record.
COMEDY ACT - Junior Driver K Bublitz was spoken to advisedly regarding using his whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion in the run home.
BLAKE - raced three wide from the 1200m. Broke at the 200m. When questioned Driver P Ferguson confirmed that the horse had broken free of interference. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners record.
Race 3   CAMBRIDGE HOMES MOBILE TROT
SAFRAKOVA - Driver L Chin was questioned regarding him carrying a whip which was not notified and his explanation was accepted on this occasion.
RASTUSBURN - broke at the start losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's mobile barrier manners. Broke for several strides near the 750m losing further ground and was retired form the event.
DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGE - weakened final turn.
ALANA - back from the mobile throughout the score up despite the efforts of Driver S McCaffrey. A warning was placed on the mare's mobile barrier manners. Lay in and broke near the 400m losing its chance.
SIR HENRY CASTLETON - commenced to give ground from the 600m and was retired from the event. A post race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the near hind and the gelding was stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
ISAAC H - back from the Unruly position throughout the score up. Broke near the 350m losing its chance. Driver Z Butcher advised that the gelding had cast a front shoe near the 800m.
Race 4   AGROWQUIP | JOHN DEERE CAMBRIDGE MOBILE PACE
The start was delayed by 6 minutes after TUXEDO BROMAC tipped Driver B Butcher from the sulky in the preliminary which resulted in the track having to be dragged to remove wheel marks made by the Ambulance which attended Mr Butcher. TUXEDO BROMAC was subsequently declared a late scratching at 5.52pm on veterinary advice. Mr Butcher was examined by the St Johns Ambulance staff and cleared to take his remaining drives.
ABDICATE - weakened final stages.
TE AMO - shifted out entering the home straight when leading.
SATCHMO - lay in rounding the bends and in particular entering the final turn before locking wheels with SCOTTISH POACHER, which was shifting ground outwards, resulting in Driver P Ferguson being tipped from the sulky. Mr Ferguson was examined by St Johns Ambulance staff and cleared to take his remaining drives. An investigation was held into this incident and after hearing from Mr Ferguson and viewing the replays Stewards were satisfied that neither driver was at fault and no further action was deemed necessary.
HARVEY SPECTER - checked passing the 400m for several strides.
TUXEDO BROMAC - declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 5.52pm
THE RICK KING - broke approaching the first turn losing its chance and was retired from the event. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing manners.
Race 5   GAVELHOUSE.COM FORTNIGHTLY SALES MOBILE TROT
STILL EYRE - held up in the early and middle stages of the run home.
SUNNY PETITE - broke late in the score up inconveniencing NATTY PAGGER and lost all chance.
IVEGOTBILLS - broke under pressure passing the 150m losing its chance.
FIRA - held up early final turn.
MAJESTIC HARRY - held up briefly passing the 200m.
NATTY PAGGER - inconvenienced by a breaking runner late in the score up.
Race 6   DUNSTAN HORSE FEEDS MOBILE PACE
PROP ROCK - held up early and middle stages of the run home and then raced in restricted room from the 50m.
PACING HOPE - lay in at various stages and in particular entering the home straight contacting the sulky wheel of THEMIGHTYSERINA before pacing roughly for some strides hampering ANGEL BABY to its outside. A warning was placed on the filly's racing manners record.
LENA RIVERS - pulled hard in the score up.
THEMIGHTYSERINA - raced three wide without cover from the 1100m. Sulky contacted early in the run home when weakening.
ANGEL BABY - hampered early in the run home.
MOZZARELLA - paced roughly over the early stages and then over-raced rounding the first turn. Continued to over-race middle stages.
SING TO ME - shifted out near the 900m when improving three wide with cover. Shifted out again approaching the home straight.
Race 7   LES HARRISON TRANSPORT CAMBRIDGE FLYING STAKES MOBILE TROT
KINGS LANDING - broke briefly in the middle stages of the score up and was back a length at dispatch. Broke near the 350m losing its chance.
Race 8   McMILLAN EQUINE FEEDS PROUDLY SUPPORTING RACING MOBILE PACE
IDEAL AGENT - held up briefly early in the run home.
THE BANKER - raced three wide early.
ROUGH AND READY - back from position at dispatch. Driver T Mitchell was warned to maintain his position until the start in the future. Had to shift ground outwards early in the run home to obtain clear racing room.
ITALIAN LAD - raced five back on the outer from its second row draw. Commenced to improve three wide passing the 550m but was forced wide rounding the final turn before finishing on into 5th place beaten 4.9 lengths. Junior Driver O Thornley, assisted by N Rasmussen, was questioned regarding the tactics she adopted during the middle stages and in particular as to whether she had given consideration to improving her gelding to take up a forward position. Miss Thornley stated that ITALIAN LAD normally raced very aggressively however the gelding had felt lethargic over the early stages so she considered that she would have had to work too hard to improve around the field and that her best option was to remain back in mid-field with cover and look to get a trail into the race. Ms Thornley further explained that this did not occur as she had hoped and felt that ITALIAN LAD had only ran on fairly over the final stages. Stable representative N Rasmussen advised that blood would be taken from the gelding in the coming days and Stewards will follow up regarding the results accordingly.
NEW YORK MINUTE - Junior Driver A Harrison, assisted by T Mitchell, admitted a charge under Rule 869(2) in that she used her whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion in the run home. The JCA imposed a fine of $200.00.
Race 9   McMILLAN EQUINE FEEDS FLYING MILE MOBILE PACE
SPANKEM - raced three wide early before crossing to the parked position near the 1100m. Weakened in the run home to finish in 5th place beaten 6.8 lengths. When questioned regarding the performance Driver N Rasmussen stated that she was slightly disappointed with the run, even taking into account having to work early when caught wide on a fast first quarter in 27.8. Ms Rasmussen further advised that the stable would have blood taken in the coming days and Stewards will follow up regarding the results accordingly. A post race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormality.
Race 10   BetaVet MOBILE PACE
FRANKIE JONES - broke in the score up losing its chance. The gelding was placed on the Unruly for future mobile starts.
BETTERBEBETTER - lay in early in the run home and had to be straightened.
CHASE THE GOLD - raced three wide early.
GREATEST SHOWMAN - over-raced near the 1400m before pacing roughly for several strides after contacting the sulky wheel of OPTICAL ILLUSION. Raced three wide from the 1100m and weakened in the run home.
Race 11   3 AT THE PARK FOR ARNA / HAPPY BIRTHDAY BLUEY MOBILE PACE
JIMMY FOX - broke for several strides shortly after the start hampering a trailing runner. The gelding was placed on the Unruly for future mobiles. Commenced to over-race at the 1700m and then paced roughly when being restrained off the back of CARSE O FERN TOM when there was an easing of the pace on the marker line. Continued to over-race before being taken forward three wide to race outside the leader near the 1000m.
SHEFFIELD SPARKY - lay out when attempting to improve down into the passing lane early in the run home and paced roughly for several strides passing the 150m.
EIGHTEEN CARAT - over-raced when being restrained inside the 1100m to take a trail on JIMMY FOX.
BRIAN CHRISTOPHER - had to be strongly restrained passing the 1500m when ending up to the inside of SPIRIT OF ANZAC, which it had been trailing, after there was an easing of the pace on the marker line. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
CARSE O FERN TOM - inconvenienced shortly after the start. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
BUGALUGS - pulled hard in the score up.
Race 12   HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM THE CLUBHOUSE MOBILE TROT
CALL ME TROUBLE - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Lay in near the 1000m when improving three wide. Authorisation of this runner's 1st placing was withheld until Stewards had confirmed that the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horses Regulation whilst in the early gallop.
OUR GRACIE - Trainer S Doody was warned for presenting the mare without the notified blinds. Broke near the 800m losing its chance.
LEESA CASTLETON - lost ground when hampered by a breaking runner near the 800m but quickly recovered.
