GIRLS LET LOOSE - out of position at the start despite the efforts of driver G O'Reilly. Broke near the 900 metres. The all clear was delayed until it was confirmed that the mare had not galloped further than 150 metres.
THAT'S THE STORY - lay outwards at various stages during the running. Lay outwards under pressure throughout the final straight and trotted roughly over the concluding stages.
WESTEROS - broke as the mobile moved away and took no part in the race. A warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record. Trainer M Smolenski advised he would be returning the horse to the trials.
Trainer S Sutherland advised Stewards on 11 August that GIRLS LET LOOSE has been treated for a virus since last racing.
Race 2   BOOK YOUR EVENT AT ADDINGTON & BE IN TO WIN PACE
DON'T QUOTE ME - began awkwardly and got back as a result. Paced roughly and lost ground on the final bend. When spoken to regarding the gelding's performance, trainer T Bagrie advised that his horse through beginning poorly had got further back than anticipated and being a 2yo having its first start over 2600 metres would have been more competitive had it received a covered run three wide into the race however this did not eventuate with the gelding having to improve very wide on the final bend.
PORT ELIZABETH - Trainer R David was warned for presenting the mare with removable deafeners which had not been notified. Broke briefly in the early stages.
ROZHA - weakened near the 400 metres.
Race 3   XCM SPORT PACE
VINTAGE BEACH - paced roughly on the final bend and lay inwards dislodging track markers.
STICK MAN - broke at the start.

GOMEO DENARIO - broke at the start.
Race 4   HYDROFLOW JUNIOR DRIVERS MOBILE TROT
Prior to the start all Junior drivers were spoken to by the Starter regarding the correct procedure when warming up in that horses who are completing their preliminaries in the opposite direction of the way of the course, do so on the extreme outside of the track.
SUNNIVUE PHILEAH - out of position at the start. Trotted roughly and had difficulty maintaining contact with the field through the middle stages. Driver J Morrison reported the mare to have lay inwards throughout and lost ground on each bend as a result.
THE EYE OF THE TIGER - broke near the 450 metres losing its chance.
JUSTAN'S SISTER - broke at the start then paced for some distance before being returned to a trot.
WITH ICE - trotted roughly in the score up and was out of position at the start.

A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. When questioned regarding the performance, trainer M Kerr was unable to offer any explanation and advised he will have the horse thoroughly examined by his Veterinarian in the coming days. Stewards will follow up with Mr Kerr.
Trainer M Kerr advised Stewards on 7 July that MILS MCARDLE has been sent for a spell.
Race 6   LAMB & HAYWARD PACE
PRODIGAL GUINNESS - over-raced through the middle stages.
STANDOUT - broke in the early stages. Driver J Morrison reported he sustained a punctured sulky tyre near the 700 metres.
SWEET LORESS - slow to begin. Driver B Laughton admitted driving carelessly near the 700 metres when contacting and puncturing the sulky wheel of STANDOUT and the JCA imposed a fine of $200.
FYNN FROST - paced roughly and broke for several strides having to be steadied with 70 metres remaining.
ELO LOUISE - broke leaving the bend near the 2100 metres.
Race 7   CHRISTCHURCH CASINO REGIONAL RACING SERIES MOBILE PACE
ESSENCE OF EASTON - held up in the early stages of the run home. Stewards questioned driver M Williamson regarding his decision not to improve wide with cover from the 1000 metres behind MIDNIGHT PARTY. Mr Williamson explained that he believed that R May as the driver of MIDNIGHT PARTY would not have given up the parked position inside the final 800 metres and he was unwilling to race three wide without cover that far from home. He said that his runner had performed poorly two starts ago when having to race wide and as it only possessed a short sprint preferred to drive the horse with cover when circumstances permit going forward. His explanation was accepted.
ALLANDALE - checked and cleared to start by the Veterinarian after losing a bell boot in the preliminary which was replaced causing a delay.
MIDNIGHT PARTY - hung throughout the score up and was out of position at the candy pole despite the efforts of driver R May.
SZYBKA LANE - raced wide from the 600 metres and was shifted very wide on the final bend losing ground. Driver T Williams reported the mare had hung inwards throughout causing him difficulty.

MISS BEHAVIN - held up on the final bend.
GOTTAGETTABEER - raced wide in the early stages.
SWISH - weakened from the 900 metres and was distanced at the finishing line. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an elevated heart rate with the Veterinarian unable to confirm if the mare had suffered an atrial fibrillation. A veterinary clearance will be required prior to resuming and Stewards will follow up with the connections in the coming days.
TRUEHAWK - weakened over the final stages. When questioned regarding the performance, trainer/driver L McCormick responded he was disappointed with the effort considering a recent trial which had been encouraging. Mr McCormick advised the Filly would be going out for a spell.
Race 9   BLUE STAR TAXIS MOBILE PACE
STAR PAIGE - lay inwards on the final bend and dislodged several track markers.
MACHS MARETA - over-raced middle stages.
