Race 1   FAT SALLY'S PUB & RESTAURANT TROT
GOTTA TICKET - raced wide without cover from the 1300 metres.
HALFWAY THERE - broke near the 1300 metres. Broke again near the 600 metres and the 400 metres. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare. Driver C Thornley reported the mare had failed to handle the grass track today.
GOOSE HEALY - broke shortly after the start. Broke again near the 1250 metres. Stood down pending one satisfactory trial.
DREAMSINTHE MIST - late scratching at 12.10pm due to transport difficulties.
FAST WHISPERING - trainer N Taylor was issued a warning after FAST WHISPERING was presented with a pacifier which had not been notified. Hampered by a breaking runner in the early stages.
MAJESTIC JAG - broke after 100 metres.
RASTUSBURN - trainer G Dunn was issued a warning after RASTUSBURN was presented without the notified anti-choke device with this gear being fitted prior to the start. Broke at the start. Placed on the unruly for standing starts at the trainer's request.
KEN'S DREAM - trotted roughly in the home straight.
APPEARANCE - hampered by a breaking runner in the early stages. Driver J Smith reported he was disappointed with the performance and Stewards will follow up with the connections in the coming days.
Race 2   ONE SMART COFFEE MOBILE PACE
TIN ROOF BLUES - held up early in the run home.
VON RICHTHOFEN - broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
ARMA TWOSPOONS - shifted outwards leaving the home bend. Driver R Houghton was spoken to and reminded of his obligations to maintain a straight course in the home straight.
VIGOROSO - over-raced throughout.
Race 3   ALISON MARY MUDIE MEMORIAL PACE
EVER SO BETTOR - late scratching at 2pm due to transport difficulties.
LIVING FANTASY - broke briefly at the start.
CAMBIRE - held up early stages of the run home.
ARCHAIC LUSTRE - the connections advised the gelding would be racing without front shoes. Broke at the start hampering SANTERIA. Placed on the unruly for future standing starts.
IRON WOMAN - broke at the start.
STRIKING GLADIATOR - shifted outwards at the start.
WEBS REACTOR - over-raced in the middle stages.
SHE'S TOUGH - driver R Houghton admitted a breach of Rule 869(2) in that he used his whip on more occasions than permitted by Clause (b) of the Use of Whip Regulations. After submissions on penalty, the JCA suspended Mr Houghton's licence from the conclusion of racing today up to and including 8 March 2020 (8 days).
SANTERIA - hampered at the start by a breaking runner.
Race 4   HOUSEKEEPERS DESIGN OAMARU MOBILE PACE
The start was delayed after an incident occurred in the chute to the birdcage requiring some horses to undergo gear alterations prior to or following their warm ups.
GEOFF'S LEGACY - commenced to buck in the lane way on the way to the birdcage and contacted R Houghton the driver of DOC SEELSTER who was dislodged. Driver B Williamson was unharmed in this incident. There was a delay to the start when GEOFF'S LEGACY required a sulky change. Underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
PAT CAMPBELL - when questioned regarding the mare's improved performance trainer B Negus reported the horse to have derived benefit from a short recent freshen up and also a significant downgrade in the calibre of opposition to what she had previously been encountering.
SHINDAL - held up on the home bend.
MAN I'M GOOD - driver A Kyle reported he lost his whip prior to the start. Slow to leave the pre race circle and then shifted ground checking DOC SEELSTER. A warning was placed on the horses barrier record.
STAR PAIGE - broke racing into the first bend losing all chance.
SZYBKA LANE - trainer G Telfer was issued with a warning after presenting his mare with the incorrect number. Raced wide early stages.
MADAME FROST - raced wide early stages.
DOC SEELSTER - driver J Morrison was an authorised driver change replacing R Houghton who was stood down by St John personnel for this race after being dislodged from his sulky by GEOFF'S LEGACY on the way to the birdcage. Mr Houghton was cleared to fulfill his remaining driving engagements. DOC SEELSTER underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Checked and broke in the early stages of the score up however was able to take up its position at the start.
ROZZANO - over-raced early stages when being restrained to the rear of the field.
Race 5   DAVID OVENS BUILDER TROT
DD'S SUPER STUART - Stewards questioned driver J Markham regarding the manner he drove on the final bend. Mr Markham explained he was having trouble controlling the gelding due to it hanging outwards and over-racing resulting in him contacting and puncturing the sulky tyre of the weakening LADY ZARA. Stewards were satisfied with Mr Markham's explanation and took the matter no further.
DON'T LOOK BACK - broke near the 200 metres.
RUSTY I AM - broke at the start.
LADY ZARA - weakened on the final bend and when doing so sustained a punctured sulky tyre.
ROGIE FALLS - raced wide into the first bend. Trotted roughly and broke briefly racing over the crossing near the 1700 metres.
MAJESTIC ROSE - broke at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the mare. Subsequently retired from the race with a broken crupper. This gear was inspected and found to be in previously good condition.
JACCKA JOSH - fractious prior to the start and then broke at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding.
DEBORAHS GEM - broke passing the 50 metres. A warning was placed on the racing record of the mare.
MICKEY JAY - paced away and had to be broken up losing considerable ground in consequence.
Race 6   WAIKOUAITI RACING HERE NEXT WEEK MOBILE PACE
MANON THE RUN - broke near the 1600 metres after becoming unbalanced when racing over the crossing causing several runners to lose their position. Stewards placed a warning on the geldings racing record. Paced roughly and had to be steadied passing the 700 metres losing ground.
HOLD THUMBS - held up early stages of the run home.
OLIVER NORTH - checked rounding the first bend by a breaking runner and was obliged to race three wide for a significant distance as a result.
TOP POCKET CHANCE - held up final bend.
Race 7   PICK & SHOVEL JUNIOR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE
GLACIER COASTER - held up throughout the home straight.
SKIPPERLAND - broke in the score up losing all chance. Placed on the unruly for future mobile starts.
IDEOLOGIST - weakened over the final stages. When questioned regarding the performance, co-trainer M Robertson advised he was very disappointed with the effort and that he intended to take blood tests in the coming days and undertook to notify the Stewards of any findings. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery rate.
ULTIMATE ROCKER - trainer L Hanrahan was issued a warning for presenting ULTIMATE ROCKER without the notified blinds.
HOT STARFF - over-raced middle stages.
SHEEZA SPORT - out of position at the start after having to avoid a breaking runner. Driver C Purvis reported she did not activate the removable deafeners due to having the field covered.
The connections of IDEOLOGIST advised Stewards on 21 February that blood tests taken following its disappointing performance at Oamaru last week revealed no abnormalities adding that the gelding will be driven with cover in upcoming races should circumstances permit.
Race 8   PGG WRIGHTSON STANDARDBRED TROT
CALL THIS FUN - held up early and middle stages of the home straight.
DA MOONS MISSION - trotted roughly in the home straight and was unable to be driven out.
ZONED SCARLETT - trainer B Williamson was issued a warning for presenting ZONED SCARLETT with the incorrect colours.
TAKE AFTER ME - broke at the start. Raced wide in the middle stages.
HAWAIIAN HULA - broke at the start losing all chance.
SOME TIME - held up early stages of the run home.
SIOUX PRINCESS - broke at the start. Broke again near the 400 metres.
MIKEMARO - raced wide in the middle stages.
Race 9   OAMARU HARNESS RACING CLUB HANDICAP PACE
ROCKNROLL MAX - over-raced final bend.
SWEET LORESS - tangled away.
KING OF HEROES - broke at the start.
GOD ONLY KNOWS - broke at the start. Compounded over the final stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be showing signs of colic for which treatment was administered. Stood down pending a Veterinary clearance.
Race 10   SPRINGBANK HANDICAP TROT
BK DAWN - broke briefly near the 250 metres.
NAVARA - trotted roughly late in the run home and had to be steadied.
REBEL KIBBYBONES - raced wide early stages.
RITEUR - broke after 150 metres losing all chance.
MAJESTIC CONNIES - broke near the 400 metres.
Race 11   MORRISONS SADDLERY & FEED MOBILE PACE
HANDS UP JACK - the hopple side carrier came adrift in the home straight. Trainer's representative J Cox was issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for failing to correctly affix the gear.
MOTORING MAJOR - hung outwards passing the 700 metres and became awkwardly placed close to the sulky of I'LL WRITE THE STORY. Held up for clear racing room over the final stages.
HIGHLAND REIGN - held up for clear racing room over the final stages.
CHAMPAGNEANDWINE - raced wide early stages.
THE MAROON MARAUDER - raced wide from the 1300 metres.
GABBY'S STAR - briefly hampered in the score up.
LOOK SHARP - broke in the score up momentarily hampering GABBY'S STAR and was out of position at the start. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the filly. Had some difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the home straight.

RAFA NOVAK - broke at the start.

THE DIVA - paced roughly late in the run home and broke shortly after the finish line.
