Race 1   NIGHT 'N DAY PARK (AMATEUR DRIVERS) MOBILE PACE
DALNESS ARIZONA - driver R Sissons was spoken to regarding using his whip free of the rein and in more than a wrist only flicking motion.
YANKEE DIVA - weakened from the 600 metres.
SENORITA MARGARITA - raced wide early stages until reaching the parked position.
HIGHLAND REIGN - driver C Wigg was questioned regarding the manner she drove on the first bend as to whether she could have made a better effort to hold the position behind REFINE instead losing that position to FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ. Ms Wigg explained that her runner had been lethargic in the early stages despite her urgings and so had lost any advantage over the outside runner. Because of this she felt she was going to be eased down to the pylons so elected to restrain and follow FOUR STARZZZ SHIRAZ instead. Stewards noted her comments. Ms Wigg was also spoken to regarding using her whip in more than a wrist only flicking motion.
ROCKNGOODTIME - driver B Wilmott lost his whip during the running.
MELTON REACTOR - broke early in the score up and was a long way out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Driver A Edge was spoken to regarding using his whip free of the rein early in the run home.
Race 2   MORRISON'S SADDLERY & FEED TROT
NORDIC PRINCE - broke racing into the first bend. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing record. Broke again near the 400 metres. Weakened from the 650 metres.
LINE A LOVE - lay in on the final bend. Held up over the concluding stages.
INHERENT ROYAL - held up for clear racing room for the majority of the home straight. Driver S Ottley reported she did not release the deafeners in consequence.
MARANATHA ATLAS - trotted roughly from the 500 metres before breaking near the 250 metres. Cleared from the unruly for future standing starts.
SHANDON BELLS - broke at the start.
FLYIN SID - broke at the start.
SHEZA MIGHTY MONARCH - broke at the start and was unable to be restrained for a considerable distance. Stood down to complete two satisfactory trials from a stand.
ONE OVER ALL - broke briefly at the start. Driver G Smith advised he did not release the deafeners due to having the field covered.
ILSAS SON - fractious prior to the start. The gelding turned abruptly and was facing the wrong way necessitating a false start be declared. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
Race 3   EZYKONECT RURAL BROADBAND MOBILE PACE
RIVEERED - paced roughly final bend. Driver O Thornley was spoken to regarding using her whip in more than a wrist only flicking motion.
CABALLE BEACH - broke near the 300 metres hampering trailing runner.
MAJOR MOOSE - when questioned regarding the performance driver T Williams was not able to offer any explanation for the disappointing effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
KWIK SPORT - raced wide in the early stages and over-raced throughout.
MALDITO - a false start was declared when MALDITO broke early in the score up hampering runners on the second line. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record. Driver J Simpson elected to remain in his barrier position for the re-start. Raced wide early stages. Weakened from the 500 metres.
MAGIC SIGN - broke on the first bend hampering trailing runner. Broke again near the 1100 metres checking trailing runners. A warning was placed on the racing record of the colt.
PLAY BY EAR - hampered by a breaking runner on the first bend. Checked near the 1100 metres.
PERFECT CUT - checked near the 1100 metres. Hampered near the 300 metres.
LE TISSIER - hampered by a breaking runner on the first bend. Checked near the 1100 metres.
Race 4   EQUINE VETERINARY SERVICES PACE
GOING FOR GOLD - checked and broke at the start.
ART COLLECTOR - checked at the start. Over-raced middle stages.
DREAM ON JAFFA - broke at the start and shifted inwards abruptly checking inside runners and losing its chance. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts.
VIEWFIELD DREAM - there was a delay to the start due to VIEWFIELD DREAM being slow to leave the pre-race circle. Driver S Thornley elected to start from the unruly position where the mare will remain for future standing starts.
MARK DUNNETT - held up for clear racing room throughout the run home.
CRYSTAL DAYTOM - over-raced middle stages.
DUFFY HOLLOW - broke racing into the first bend. Over-raced through the middle stages when being restrained to obtain cover.
SOCIAL MEDIA - driver K Cox was spoken to regarding using her whip in more than a wrist only flicking motion.
GLITZ AND GLAM - checked and broke at the start.
WESTBURN BLISS - broke briefly at the start.
DASH FOR CASH - placed in restricted room near the 2100 metres and briefly raced inside track markers. Hung out and broke near the 1400 metres. Paced roughly passing the 600 metres.
Race 5   LASER ELECTRICAL TIMARU FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
DOLCE VITA - lay out around the final bend and throughout the run home. Driver J Dunn advised he did not activate the sliding blinds due to having the field covered.
ROCKNROLL MAMA - driver R Anderson was spoken to regarding using his whip free of the rein and in more than a wrist only flicking motion.
SZYBKA ETHAN - raced wide early stages. Weakened near the 400 metres.
KATHERINE - raced wide throughout.
HEY TONIGHT - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start.
IKSAKA - shifted out abruptly near the 200 metres.
DELIGHT MY FIRE - raced wide early stages until improving to the parked position near the 1000 metres.
MONELLIE - raced wide early stages.
BOORAA - a false start was declared when BOORAA shifted out early in the score up checking ENDLESS DREAMS. Whilst both runners would have recovered their position in time several other runners were affected by the slowing of the barrier arm with the score up being abandoned. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly.
ENDLESS DREAMS - raced wide throughout.
Race 6   BROSNAN TRANSPORT PASSING LANE TROT
GOLD CHAIN - shifted out at the start hampering outside runner. Broke on the first bend. Authorisation of 1st placing was withheld until Stewards confirmed the mare had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations in the early stages. Driver J Dunn reported he did not release the deafeners due to having the field covered.
LOOK BOTH WAYS - hampered and broke at the start. Broke near the 500 metres.
UNIQUE ROSE - broke after 150 metres.
JUST ONE MORE - broke on the first bend hampering outside runner.
BLACK JACKET - trainer R Todd was warned for being late to notify the mare would be racing without blinds. Hampered by breaking runners on the first bend.
DORA EXPLORER - checked and broke on the first bend. Broke near the 450 metres.
PLAY DOUGH - hampered by breaking runners on the first bend.
SONOMA TYRON - broke at the start.
DEBORAHS GEM - lay in and broke racing into the first bend.
MAJESTIC ROSE - driver L Dobbs will be spoken to in the coming days regarding his start position. Broke near the 400 metres.
Driver L Dobbs (MAJESTIC ROSE) was warned to ensure he starts wider on the track when drawn on the unruly.
Race 7   SOUTHFUELS LIMITED "YOUNG AT HEART" MOBILE PACE
WOMAN IN CHARGE - over-raced early stages. Weakened from the 1100 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. A warning was placed on the mare's racing performance.
CHEDDAR MADE BETA - weakened from the 500 metres.
BARKLEY - broke on the first bend. Hampered by a weakening runner and briefly held up on the final bend.
RAKE - raced wide early stages. Held up early stages of the run home.
CLIVE - raced wide early stages. Driver J Dunn was questioned regarding his driving tactics near the 1100 metres after RAKE was able to shift inwards from three wide and take up the position in front of him behind RAH DE RAH. Mr. Dunn advised that he had to work hard, three wide and on a very strong pace in the early stages so was keen to take up a position closer to the pylons. Mr. Dunn added that considering that, his runner had become slightly lethargic and lost contact with RAH DE RAH and had been reluctant to continue to chase his horse expecting the pace to slacken. He also said that he preferred to follow RAKE believing that that horse would be far more likely to cart him into the race at a later stage however that horse had immediately shifted to the pylons leaving him in his original position. After reviewing the films Stewards noted his explanation.
INVISIBLE GIRL - hampered by a weakening runner near the 1000 metres.
ALEXY - over-raced early stages. Hampered by a weakening runner near the 1000 metres.
Race 8   CATERING SOUTH CANTERBURY PACE
CONTRACTUAL ISSUES - over-raced in the middle stages.
GUIDO DA SIENA - driver B Hope was spoken to for using his whip in more than a wrist only flicking motion.
SISTER'S DELIGHT - broke at the start losing all chance. Retired from the race with a flat tyre which occurred when the horse was in a gallop.
TERROR THE CHRISTIAN - broke at the start.
DONEGAL GILBERT - broke at the start. Driver J Cox reported the gelding was making abnormal breathing noises during the running. A post-race veterinary examination including a scope revealed no abnormalities.
BUCKSKIN - broke at the start. Raced wide around the first bend.
ARNIES ARMY - lay inwards and had to be steadied on the final bend. Continued to lay inwards in the run home. The off side number hung loose during the running.
VICTOR TANGO - paced roughly at various stages during the running.
CLASSY KID - hampered and broke at the start.
Race 9   EMPIRE HOTEL (TEMUKA) SOCIAL CLUB MOBILE PACE
BEEN TO JENNY'S - lay outwards in the run home.
ESSENCE OF EASTON - held up early stages of the run home.
MINNELLI SMILE - raced wide early stages.
OPAWA MACH - raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 1800 metres. Over-raced middle stages when in the parked position. Weakened near the 600 metres.
IDEAL RULE - raced wide early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field near the 2000 metres.
PAUL'S VERDICT - there was a delay to the start due to PAUL'S VERDICT requiring farrier attention. Broke in the score up losing all chance. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
MOSSMAN - paced roughly and was out of position at the start.
SHESHEARTANDSOLE - driver T Chmiel was cautioned for crossing down just prior to the start. In taking this action Stewards determined that Mr Chmiel had gained no advantage. Held up early and middle stages of the run home.
VINTAGE BEACH - hampered by weakening runners on the final bend.
Race 10   FAREWELL & BEST WISHES DARRIN WILLIAMS HANDICAP TROT
SUNNY BILL - lay inwards in the home straight.
GLOBAL FLIGHT - tangled away.
MAJESTIC SUNSET - raced keenly throughout. Broke near the 700 metres.
SODS LAW - tangled away.
DON'T LOOK BACK - raced wide early stages.
RED HARBOUR - there was a delay to the start due to RED HARBOUR requiring a sulky change. Raced wide early stages until reaching the parked position near the 1800 metres.
MADAM SASS - broke at the start losing considerable ground. Broke again near the 950 metres.
ZONED SCARLETT - raced wide for a short distance in the middle stages.
MISSY MOO - held up early and middle stages of the run home.
EASY PICKINGS - raced three wide without cover from the 1400 metres.
