Race 1   TRANSPORT SERVICES LTD 2YO MOBILE PACE
ONELOVEONELIFE - raced greenly leaving the final bend contacting several track markers.
BEST TRIO - paced roughly passing the 400 metres and again early in the home straight, losing some ground.
Race 2   FORDE'S PETFOOD MOBILE TROT
ROBO TROUBLE - broke shortly after the start, losing considerable ground.
SUPERFAST KIWI - trotted roughly over the concluding stages, having to be steadied.
HELLUVA WAY - raced wide throughout. Weakened from the 600 metres. When questioned regarding the performance driver K Barclay could offer no tangible explanation. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have an irregular heartbeat. Connections were advised HELLUVA WAY was stood down pending a Veterinary Clearance including a clear ECG.
IT'S SUMMERTIME - underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination and was cleared to start after looking uneven in its gait. Driver J Douglas reported he was unable to drive the mare out fully over the concluding stages, due to it trotting roughly.
Race 3   SOUTHLAND VEHICLE SALES MOBILE PACE
SWIFT ROBYN - shifted outwards in the score-up hampering outside runners and necessitating a false start be declared. Driver C Ferguson elected to start from the Unruly position for the restart where SWIFT ROBYN will now be drawn for future engagements.
BETTER GALLEON - over-raced in the middle stages.
MAJOR MENACE - raced wide into the first bend. Lost a bell boot near the 400 metres.
MELTON MAFIA - unable to obtain clear racing room over the concluding stages.
Race 4   OTAUTAU VETS LTD MOBILE TROT
CHRISTMAS BABE - broke in the score-up and was out of position at the start.
MISS JESSICA - held up leaving the final bend.
TWEEDLEDEE - trotted roughly in the score-up and was out of position at the start. Briefly hampered by a breaking runner near the 200 metres.
TOLKIEN - raced wide in the early stages. Broke near the 90 metres when the removable deafeners were released and continued in a break across the finish line. Stewards lodged a Protest into 5th placing being awarded alleging TOLKIEN breached the Breaking Horse Regulations when breaking in excess of 50 metres over the final 200 metres. Connections did not contest the Protest and after viewing the replays the JCA disqualified TOLKIEN.
KIWITRIX - raced wide in the early stages. Broke over the concluding stages and continued in a break across the finish line when lapped on by CHRISTMAS BABE. Stewards lodged a Protest into 1st placing being awarded alleging KIWITRIX breached the Breaking Horse Regulations at this point. Connections did not contest the Protest and after viewing the replays the JCA relegated KIWITRIX to 2nd placing.
LISA MARIE P - weakened rounding the final bend. Stewards questioned driver M Williamson regarding the horses performance. Mr Williamson explained that his mare was feeling the effects of recent racing and would be speaking with trainer P Williamson regarding the remainder of the mares intended campaign.
RYDGEMONT MILLY - broke near the 250 metres when the removable deafeners were released.
Following the running of this race Stewards spoke with the Starter Mr N Popham regarding the speed of the mobile barrier which appeared to be slower than usual.
Race 5   SSBA/VET STH EQUINE SOUTHERN BELLE (HT4) MOBILE PACE
LUCYS DELIGHT - briefly lost contact with the field passing the 600 metres.
AMORE LANCOME - placed in restricted room passing the 650 metres.
DACHY - raced wide into the first bend. Driver N Williamson was issued with a warning when shifting ground inwards near the 650 metres placing an inside runner in restricted room.
KICKUPYAHEELS - junior driver J Morrison reported he did not release the removable deafeners applied to the mare due to having the field covered.
Race 6   DRAKE PLUMBING & DRAINLAYING LTD FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE
BUB'S VC - weakened rounding the final bend.
VON ART - raced wide into the first bend.
AMERICAN EYRETIME - over-raced in the score-up.
CLASSIE PRINCESS - weakened rounding the final bend.
OMAGGIO - held up rounding the final bend and again in the latter stages of the home straight.
Race 7   WESTERN ELECTRICAL LTD MOBILE PACE
MAKARA - broke entering the first bend, inconveniencing trailing runners. A warning was placed on the racing manners of the gelding.
I'M WATCHING YOU - inconvenienced rounding the first bend.
TARGARYEN - inconvenienced rounding the first bend.
IDEAL GLACIER - inconvenienced rounding the first bend. Raced wide until reaching the parked position near the 1000 metres.
FRANCO HUNTINGTON - inconvenienced rounding the first bend.
THE NIGHT WATCHMAN - inconvenienced rounding the first bend.
LILAC BECKY - held up rounding the final bend.
AIRWAVES - held up for clear racing room late in the home straight.
MAJOR WATSON - when questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance trainer/driver N Williamson advised at its previous start the gelding had raced back and then battled over the concluding stages off a fast tempo. Since then it had been briefly freshened, had trialed well mid-week and he had been confident of a forward showing today.
DUKE OF DUNDEE - junior driver T Larsen in the presence of senior driver K Larsen was issued with a warning for using his whip on more occasions than is permitted by Clause (b) of the Use of Whip Regulations. In assessing this penalty the Stewards took into account the lack of race-day experience of Mr T Larsen.
Race 8   EARL DRAKE BUILDER MOBILE PACE
MY GEORGIE BOY - held up for clear racing room in the latter stages of the home straight.
SEAMARK - held up for clear racing room in the latter stages of the home straight.
THE INTERCEPTOR - over-raced in the score-up. Weakened rounding the final bend.
SEE YA WRITE - shifted up the track abruptly passing the 100 metres with junior driver J Morrison having to take corrective action.
LITE PERCUSSION - over-raced in the early stages despite the efforts of driver K Barclay to restrain the gelding.
POCKET WATCH - held up rounding the final bend by a weakening runner.
MACH'S BACK - lay inwards passing the 100 metres. When questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance the connections advised the gelding had been racing better than recent form would suggest and had also derived benefit from obtaining an economical trip today.
Race 9   DT KINGS TRANSPORT LTD MOBILE PACE
BELLA SARA - over-raced in the score-up. Weakened from the 400 metres.
GEMMA MAC - weakened over the final stages after racing in the parked position throughout.
STUN GUN - raced wide rounding the first bend.
ROBYNS PLAYBOY - driver C Ferguson was shown the films and spoken to advisedly for the manner he drove over the concluding stages.
Race 10   WINTON'S TOP PUB & GARDEN BAR MOBILE PACE
LONGUEVAL - when questioned regarding the tactics adopted at the start driver N Williamson advised the gelding had over raced in the score up and had been beaten for early speed. He was further asked regarding the performance of his charge, where he explained that he had become positioned further back than anticipated when shuffled back during the middle stages. He added that his gelding had failed to handle the prevailing track conditions.
THE BIG YIN - held up rounding the final bend.
ART PROFILE - raced wide in the early stages. Broke passing the 500 metres. A warning was placed on the racing manners of the gelding.
BEEZ NEEZ - raced wide in the early and middle stages.
ONEDIN HURRICANE - raced wide in the early stages.
FORSURE - trainer K Larsen was issued with a warning when presenting this runner in removable deafeners which were not notified. Raced wide in the middle stages.
