Trainer J Young advised Stewards on 24 September that blood tests have revealed that JOHN WAYNE is suffering from a virus necessitating its scratching from this week's engagement.
Race 8 - WHAT THE HILL AT WOODLANDS TENDER CLOSES 23 OCT HCP TROT
Trainer J Dickie advised Stewards on 24 September that following the gelding's disappointing performance last week PARAMOUNT KING has been sent for a spell.

GENERAL MONTANA - lay in over the early stages. Tended to over-race middle stages when leading.
Race 2   WHAT THE HILL AT WOODLANDS TENDER CLOSES 23 OCT HCP TROT
BAR ROOM BRAWL - a post race veterinary examination revealed respiratory inflammation. Stewards will follow up with Trainer J Dickie in the coming days.
HAVEHORSEWILLTRAVEL - slow early. A post race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. Stewards will follow up with Trainer B Mangos in the coming days.
ONE MAJIC KENNY - Driver P Ferguson reported that he did not activate the deafeners due to having the field covered.
Trainer J Dickie advised Stewards on 1 October that BAR ROOM BRAWL has been retired from racing.
Trainer B Mangos advised Stewards on 03 October that HAVEHORSEWILLTRAVEL has been treated for a minor respiratory infection and would be continuing with its preparation.
Race 3   GRAND PARK MOBILE PACE
HAPPY PLACE - held up final turn and had to shift ground outwards passing the 100 metres to obtain clear running.
A BETTER DANCER - slow early stages.
JACK RYAN - lay in rounding the turn approaching the 800 metres.
REVITALISE - Trainer R Green was cautioned for presenting the gelding without the notified removable deafeners. Raced three wide early and middle stages.
MILLWOOD BILLIE - over-raced middle stages. Held up final turn and then had difficulty obtaining clear running before again being held up inside the final 50 metres. Driver T Herlihy reported that he did not activate the deafeners as a result.
Race 4   SPEEDING SPUR AT WOODLANDS TENDER CLOSES 23 OCT TROT
LOLLIEPROP - broke shortly after the start and galloped for a considerable distance before settling. Raced wide before crossing to race outside the leader approaching the 2000 metres.
MAJESTIC HARRY - broke shortly after the start and settled at the rear.
SUNNY PETITE - broke at the 2150 metres losing its chance.
ISAAC H - stood on the mark when the barrier was released and trailed the field throughout. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier manners.
ALTA REDEEMER - commenced to improve three wide from the 1400 metres but was unable to make much headway before weakening passing the 400 metres. When questioned regarding the performance Stable representative R Fensom could offer no explanation other than the mid-race effort had been beyond the gelding.
Race 5   NZB STANDARDBRED HARNESS MILLION 1 C & G FINAL (MOBILE PACE)
The start was delayed for approx 3 minutes due to the saddlecloth number on B D JOE requiring attention.
B D JOE - commenced to over-race middle stages before being improved to race outside the leader near the 1100 metres.
MEETMEINSORRENTO - broke passing the 2000 metres checking NEVADA and settled at the rear. An investigation was held into this incident. After viewing the replays and hearing the relative evidence of Drivers D Ferguson (MEETMEINSORRENTO) and J Dickie (NEVADA) it was established that Mr Ferguson had attempted to shift his colt up the track approaching the 2000 metres to relieve pressure to NEVADA, which had been placed in restricted room, with MEETMEINSORRENTO then breaking free of interference. Broke again near the 700 metres losing ground before settling. A warning was placed on the colt's racing manners.
MR FANTASTIC - hampered by the breaking MEETMEINSORRENTO entering the first turn and had to take evasive action.
CAPTAIN NEMO - held up final turn and early stages of the run home.
ALADDIN - broke approaching the 1900 metres but soon settled.
NEVADA - placed in restricted room approaching the 2000 metres before being checked and pacing roughly for several strides.
AMERICAN DEALER - raced three wide over the early and middle stages.
HOT AND TREACHEROUS - raced three wide over the early and middle stages.
Race 6   MAJESTIC HORSE FLOATS MOBILE PACE
DOC HOLLIDAY - held up final turn and then had difficulty obtaining clear running throughout the home straight.
YORKSHIRE - raced three wide early and unsuccessfully contested for a position in the running line with BALL OF ART before being restrained to the rear near the 1700 metres.
MAJOR JELLIS - when questioned regarding the performance Co-trainer B Purdon stated that the gelding had trialed well leading into the event and could offer no explanation for the poor run. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Stewards will follow up with Mr Purdon regarding MAJOR JELLIS's recovery in the coming days.
FABRIZIO - improved around three wide to race outside the leader approaching 1000 metres. Weakened final turn. When questioned regarding the performance Driver B Orange advised that the gelding had driven better following the addition of a Murphy Blind but had again disappointed when failing to run on.
Co-trainer B Purdon advised Stewards that MAJOR JELLIS has recovered well following its disappointing performance last week with blood tests showing no abnormalities.
Race 7   FRANKLIN LONG ROOFING 2020 SPRING CUP (FFA PACE)
BELLE OF MONTANA - held up briefly entering the home straight.
CHECK IN - paced roughly entering the first turn.
COPY THAT - trailed on the outer before commencing to improve three wide from the 400 metres. Forced four wide rounding the final bend and then lay in briefly.
TRIPLE EIGHT - when questioned regarding the performance Driver D Butcher stated that he was not disappointed with the run after having settled well back in the field and the final sectionals recorded.
DANCE TIME - paced roughly shortly after the start losing considerable ground.
Race 8   HR FISKEN & SONS FFA TROT
The start was delayed approx 3 minutes due to KAY CEE having to return to the stabling area to enable a gear alteration to be made.
VATICAN HILL - broke at the start losing its chance.
Race 9   THE ALEX EATERY ON DELIVEREASY.CO.NZ MOBILE PACE
RICHMOND TIGER - locked wheels with APIECEOFLOU passing the 200 metres losing its chance. Driver A Drake was shown the replay and was spoken to advisedly regarding the manner in which he drove in this incident.
APIECEOFLOU - held up rounding the final turn on the back of the weakening BONDI SHAKE and shifted out marginally when being restrained locking wheels with RICHMOND TIGER and lost its chance.
EYECON - commenced to improve three wide from the 1300 metres but was unable to make much headway and was then restrained to the rear near the 700 metres. Gave ground approaching the 400 metres.
BONDI SHAKE - paced roughly under pressure rounding the final turn before weakening out.
BETTOR LISTEN - paced roughly rounding the final turn and throughout the run home.
Race 10   OKTOBER FEST - THE ALEX 9 & 10 OCT MOBILE PACE
SPIRIT OF TREES - lay out racing down the back straight the final time when at the rear. Gave ground approaching the 400 metres.
POLKA DELIGHT - weakened rounding the final turn. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality and Stewards will follow up on the mare's recovery with Trainer T Herlihy in the coming days.
Trainer T Herlihy advised Stewards on 1 October that POLKA DELIGHT has recovered well after over-racing last week at Alexandra Park and added that he will be making gear changes prior to the mare's resumption.
