Driver K Butt (IN CHEVRON WE TRUST) was warned to exercise care when shifting ground near the 400 metres which briefly hampered an outside runner.

Co-trainer G Dunn advised Stewards on 18 November that VINCENT VAN GONE has recovered well following its disappointing performance at Ashburton last week and will continue its preparation at Motukarara on Sunday.

Trainer P Kerr advised Stewards on 18 November that LANCEWOOD LOUIE has been treated for an elevated white cell count and dehydration following its performance at Ashburton last week and will continue with its current preparation.

Race 1   RANGIORA MAIN STREET AMATEUR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE
NIRVANA BEACH - paced roughly through the early and middle stages. Hung throughout. Weakened final bend. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
JENABELLA - driver A Fitzgerald was spoken to for using his whip free of the rein and with more than a wrist flicking motion.
DEN'S LEGACY - raced wide in the early stages until near the 2000 metres when being restrained to the rear of the field.
MAURICE - lay inwards in the score up. Broke briefly at the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record. Continued to lay inwards on various occasions through the running. Weakened on the final bend. When spoken to regarding the performance, driver N Munro advised he was disappointed with the effort and was unable to provide any explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Mr Munro was spoken to for using his whip free of the rein.
LINTON SHARD - over-raced late in the score up having to be steadied by its driver. Raced wide around the first bend.
Following this race the track was downgraded to Easy.
Race 2   PEGASUS MOBILE TROT
FAST WET N WINDEE - trotted roughly through the middle stages.
BREAK FREE - trotted roughly passing the 800 metres. Broke briefly near the 700 metres.
SPOT THE GAMBLE - hampered near the 700 metres. Broke near the 300 metres hampering trailing runner.
MUSCLE BANK - briefly forced wider near the 1500 metres.
ROSIE'S SON - hampered near the 700 metres.
SILVERLININGS - raced wide early stages.
MAUI - broke briefly at the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record. Shifted outwards near the 1500 metres briefly causing outside runner to race wider before returning to the marker line. Driver D McCormick was reminded of his obligations regarding the Push Out Rule. Hampered by breaking runner on the final bend. Mr McCormick was also spoken to for using his whip free of the rein. Mr McCormick advised he is considering gear changes for the gelding.
CROWN RANGE - paced in the early stages of the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
Race 3   LOBURN MOBILE PACE
SHADOW AVEROSS - the required veterinary clearance was received.
LE TISSIER - over-raced middle stages. Hampered by a weakening runner near the 500 metres.
CABALLE BEACH - hampered by a weakening runner near the 500 metres. Driver K Cox was spoken to for using her whip free of the rein and with more than a wrist flicking motion.
TALIESIN - raced wide without cover from the 1200 metres. Weakened on the final bend hampering trailing runners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Race 4   ASHLEY MOBILE TROT
SOME TIME - driver J Smith was spoken to for loose reining in the home straight. Mr Smith was questioned regarding his tactics in the middle stages when electing not to hand up to the improving YEA YOU. Mr Smith advised the mare had raced well previously in the parked position and performs best when racing on the bit and for this reason he was reluctant to take a trail as the mare had raced lethargically when covered in previous starts. Stewards noted his explanation.
MAJESTIC SUNSET - driver C DeFilippi was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion.
MEGA PIXELS - raced wide early stages. When questioned regarding the performance, driver J Dunn reported that in his opinion the mare had failed to handle the track conditions.
MISS MOPPET - over-raced middle stages. Driver G Smith reported he did not release the sliding blinds due to having the field covered. Mr Smith was warned for allowing his sulky to protrude inside a track marker on the final bend. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until Stewards were satisfied the mare had not gained an advantage when doing so.
CRAZY N LOVE - broke in the score up losing all chance and was retired from the event. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
YEA YOU - raced wide throughout. Weakened final bend.
TRES MAGNIFIQUE - back slightly at the start despite the efforts of driver R Close.
QUAESTOR - raced wide in the early stages. Trotted roughly around the first bend losing ground on the body of the field. Broke near the 300 metres.
LISTEN EASY - held up early stages of the run home.
Following this race the track was downgraded to Slushy.
Race 5   MCCRACKEN'S SPORTS & GOODS MOBILE PACE
BIRD OF PARADISE - when questioned regarding the improved performance, trainer B Ward advised the mare had improved with recent racing and had received an economical run today.
PAUL'S VERDICT - lay outwards under pressure in the early stages of the home straight crowding outside runner.
ALEXY - driver J Young-Grant admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that she drove carelessly in the early stages by allowing her horse to contact the sulky wheel of BIRD OF PARADISE resulting in ALEXY breaking and losing ground with the JCA imposing a fine of $200.
CHASE THE HAT TRICK - broke in the score up losing all chance and was retired from the event. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts.
FLAMBOYANT - crowded by an inside runner in the early stages of the run home.
REFLECTIONSOFMYLIFE - driver T Chmiel was spoken to for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion.
PETE'S DASH - hung inwards throughout. Weakened final bend.
SHARDAN SUZIE - cleared from the unruly for mobile starts.
Race 6   PORT AND EAGLE BREWPUB KAIAPOI FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
FUN IN THE DARK - broke near the 200 metres before falling to the track. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in a front leg. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance and until the completion of one satisfactory trial. Driver G Smith was unharmed in this incident.
FULHAM DANCER - trainer R Holmes was issued a warning for presenting FULHAM DANCER with blinds which had not been notified. Raced wide early stages. Raced ungenerously throughout. Weakened from the 700 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
DELIGHT MY FIRE - weakened final stages.
SWEET LORESS - weakened leaving the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance, driver K Butt advised the mare had been unsuited to racing parked.
LIVE SPORT - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver K Newman. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare.
A GUINNESS DANCE - paced roughly late in the score up and was out of position at the start. Stood down to complete a satisfactory mobile trial.
Race 7   KAIAPOI HANDICAP TROT
BRIGHT GLOW - driver I Cameron reported he had been unable to activate the sliding blinds due to the cord becoming entangled.
CABELLA NOIR - broke at the start.
RED HARBOUR - trotted roughly over the concluding stages when being driven out.
BAXTER - co-trainers G and N Hope were warned for being late to notify BAXTER would be racing with removable deafeners. Driver B Hope was spoken to for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion on the final bend and for loose reining in the home straight.
TIME IN A BOTTLE - held up final bend.
PRINCE TEKA - raced wide final bend. Driver G Smith reported that the gelding had hung throughout and he would be recommending gear changes.
MEDUSA - raced wide without cover from the 800 metres.
WESTEROS - trotted roughly in the early stages. Trotted roughly when improving wide from the 1200 metres. Weakened final bend.
Race 8   CHRISTMAS AT THE RACES RANGIORA DEC 20 MOBILE PACE
SONIC REIGN - over-raced in the middle stages. Held up early in the final bend. Lay outwards in the home straight.
STICK MAN - the connections advised the horse has been gelded since last racing. When spoken to regarding the performance driver/trainer T Chmiel advised he was very disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination including an endoscopic examination revealed signs of mucus in the trachea. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance. Mr Chmiel reported he will have blood tests taken in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.
OFF N GONE - paced roughly final bend. Weakened over the concluding stages. When spoken to regarding the performance driver T Williams reported the filly had received every opportunity and he was disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
STAR WATCH - raced four wide final bend.
MARTIN JOHN - raced wide around the first bend. Over-raced in the middle stages when in the parked position and being restrained to obtain cover on the back of OFF N GONE.
BETTOR GRUNTER - over-raced early stages when being restrained to the rear of the field. Held up final bend.
PAY ME VISA - briefly held up early stages of the run home.
TERRIER - weakened final bend.
Trainer T Chmiel advised Stewards on 24 November that STICK MAN has been treated with antibiotics following its disappointing performance at Rangiora last week.
Stable representative J Dunn advised Stewards on 24 November that OFF N GONE has been treated for a minor infection since racing at Rangiora last week. Subsequent to this the horse has returned unsatisfactory blood test results that required further treatment necessitating its scratching from its engagement at Addington on Friday.
