LE TISSIER - Stewards questioned Junior driver S Iremonger (assisted by R Holmes) as to why he had persisted with maintaining a position following CHRISTIAN COMMAND between the 600 metres and the 500 metres despite that runner weakening and losing ground. Mr Iremonger explained that he had been reluctant to improve his position earlier as his runner only possesses a short sprint and had been concerned about having to race wide on the final bend. After considering his explanation Stewards issued Mr Iremonger with a warning to be more decisive in his decision making and show better judgement by improving around a weakening runner sooner than he had on this occasion.

Junior driver A Cameron (assisted by K Cameron) was shown a replay and warned for the position she scored up in the early stages. Stewards also placed a warning on the barrier record of OAXACAN DREAM. Raced roughly near the 300 metres when crowded for racing room. Stewards spoke with drivers J Morrison (CHAMPAGNEANDWINE) and A Cameron (assisted by K Cameron) regarding this incident where it was established that both runners had simultaneously shifted ground resulting in OAXACAN DREAM being hampered. After considering the matter Stewards were unable to apportion blame to any one driver however both drivers were reminded of their obligations when shifting ground.
THE GENERAL - pre-race warmed. Lethargic in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record. Driver S Smith reported the gelding had hung throughout and would be recommending the blinds be removed prior to its next start.

GLENTHORNE - Stewards have concluded their investigation into the driving tactics employed upon GLENTHORNE. After initially interviewing driver K Tomlinson, Stewards spoke with trainer K Chapman regarding the manner in which this horse was handled through the early stages of the event. Mr Chapman confirmed that he had instructed Miss Tomlinson to lead and dictate consistently strong sectionals as he believed that to be the racing style that best suited his horse. After considering all submissions, the Stewards advised Miss Tomlinson that in future it was expected she would be able to demonstrate a more adaptive style of driving where should things not pan out as originally intended, she would be able to better assess the situation and change her tactics accordingly.

After considering his explanation Stewards adjourned the matter to a later date.
BONNY'S GEM - raced wide in the early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field near the 2000 metres. After viewing the replays and hearing the evidence, the JCA upheld the charge and Mr O'Connell's driver's licence was suspended from the conclusion of racing on 30 October 2020 up to and including 30 April 2021 (6 months).
