Stewards concluded their investigation into an incident shortly after the start. As a result of speaking with drivers and viewing the films. Junior Driver T Larsen was spoken to advisedly and asked to make more decisive decisions and actions when a horse is displaying poor manners. TARGARYEN had a warning placed on its racing record.

Trainer A Wohlers advised Stewards on 29 September that SVELT is being treated for a minor tie up issue. After this treatment has concluded the mare will have some feed and work changes for the continuation of her campaign.

Race 1   RICOH TROT
HALFWAY THERE - broke passing the 1750 metres. Broke again at the 1200 metres. Stood down to trial satisfactorily on one occasion.
BONNIES DELIGHT - trainer R Wilson was warned for presenting the mare without the notified blinds. Broke briefly final bend.
RANDOM SPUR - broke passing the 1400 metres hampering trailing runners. Broke again near the 750 metres. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
PEARLSPUR - hampered by a breaking runner and broke near the 1400 metres.
NORDIC PRINCE - broke racing into the first bend.
WHANGAMATA - broke at the start losing all chance.
EMDEEGEE - trainer D Simpson was warned for presenting the runner to race with half hopples which had not been notified. Broke near the 1300 metres hampering a trailing runner. The half hopples broke while the gelding was in a gallop shortly after. The gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition. Hampered near the 750 metres and broke again.
BILL - trotted roughly throughout and broke briefly near the 600 metres.
DEM BONES DEM BONES - hampered near the 1300 metres and broke.
THE GOOD DOCTOR - raced wide first bend. Trotted roughly throughout. Driver S Ottley advised that she did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
Race 2   DUNEDIN CITY MOTORS FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
BETANCOURT - lay in final bend contacting track markers.
EXPRESSIVE LOVE - broke shortly after the start hampering trailing runners and breaking a hopple in consequence with the filly being retired from the event. A warning was placed on the filly's barrier record.
LADY BRAE - broke in the early stages of the score up with a warning being placed on the barrier record of the mare. Weakened from the 500 metres.
DREAM ON JAFFA - raced erratically late in the score up briefly hampering inside runner. Hung inwards in the early stages when being restrained. Broke near the 1200 metres hampering an inside runner losing all chance. A warning was placed on the mare's racing record.
CHARLIE'S ACE - hampered near the 1200 metres. Broke passing the 450 metres.
SWEET CHILLI - broke in the score up. Paced roughly shortly after the start and broke with a warning being placed on the barrier record of the mare.
BETTERTHANRAZA - hampered by a breaking runner near the 1200 metres losing some ground.

BOULTON HOME - driver M Hurrell admitted a breach of Rule 869(4)(6(b)(c) in that he forced THE WEST WING to race wider on the track prior to reaching the 1000 metres and was fined $200 by the JCA.
THE WEST WING - broke at the start with a warning being placed on the gelding's barrier record. Forced to race wider on the track by an inside runner approaching the 1000 metres.
BONO BROWN - broke at the start losing all chance and was retired from the event. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
MORRISSEY - weakened from the 600 metres. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
MARIE LONG - broke at the start losing considerable ground with a warning being placed on the mare's barrier record.
AVEROSS SPITFIRE - hampered by a breaking runner and broke shortly after the start losing all chance.
STARKERS - broke when leading passing the 1750 metres losing all chance. Stood down to trial satisfactorily on one occasion.
Race 4   HAMPDEN TAKEAWAYS MOBILE PACE
TIN ROOF BLUES - crowded racing into the first bend.
PLAYBOY PRINCE - checked and broke racing into the first bend losing all chance.
MY NIKAYLA - lay in badly despite the efforts of Driver R McIlwrick racing into the first bend checking inside and trailing runners. A warning was placed on the mare's racing record.
MACK SHEER - hampered racing into the first bend. Weakened final bend.
ELLNBAC - hampered racing into the first bend. Held up final bend.
IT'S ALL OVER NOW - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver T Dewe. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Hampered racing into the first bend. Weakened from the 800 metres.
TETRICK - checked and broke racing into the first bend. Again hampered by a breaking runner near the 1800 metres.
ASTUTO - checked and broke racing into the first bend. Weakened final bend.
BONNIE BOY - checked racing into the first bend with Driver S Ottley being briefly unseated. Over-raced in the middle stages while leading.
FRANCO SHERBORNE - hampered racing into the first bend.

Race 5   BRETT REID ELECTRICAL MOBILE PACE
TICKING OVER - trainer B Williamson was warned for presenting the gelding to race with blinds instead of the notified sliding blinds. Hung inwards in the early stages of the home straight and shifted into the passing lane for a short distance.
BOILOVER - raced wide first bend.
CLIFTON JESSIE - raced three wide without cover from the 1200 metres.
PETREA BROMAC - out of position at the start. Driver M Love will be spoken to regarding this. Raced wide first bend before being restrained to the rear.
WAREPA PRINCESS - weakened from the 900 metres. Underwent a post race Veterinary examination which revealed no obvious abnormalities.
BOMBOLLA - broke in the score up and was well out of position at the start with the gelding being stood down to complete one satisfactory mobile trial.
REGAL MACH - paced roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start with a warning being placed on the barrier record of the mare. Broke final bend.
Race 6   ALEXY'S FAVOURITE TRACK JUNIOR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE
WHO'S SMOKIN - over-raced early stages when being restrained to obtain cover.
CHANGEAROUND - paced roughly near the 150 metres after striking the sulky wheel of BRIGHTEST MOMENT when being shifted inwards. Junior Driver S O'Reilly was warned to exercise care when shifting ground. Miss O'Reilly was also questioned regarding her decision not to improve wider on the track near the 600 metres when an opportunity presented. Miss O'Reilly explained that after analysing her horse's previous form it appeared to have raced best when saved for one run and at the 600 metres PETE'S DASH, the horse she was trailing, had still been travelling well. However soon after this CHANGEAROUND was covered by outside runners simultaneously to PETE'S DASH commencing to weaken resulting in her runner being held up until the final bend. Stewards noted Miss O'Reilly's explanation.
BRIGHTEST MOMENT - out of position at the start despite the efforts of junior Driver M Hurrell with a warning being placed on the mare's barrier record. Raced four wide from the 650 metres. Briefly locked wheels with STAVROS THE TERROR on the final bend.
PETE'S DASH - raced wide early stages. Weakened final bend.
MR CLOONEY - paced roughly final bend and struck several pylons.
STAVROS THE TERROR - briefly locked wheels with BRIGHTEST MOMENT on the final bend.
Race 7   ICON INTERIOR CONSTRUCTION LTD TROT
BARHAM BELLE - underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination after not having competed for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start. Broke first bend losing considerable ground. Weakened from the 600 metres.
CODY BANNER - hung inwards and broke racing into the final bend.
DON'T LOOK BACK - trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
MISS JESSICA - when spoken to regarding the improved performance of the mare, trainer/driver T Robertson explained that he had changed the mare's training regime in recent weeks and added that the horse had performed well in previous starts on this track.
MAUDARCHY - broke after 150 metres. Broke final bend.
BEV K'S ONE - broke at the 200 metres.
JACCKA JEORGE - broke after 200 metres losing considerable ground. Driver N Williamson advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to being unable to find clear racing room in the home straight.
AMERICAN VIKING - broke approaching the 1000 metres and was retired from the race. A warning was placed on the gelding's racing record.
MAJESTIC ROSE - raced wide from the 950 metres after being forced wider of the track by an inside runner. Broke passing the 700 metres.
Race 8   ABURNS GLASS MOBILE PACE
IDEALISTIC LASS - weakened from the 600 metres.
WOLFENSTEIN - over-raced throughout causing driver K Tomlinson difficulty. Hung inwards when being shifted wider on the track near the 750 metres striking the wheel of THE MAROON MARAUDER despite the efforts of Miss Tomlinson. Continued to hang inwards when attempting to improve three wide.
Race 9   NZ HORSE TRANSPORT HANDICAP TROT
COUNT EYRE - broke rounding the first bend losing considerable ground.
TOP POCKET CHANCE - paced and then broke after 150 metres losing all chance. A warning was placed on the racing manners of the gelding.
ZONED SCARLETT - broke for a short distance at the start before breaking again shortly after losing considerable ground. Held up final bend. Authorisation of 4th place was withheld until Stewards were satisfied that the mare had complied with the Breaking Horse regulations. Driver B Orange advised he did not activate the sliding blinds due to the cord becoming entangled.
PLAYBOY'S BROTHER - broke shortly after the start. Lay outwards and trotted roughly at various stages throughout the event.
WHATWILLBEEWILLBEE - broke briefly rounding the first bend. Broke again at the 400 metres.
SAM GALLEON - underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination after not having competed for a considerable period of time and was cleared to start.
Race 10   CHILLI DHABA INDIAN TAKEAWAY MOBILE PACE
GLENTHORNE - held up leaving the final bend.
FRANCO JUNE - weakened final bend.
ALEXY - driver D O'Connell advised he did not activate the removable deafeners due to the cord becoming entangled.
