Race 1   WELCOME TO IRT NZ TROTTING CUP DAY HANDICAP TROT
GLOBE TREKKER - driver A Lethaby will be spoken to in the coming days for using her whip free of the rein in the home straight.
CLYDE - broke after 150 metres losing ground.
OVERZEALOUS - over-raced middle stages. Driver P Davis was spoken to for using his whip free of the rein.
ZSA ZOE - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Trotted roughly on the bend near the 1000 metres and throughout the back straight on the final occasion. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery.
MADELEINE STOWE - when spoken to regarding the improved performance, the connections advised the majority of the mare's recent starts had been from a handicap where she had not been able to race as close to the pace as preferred but in these races had still run fast closing sectionals leaving the connections to be confident of a forwards showing today if able to obtain the right run.
RYDGEMONT SON - raced wide early stages. Weakened final bend. When spoken to regarding the performance, driver B Williamson reported the gelding had been uncomfortable throughout which he attributed to it having to be re-shod earlier today. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
DOFF YOUR CAP - lay outwards through the final straight.
Race 2   BUSHBUCK (CUP DAY MAIDEN) MOBILE PACE
BAD HOMBRE - held up final bend. Driver R May was spoken to for using his whip free of the rein.
MAGIC MIKE - locked wheels with SUDAMAN briefly near the 1500 metres. Had to be steadied near the 1200 metres due to an easing of the pace.
EVANGALIST - galloped in the score up hampering other runners but was able to take up its position prior to the start. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier record. Held up final bend. Driver J Thomas was spoken to regarding the manner he shifted outwards near the 250 metres crowding the racing room of ROLLYOUROWN. J Thomas was also spoken to for using his whip free of the rein.
SPIKEY BOY - unsuccessfully challenged for the front near the 1300 metres and despite the efforts of driver B Orange slackened the pace noticeably causing interference to the two wide line. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing record. Weakened passing the 600 metres.
SUDAMAN - paced roughly after the start. Raced wide early stages. Locked wheels with MAGIC MIKE briefly near the 1500 metres when unsuccessfully attempting to ease that runner down the track.
SERIOUS MOONLITE - lay outwards and contacted ROLLYOUROWN shortly after the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the colt. Raced fiercely between the 1400 metres and the 1200 metres when driver R Close was attempting to surrender the lead to the challenging SPIKEY BOY. Weakened final bend.
ROLLYOUROWN - checked and broke shortly after the start settling at the rear. Hampered near the 1200 metres. Briefly crowded near the 250 metres having to be steadied. Raced greenly throughout. Driver T Williams reported the gelding had been striking the sulky wheels throughout.
NED KELLY - paced roughly through the early stages. Checked and broke near the 1200 metres.
CASTELO DE VIDE - driver B Butt reported his sulky tyre to have deflated near the 900 metres.
SURFERS DELIGHT - checked and broke near the 1200 metres.
BLAZING IMPACT - over-raced when the pace eased and broke when contacting the sulky of SPIKEY BOY approaching the 1200 metres resulting in a concertina effect through the field.
PEMBROOK'S DESTINY - checked losing ground near the 1200 metres. Lay inwards throughout the final straight.
FAZE OF GLORY - hampered near the 1200 metres. Raced wide from the 900 metres.
HUEGO BOS - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
Race 3   HYDROFLOW HANDICAP TROT
CHIEF OF STAFF - began awkwardly and was slow as a result.
GLOBAL FLIGHT - broke approaching the 2200 metres. Checked at the 250 metres.
B D YASOTHON - broke after 100 metres losing ground.
PRINCE TEKA - broke shortly after the start.
THE BLOSS - driver B Borcoskie was spoken to for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion.
SIOUX PRINCESS - broke at the start. Improved three wide at the 1400 metres but compounded approaching the 850 metres hampering trailing runners and being distanced at the finishing line. Driver S Ottley reported her mare to have pulled up with little warning. When questioned trainer M Jones advised the mare had done this on a previous occasion some time ago. Stewards placed a warning on the horse's racing record. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
PHOEBE ONYX - broke shortly after the start. Hampered by a weakening runner near the 850 metres.
GET LUCKY - raced wide early stages. Over-raced middle stages. Weakened near the 400 metres and lay inwards at the top of the straight locking wheels with GLOBAL FLIGHT.
SUNDONS FLYER - broke at the start, settled then broke again shortly after. Over-raced middle stages.
ANDOVERLOV - shifted outwards at the 1250 metres forcing another runner wider. Driver B Butt was fined $200 for breaching the Push Out Rule. Checked and broke passing the 850 metres losing its chance.
SUPERFAST LAD - broke at the start. Hampered briefly passing the 250 metres having to be steadied.
JIMMY CARTER - hampered in the early stages by breaking runners. Forced to race wider on the track near the 1250 metres when ANDOVERLOV shifted outwards. Hampered by a weakening runner near the 850 metres. Held up rounding the final bend and had to shift outwards to obtain clear racing room near the 200 metres.
Trainer B Negus advised Stewards that SUNDONS FLYER was served on 17 November 2020.
Race 4   NEVELE R FILLIES SERIES FINAL (MOBILE PACE)
A DELIGHTFUL ACT - held up rounding the final bend by a tiring runner.
PEARL HARBOUR - weakened passing the 300 metres.
LULU LE MANS - raced wide from the 800 metres. Gave ground passing the 400 metres.
ON A ROLL - raced wide early and middle stages. Tired from the 700 metres.
AMAZING DREAM - raced wide with cover until shifting four wide near the 1000 metres to race three wide without cover near the 900 metres.
SPELLBOUND - over-raced middle stages.
Race 5   DUNSTAN HORSEFEEDS JUNIOR FREE-FOR-ALL (MOBILE PACE)
FABRIZIO - gave ground over the final stages. When questioned regarding the performance, both driver B Orange and co-trainer N Purdon advised the horse had failed to handle the rise in class. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
MIKEY MAGUIRE - raced wide early stages.
PEMBROOK PLAYBOY - raced wide early stages.
VINTAGE CHEDDAR - driver B Williamson was spoken to for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion at the 150 metres.
JAZZY STAR - over-raced when held up rounding the final bend. Broke when shifting into the passing lane near the 200 metres.
STARS TONIGHT - raced roughly for a distance after 100 metres. Again raced roughly on a number of occasions through the running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
WILD EXCUSE - weakened near the 600 metres. When questioned regarding the performance, driver G Smith advised the mare had to work too hard from the draw. Trainer P Burrows advised that he was disappointed with the effort and the mare would now be sent for a spell. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
Race 6   MITRE 10 MOBILE PACE
JOHNNY EYRE - sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 800 metres. Hampered near the 350 metres. Driver K Cameron was spoken to for using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion.
ANAMAJOR - lay outwards near the 150 metres inconveniencing MOSSMAN momentarily.
BUCKSKIN - raced wide early stages. Checked and locked wheels on the final bend losing its chance.
ABOVE N BEYOND - raced wide early stages. Jumped and had to be steadied near the 350 metres inconveniencing trailing runners. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing record.
JAKE - unable to maintain its barrier position and as a result started several lengths out of position. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
CHILLER BAY - over-raced over the final 800 metres.
SQUARE DEALER - over-raced near the 1300 metres when being restrained to trail. Hampered by a slackening of the pace near the 350 metres and shifted outwards locking wheels with BUCKSKIN losing its chance.
BETTER FLY - hampered near the 350 metres and sustained a punctured sulky tyre.
MIGHTY LOOEE - over-raced through the middle stages and made contact with the sulky of JOHNNY EYRE near the 800 metres. Lay outwards near the 350 metres.
Race 7   LIVAMOL NZ TROTTING FREE-FOR-ALL (MOBILE TROT)
THE DOMINATOR - broke in the score up checking the trailing SPLASH COLA with a false start being declared. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record. Driver C Thornley elected to remain in his barrier position for the re-start. Broke in the score up of the re-start losing its chance.
MAJESTIC MAN - when questioned regarding the performance, driver N Williamson reported the gelding had over-raced when leading after becoming stirred up due to the false start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
HEAVYWEIGHT HERO - struck track markers on the final bend. Driver B Butt was issued with a warning. Stewards delayed the all clear until it was established the gelding had not gained any advantage. Mr Butt admitted using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion and the JCA suspended his licence from the conclusion of racing on 13 November up to and including 5 December 2020 (7 days) and in addition imposed a fine of $750.
PRES THE BELLE - over-raced early and middle stages.
ONE APOLLO - broke approaching the 100 metres.
ULTIMATE STRIDE - over-raced and broke in the score up at the first attempt at a start. Raced wide in the early stages. Stumbled and broke near the 150 metres. Driver M Williamson reported the entire had trotted roughly throughout. Trainer P Williamson advised he would consider spelling the horse.
TOUGH MONARCH - broke briefly shortly after the start. Raced wide from the 900 metres. Hung outwards under pressure through the final straight.
SPLASH COLA - checked in the score up with a false start declared. Briefly hampered in the second start but was able to be in position. Broke after 100 metres losing its chance.
CRACKER HILL - driver B Williamson admitted using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion and the JCA suspended his licence from the conclusion of racing on 13 November up to and including 27 November 2020 (7 days) and in addition imposed a fine of $250.
WINTERFELL - slow to leave the pre-race circle being back at the re-start. Over-raced early and middle stages.
Race 8   WOODLANDS STUD SIRES' STAKES FINAL (MOBILE PACE)
WAVETHEBILL - raced keenly middle stages.
DASHING MAJOR - raced wide in the early stages.
SHAN NOBLE - raced wide in the early stages.
KRUG - hung inwards when driver B Orange attempted to shift the colt wider near the 300 metres with the horse then shifting inwards to improve next to the pylons. Had to be steadied over the concluding stages when in restricted room. Driver B Orange reported the colt had hung inwards causing him difficulty. Co-trainer N Purdon advised that the colt had raced intractably in recent starts when wearing a boring pole so elected to race the horse with a rein burr only today however the horse had proven difficult to steer. Mr Purdon added the horse would now be sent for a spell. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
PACE N PRIDE - driver N Rasmussen admitted using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion and the JCA suspended her licence from the conclusion of racing on 13 November up to and including 5 December 2020 (7 days).
Race 9   HORNBY LIQUOR CENTRE MOBILE PACE
SOMEKINDAWONDERFUL - raced fiercely through the middle stages. Hampered by a weakening runner on the final bend. Driver R May reported the gelding's tendency to over-race had led to its disappointing showing.
BAD TO THE BONE - raced wide early stages.
BURLINGTON - raced wide early stages.
KOENIGSEGG - shifted outwards near the 1150 metres forcing another runner wider on the track. Driver M Kerr was fined $200 for breaching the Push Out Rule.
AQUA SANCTA - raced wide early stages. Weakened passing the 600 metres hampering trailing runners. When questioned regarding the performance, driver T Williams advised the horse had worked hard early and wasn't suited by the tempo of the race or the step up in class. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stewards will follow up with connections in the coming days.
STEEL THE SHOW - raced wide early stages.
JAY TEE TYRON - forced to race wider near the 1150 metres when KOENIGSEGG shifted outwards. Broke for a short distance passing the 1000 metres.
Co-trainer M Purdon advised Stewards on 12 November that AQUA SANCTA has recovered well following its run at Addington on Cup Day and will have blinds added to its gear for its engagement on Show Day.
Race 10   AVON CITY FORD MOBILE PACE
ALTERIOR MOTIF - raced wide early stages. Over-raced when being restrained near the 1300 metres. Carried a flat tyre over the final stages.
TOM MARTIN - had to be steadied near the 1150 metres when there was a slackening of the pace.
CRANBOURNE - had to be steadied near the 1150 metres when there was a slackening of the pace. Held up in the early and middle stages of the run home.
INVALUABLE - over-raced when being restrained in the early stages.
DOWN TO THE BONE - raced wide early stages. Gave ground near the 300 metres. Paced roughly passing the 150 metres.
GLENLEDI CHIEF - over-raced when being restrained in the early stages. Had to be steadied near the 1150 metres when there was a slackening of the pace.
KRUIZR - had to be steadied near the 1150 metres when there was a slackening of the pace.
Race 11   IRT NEW ZEALAND TROTTING CUP (STAND PACE)
The field had to be turned away from addressing the barriers when ASHLEY LOCAZ and TANGO TARA came together with TANGO TARA being hampered and driver J Curtin calling to the Starter. ASHLEY LOCAZ then continued to shift outwards and lunge at the barriers. Starter P Lamb was questioned as to why at the restart several outside runners were permitted to approach the barriers quicker than some inside runners. Mr Lamb explained that the entire field had been called into line to address the barriers but noticed the inside runners were slower and so had given them an additional call. He noticed at this time COPY THAT was reined up and other runners moving forward so soon afterwards activated the start.
COPY THAT - slow in the early stages and got back as a result. Paced roughly passing the 1300 metres when improving wide on the track. When spoken to regarding the performance, driver B Orange reported that after being slow away the horse improved wide with cover through the middle stages however when placed under pressure inside the final 400 metres had failed to respond to his urgings. Trainer R Green advised that the horse had to do too much work after missing the start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
THEFIXER - held up middle stages of the run home.
TRIPLE EIGHT - tired from the 600 metres.
MACH SHARD - raced wide in the early stages. Tired from the 700 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
DI CAPRIO - raced keenly in the middle stages.
Race 12   GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND TROT
SHOW ME THE GRAY - broke at the start.
ROYAL PRIDE - broke at the start. Held up throughout the run home.
MISS CRAZED - broke at the start losing all chance.
GRAND PRINCESS - broke over the concluding stages.
DON'T LOOK BACK - broke at the start.
WILLANGUS LAD - broke near the 2200 metres. Broke again near the 700 metres.
SILVER SURFER - broke near the 600 metres.
SODS LAW - raced wide in the early stages.
I DREAM OF JEANNIE - broke at the start.
GOLD CHAIN - trainer B Butt was issued a warning for presenting GOLD CHAIN without the notified half hopples.
ISLA ELSIE - broke inside the 50 metres and was lapped on at the finish by ROYAL PRIDE. Relegated to 6th placing by the JCA.
Trainer B Negus advised Stewards that SHE'S ALLTHE CRAZE was served on 17 November 2020.
Race 13   FIRST DIRECT TAXIS MOBILE PACE
BETTOR BELIEVE IT - raced wide early stages. Hung inwards throughout.
GLIDING AWAY - raced wide early stages.
STANDOUT - held up in the early stages of the home straight having to shift ground outwards near the 100 metres to obtain clear running.
