Race 7 - WAIMAKARIRI DISTRICT (JUNIOR DRIVERS) MOBILE PACE
Trainer M Heaton advised Stewards that blood tests taken from CONTRACTUAL ISSUES and MISTER MIGHTY following their disappointing performances at Rangiora last week revealed no abnormalities. Mr Heaton added that both horses have worked well since and will travel to Manawatu next week to continue their preparations.

KERALA STAR - paced roughly in the run home. Driver J Curtin was warned for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion.
SHEEZAGOLDENGIRL - broke shortly after the start losing ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.

WESTAR LAD - under pressure leaving the final bend. When questioned regarding the performance driver B Hope reported he was disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
HEY TONIGHT - paced roughly shortly after the start. Paced roughly and hung inwards in the early stages of the home straight. Crowded by an outside runner near the 250 metres.
BOLZANO - paced roughly near the 150 metres and had to be steadied.
MAHIA - raced wide without cover through the middle stages.
ROSIES TERROR - lay inwards near the 250 metres crowding an inside runner. Driver J Morrison was spoken to for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion.

MONGOLIAN MARSHAL - began awkwardly.
CRIMSON RAIN - paced roughly through the early stages when being restrained to obtain cover.

VINCENT VAN GONE - when spoken to regarding the performance, driver G O'Reilly reported the horse had peaked on its run passing the 200 metres after improving wide on the final bend and he had been disappointed with its effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
Co-trainer G Dunn advised Stewards on 18 November that VINCENT VAN GONE has recovered well following its disappointing performance at Ashburton last week and will continue its preparation at Motukarara on Sunday.
Race 4   CATES GRAIN & SEED MOBILE PACE
EMMA'S BOY - held up final bend by a weakening runner.
VESNINA - hung outwards and paced roughly in the early stages. Again paced roughly middle stages of the run home when under pressure. When spoken to regarding the performance, driver J Dunn could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
BETTOR TALK ART - driver R Close was spoken to for loose reining in the home straight.
THE TERRORFIER - raced keenly and hung inwards passing the 1700 metres. Held up final bend by a weakening runner and paced roughly.
SIR BRIGADOON - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver L McKay. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
LANCEWOOD LOUIE - hung inwards throughout when leading and raced greenly. Paced roughly final bend when weakening. When spoken to regarding the performance, driver B Butt could offer no explanation and was very disappointed with the effort of the colt. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery. Trainer P Kerr reported he will have blood tests taken from the horse in the coming days. Stewards will follow up the results with Mr Kerr.
UNFAZED - driver S Tomlinson was spoken to for loose reining and using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion.
TASMAN TEMPEST - held up final bend by a weakening runner.
SPORTSCAM - held up early stages of the run home.
Trainer P Kerr advised Stewards on 18 November that LANCEWOOD LOUIE has been treated for an elevated white cell count and dehydration following its performance at Ashburton last week and will continue with its current preparation.
Race 5   STEWART & HOLLAND TROT
PLAY DOUGH - fractious prior to the start causing a delay. Sent to the unruly position by the Starter where the horse will remain for future standing starts. Broke rounding the first bend losing all chance. Stood down to complete one satisfactory trial.
FRANCO JOSIAH - trotted roughly late in the run home and broke just after the finish line. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until it was confirmed the gelding had been in the correct gait when its nose reached the finish line.
DD'S SUPER STUART - trotted roughly around the bends.
DR CLIFF - trotted roughly throughout. Broke briefly near the 1700 metres. Broke again on the final bend hampering a trailing runner.
CABELLA NOIR - hampered by a breaking runner final bend.
BLINK N BONES - raced wide early stages. A post-race veterinary examination showed the gelding to be lame in the right front leg. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
MICKEY JAY - broke near the 1250 metres when improving wide on the track losing all chance.
Race 6   DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS SIRES STAKES FILLIES SERIES (H1) MOB PACE
BRAEVIEW KELLY - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
ARDEN'S DELIGHT - over-raced through the early stages when being restrained and as a result raced greenly.
AVANA - driver T Williams was spoken to for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion.

DREAMINSOVER - broke in the score up at the first attempt at a start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Driver A Mugford reported the offside hopple shortener had become entangled around the hopple loop after activation.
C R GOLD - raced wide early stages. Locked wheels with BE MINE TONIGHT near the 600 metres when that runner hung inwards.
DUASTAR - driver C Smith was spoken to for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion.
MARKHAM EYRE - broke in the score up checking an outside runner with a false start being declared. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Raced wide early stages. Paced roughly around the first bend.
FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ - checked in the score up by a breaking runner and was then unable to take up its correct barrier position due to having insufficient room with a false start being declared. Driver S Tomlinson was spoken to for using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion.
GAYLE FORCE - raced wide early stages. Driver G Thornley was spoken to for using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion.
TIEBREAKER - raced wide early stages. Checked near the 600 metres losing ground.
HELLS SHADOW - driver J Simpson was warned regarding using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion and to break up his use of the whip with alternative actions.

THE DIVA - broke at the start and shifted out hampering an outside runner.

LENNOX BROMAC - broke at the start losing all chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
SOUTHERLY CHANGE - broke at the start losing considerable ground.
JUST N AWE - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Held up early and middle stages of the run home. Stewards questioned driver C DeFilippi regarding the tactics he adopted on the final bend when electing not to shift ground wider on the track. Mr DeFilippi explained that he had initially shifted ground to the outside of THE DIVA however that runner had been forced wider on the track by the inside CAESAR'S QUEST which resulted in him becoming held up after horses had improved on his outside. Stewards noted his comments.
SHE'S TOUGH - paced roughly before breaking briefly racing into the first bend hampering a trailing runner.
GILLIGANS ISLAND - lay inwards in the early stages of the run home.
NO NUKES SKIPPER - hampered racing into the first bend and paced roughly.
GLACIER COASTER - broke at the start. Broke again racing into the first bend losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.

MONGOLIAN CONQUEROR - when spoken to regarding the improved performance, driver B Orange advised he had received an economical run throughout from a good barrier draw.

FOR TODAY - raced wide early stages. Weakened final bend. When spoken to regarding the performance, driver J Dunn reported he was very disappointed with the effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. The connections advised the mare would be retired.
DONEGAL CARRICKFIN - raced wide early stages until reaching the parked position near the 1500 metres.
DYNAMITE - raced wide around the final bend. When spoken to regarding the performance, driver J Cox reported the horse had been unsuited to working wide without cover from the 700 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
ANNIE RICHTER - hung outwards near the 150 metres. Driver T Chmiel was spoken to for using his whip free of the rein and with more than a wrist flicking motion.
