Trainer D Hunter advised Stewards on 3 November that a scope has confirmed that DESTINY JONES is suffering from a respiratory infection. Mr Hunter added that following treatment the mare will most likely resume on Show Day at Addington.

Race 1   RANGIORA HRC WELCOMES CUP WEEK MOBILE PACE
HEY TONIGHT - held up in the early and middle stages of the run home.
TIGER LOU - lay in throughout the run home.
DUFFY HOLLOW -over-raced middle stages. Contacted by PLAY BY EAR near the 300 metres with driver G Smith becoming briefly unbalanced. Driver G Smith reported he did not release the deafeners due to not obtaining clear running until late in the run home. Mr Smith was questioned regarding his driving tactics near the 650 metres when he elected not to follow PLAY BY EAR forward in the three wide line. Mr Smith advised that his horse is not suited to doing too much work and it was his intention to improve later in the running. However he had been inconvenienced by PLAY BY EAR breaking which resulted in him being unable to improve ahead of MAHIA and then being held up. He added that in his opinion PLAY BY EAR was not likely to take him far enough into the race and so retained his position.
DEJA BLUE - driver T Chmiel was spoken to regarding using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion.
PLAY BY EAR - raced wide from the 1100 metres. Broke near the 300 metres and briefly shifted inwards making contact with DUFFY HOLLOW.
MAHIA - raced wide early stages. Broke briefly near the 150 metres. Driver M Jones was warned for using his whip free of the rein.
SHADOW AVEROSS - late scratching on veterinary advice at 7.50am. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
PORT ELIZABETH - weakened over the concluding stages.
ROSIES TERROR - held up for clear racing room over the final stages.

BELLA BUTTON - driver S Lethaby was spoken to regarding using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion.
MAUI - broke on the final bend.
FAST WET N WINDEE - trotted roughly around the final bend when under pressure.
QUEEN OF STRATHFIELD - raced wide in the early stages. Broke near the 200 metres losing all chance.
STEEL LEGEND - raced wide in the early stages.
EILISH HALL - driver J Curtin was spoken to regarding using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion.
SILVERLININGS - broke near the 1600 metres.
Race 3   KAIAPOI CLUB RACING SECTION NZ CUP WEEK SWEEPSTAKE PACE
TYKE - driver G O'Reilly was questioned regarding his decision not to improve in the passing lane. Mr O'Reilly advised his horse had been inclined to lay outwards through the running and so felt it best to go with the movement when a run was presented.
UNCHANGED MEMORY - paced roughly on various occasions through the running. Broke on the final bend .
LAY ON MACDUFF - weakened from the 700 metres.
THE BLACK SHADOW - lay in around the bends. Driver R May was warned for using his whip free of the rein.
CABALLE BEACH - began awkwardly.
DRINK THE WIND - late scratching on veterinary advice at 7.20am. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
TALIESIN - broke at the start. Paced roughly over the concluding stages.
Race 4   DAWE CONTRACTING MOBILE PACE
BOUDICA - the connections advised the filly would be racing in season.
UNFAZED - raced wide early stages.
MACH'S ELIMINATOR - fractious leaving the pre-race circle and broke early in the score up having to work harder than expected to be in position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Paced roughly on the first bend. The connections advised it was their intention to send the mare for a spell.
A GUINNESS DANCE - hung outwards in the score up and was out of position at the candy pole and start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Hung outwards throughout proving difficult for driver R Houghton. Paced roughly passing the 1000 metres and again near the 600 metres.
SPECIAL DREAM - lay in on the final bend.
Race 5   LEVELHEAD INSULATION FILLIES & MARES TROT
SUNGAIT'S LEGACY - broke entering the first bend hampering trailing runners and losing all chance.
JUSTAN'S SISTER - hampered by a breaking runner first bend.
CABELLA NOIR - hampered by a breaking runner first bend.
MISS MOPPET - raced wide and over-raced middle stages. Driver K Tomlinson advised the sliding blinds were not activated due to the cord becoming entangled.
FAITH NO MORE - late scratching on veterinary advice at 10.50am. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
Race 6   RANGIORA MEMBERS & STEWARDS MOBILE PACE
AMERICAN FLYER - raced fiercely in the score up and briefly raced inside the barrier arm before being restrained to take up its position prior to the candy pole. Over-raced middle stages. Held up by a weakening runner final bend. Continued to be held up throughout the run home.
MARKHAM EYRE - driver B Hope was spoken to regarding using his whip with more than a wrist flicking motion.
KOROMIKO EYRE - weakened on the final bend and lay in contacting track markers.
BIRD OF PARADISE - out of position at the start.
MORDECAI -out of position at the start. Held up throughout the run home. Driver K Tomlinson reported she did not activate the removable deafeners or sliding blinds in consequence.
DISMARA - out of position at the start. Raced fiercely in the early stages when being restrained towards the rear of the field. Raced wide final bend. When questioned regarding the performance, driver M Hurrell reported the gelding had performed to his expectations.
MISTER MIGHTY - out of position at the start.
COMFORTABLY NUMB - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
PAUL'S VERDICT - raced wide around the first bend.
CHEDDAR MADE BETA - raced wide around the first bend.
JONTY JAMES - late scratching on Veterinary advice at 8.15am. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
Race 7   WAIMAKARIRI DISTRICT (JUNIOR DRIVERS) MOBILE PACE
C R GOLD - heavily checked near the 450 metres losing its chance.
REINIMIN PATRON - raced fiercely throughout the middle stages causing driver B Laughton considerable difficulty. Locked wheels with FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ approaching the 450 metres losing its chance. Due to travelling so keenly was not able to be freed causing a significant slackening of the pace to following runners. Mr Laughton advised that the gelding had strongly favoured one rein throughout. Mr Laughton further advised he would be recommending gear changes.
STETSON - raced wide early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field. Hampered on the final bend losing considerable ground.
JENABELLA - hung outwards in the score up and was out of position at the start. Driver A Cameron was spoken to regarding using her whip with more than a wrist flicking motion.
CROSSO'S CULLECT - heavily checked near the 450 metres with driver K Tomlinson being dislodged and continuing free of its driver before being captured over the final stages. Driver K Tomlinson was examined by St John personnel and unharmed in this incident.
CONTRACTUAL ISSUES - checked near the 450 metres and lost considerable ground. Trainer M Heaton reported the gelding appeared to be showing the symptoms of a cold post-race. Stewards will follow up with Mr Heaton in the coming days.
FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ - shifted wider near the 1400 metres when improving three wide. Stewards spoke with drivers S Tomlinson (FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ) and O Thornley (ALREADY GONE) regarding this incident and it was established that ALREADY GONE had improved outwards well prior to having its wheel covered. Lay in when weakening near the 500 metres and soon after locked wheels with REINIMIN PATRON checking trailing runners.
HELLS SHADOW - heavily checked near the 450 metres losing its chance.
DREAMINSOVER - heavily checked on the final bend losing its chance.
LADY MATARA - late scratching on veterinary advice at 2.32pm. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
Trainer M Heaton advised Stewards that blood tests taken from CONTRACTUAL ISSUES and MISTER MIGHTY following their disappointing performances at Rangiora last week revealed no abnormalities. Mr Heaton added that both horses have worked well since and will travel to Manawatu next week to continue their preparations.
Race 8   WELCOME TO HRNZ GARY WOODHAM HANDICAP PACE
MANJIMUP - fractious prior to the start causing a delay. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
JUST N AWE - broke at the start losing ground.
SISTER'S DELIGHT - broke at the start. Over-raced middle stages.
THE KAIK - broke at the start. Raced wide early stages.
GLACIER COASTER - over-raced middle stages. Held up throughout the run home. Driver J Young-Grant advised the removable deafeners and sliding blinds were not activated in consequence.
GOOD ON YA KIWI - broke at the start.
FOLKLORE - late scratching at 9.30am on veterinary advice. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance.
MORNINGSTAR GOLD - broke at the start. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
GLEN ELGIN TOMSON - lay in on the final bend. When questioned regarding the horse's performance, driver B Orange explained that the gelding was set a difficult task being fresh up off 20 metres and that being pushed very wide around the final bend had been detrimental to its chances. He added that he was surprised at the horse's favoritism given its recent Workout performance.
Race 9   CHRISTMAS AT THE RACES AT RANGIORA 20 DEC HCP TROT
TRICKY RASTUS - lay in on the final bend contacting several track markers. Broke briefly near the 200 metres.
DR CLIFF - fractious prior the start. Broke at the start. Broke briefly near the 1950 metres. Trotted roughly passing the 1300 metres. Held up on the final bend and hung inwards contacting track markers.
LOCKSMITH - broke after 100 metres losing all chance.
JERRY GARCIA - raced wide early stages.
DD'S SUPER STUART - trotted roughly at various stages throughout. Broke for several strides near the 450 metres.
TAKE AFTER ME - raced wide from the 1200 metres.
MAJESTIC SUNSET - held up leaving the final bend. Trotted roughly over the concluding stages and was unable to be driven out by driver J Curtin.
MIGHTY FLYING ROCKER - broke on the final bend.
TIME IN A BOTTLE - held up early and middle stages of the home straight.
MISSY MOO - weakened final bend.
BJ LINDENNY - raced wide early stages. Weakened near the 600 metres.
Race 10   NORTH CANTERBURY TROTTING-TRIALS AT RANGIORA MOB PACE
CHAL BE - broke early in the score up, however was able to be in position at the start.
JAFFA JOSH - hung outwards in the score up and through the early stages.
IN CHEVRON WE TRUST - driver K Butt will be spoken to in the coming days regarding the manner she drove near the 400 metres.
FOREGONE CONCLUSION - raced wide early stages.
