Race 9 - SELLING? CALL CRAIG AT HARCOURTS HCP TROT
Junior driver K Tomlinson was spoken to advisedly regarding the manner she shifted ground abruptly inwards near the 450 metres when briefly inconveniencing an inside runner. Stewards reminded Miss Tomlinson of her obligations when shifting ground and advised better would be expected of her in future.
Race 10 - SOUTHLAND HARNESS AWARDS SALUTE DAVE MCDONALD MOB PACE
Driver T Robertson was spoken to regarding the tactics he adopted at the start of the race when his horse remained on the speed. Mr Robertson reported his horse had worked well during the week and he wanted to race in a handy position and trail one of the favourite runners which he believed would come round to the lead. Mr Robertson further commented that when he observed Mr B Williamson on DALLAS GRIMES activate gear when attempting to progress forward, he made the decision to retain the lead rather than trail that runner as he believed DALLAS GRIMES was not travelling well enough to take him into the finish. Stewards noted Mr Robertson's comments.
