JIMMY CARTER - placed in tight quarters by PICKETTS RIDGE near the 300 metres, striking the near side sulky wheel of that runner and breaking in consequence, losing its chance. | |
RYDGEMONT MILLY - broke shortly after the start losing its chance. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. | |
NOTTINGHAM K TWO - trotted roughly leaving the final bend before breaking near the 200 metres. | |
FULL NOISE - over-raced in the score-up and made contact with the mobile barrier arm, breaking in consequence and losing considerable ground. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Authorisation of 2nd placing being awarded was withheld until the Stewards confirmed the gelding had complied with the Breaking Horse Regulations. | |
PICKETTS RIDGE - slightly out of position at the start due to taking fright when an inside runner made contact with the mobile barrier arm. Shifted inwards near the 300 metres when insufficiently clear of JIMMY CARTER which struck the inside sulky wheel of PICKETTS RIDGE and broke in consequence. Driver R McIlwrick reported he had received a punctured sulky tyre in this incident. R McIlwrick admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that he drove carelessly and after viewing replays and hearing penalty submissions the JCA imposed a suspension of Mr McIlwrick's horseman's licence from the 9th March up to and including the 15th March (3 days.) |

PERONI - lay inwards over the concluding stages. When questioned regarding the manner in which he drove passing the 1600 metres driver N Williamson advised that he had elected to take cover in a three back position due to the gelding having to work too hard in the initial stages. | |
SCOTLYNN BEACH BOY - the near side front hopple loop broke shortly after the start resulting in the gelding breaking and being retired from the race. The gear was subsequently inspected and found to be in previous good condition. | |
MOTOR MOUTH - placed in tight quarters over the concluding stages. | |
FALCON'S MONARCH - weakened from the 500 metres. | |
LORD OF THE DANCE - broke as the start was effected. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Trainer/driver B Norman reported the gelding had been striking the wheel disc. | |

Race 10 HOMESTEAD FILLIES & MARES MOBILE PACE | |

MY TERN - paced roughly in the early stages and on various other occasions during the running. Again paced roughly rounding the final bend, then being heavily contacted by CAUTIOUS GALLEON and briefly breaking as a result. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the off side front pastern. | |
RAKARIPPA - weakened rounding the final bend. | |
KENNINGTON GIRL - raced wide in the early stages. Lay inwards rounding the bends contacting several track markers. Driver R McIlwrick reported he would be recommending gear changes be made in an effort to rectify this tendency prior to the mare racing next. | |
TAC MAC - shifted down the track over the concluding stages when under pressure. | |
CAUTIOUS GALLEON - lay inwards and made heavy contact with MY TERN leaving the final bend resulting in driver A Beck (CAUTIOUS GALLEON) becoming unbalanced in the sulky. Stewards opened and adjourned an inquiry into this incident and will speak with the respective drivers in the coming days. | |
FLIGHT CREW - broke in the early stages of the score-up and was a distance back at the start. Again broke as the start was effected. A warning was placed on the barrier manners of the filly. Held up rounding the final bend and in the early stages of the home straight. | |
Stewards concluded an investigation into the reasons contact was made with the front off-side leg of MY TERN rounding the final bend. After speaking with driver A Beck (CAUTIOUS GALLEON) and reviewing the films of the incident, a warning was placed on the racing manners record of CAUTIOUS GALLEON. |
